Today, one of our professors, Sir O, held a special lecture: Case study for Bued and Agno River.
Their buwis buhay experiences for the acquisition of samples definitely caught my attention. It made me think of the other side of the course I took other than the popularly known fields found in structural and construction.
What do I really want to pursue after I graduate?
Well, the key is to graduate first of course and finish my thesis before the week ends (week being 3rd week of May lol).
Anyway, see you in the next blog!

Today we had our fieldwork in the Marikina River. It was extremely hot that day and there was not enough shade in the area so we had to make use of our umbrellas. Bless whoever invented those things.
This is us under the scorching heat lol.

So, our professors held an ARCGIS tutorial, which I wasn’t able to attend. I didn’t feel so good and was rushed to the hospital that night.
Sayang ang learnings that day :( charot pero stay healthy and take care of your body para walang masayang oras, learnings, at pera lol.

So today we were taught to use several equipment used for measuring several water quality parameters.
I wasn’t able to take any pictures because my phone ran out of space *cries*. So excited tho to use those for the fieldwork.
Thank you to the instructors/researchers/master students who taught us at NEC!

Agno River is a relatively large river basin with the upstream classified as a Class A River and the downstream to be of Class C.
As specified in DAO 2016-08, Class A means that it “needs to undergo complete treatment such as coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection in order to meet the National Standards for Drinking Water.” On the other hand, the downstream, being class C, is considered to be fishery water for the “propagation and growth of fish and other aquatic resources”, recreational water for boating, and Industrial Water for manufacturing processes after treatment.
Other information could be seen from the infographics our group made about the Agno River in the Philippines.

This day was exhausting to say the least. We had a “game” of Amazing Race wherein there were a series of stations we had to finish. The first one to finish would be receiving a gift from our professors.
Unfortunately, we ended up being third or fourth? I honestly forgot. I know for sure though that we didn’t win *sobs*.
It was exhausting, yes, but it was pretty exciting especially since everyone became so competitive lol.

One of our first tasks is to apply the Stream Visual Assessment Protocol to our very own UP Lagoon. We did a lot of observing, some walking, and lots of talking.
To summarize the results we prepared a short video which could be accessed through this youtube link:

Stay tuned for my next post LOL.

So, we were tasked to make a blog containing everything that we’ve done for the whole semester. Being the responsible me, of course, I just created mine three days before the deadline lol.
This may be crammed, but this is one of the best classes I’ve had throughout my stay here at the university. (sipsip aside lol).
So brace yourselves for the continuous posts lolol.
