I think there’s already a variable for recognizing her from TV, if I remember right. Would that bother her?

How does she feel about being recognized for her archery career and for impersonating her brother? Does she like it, hate it, or is she neutral?

She makes her living currently being a brand ambassador for stuff like Wheaties & Vans sneakers & such (because otherwise being an Olympic athlete ain't paying the bills!), so she's well-used to it. Definitely the most famous of the modern day Harbingers, beating out newscaster & internet influencer MC.

And it was the entire "snuck into the men's competition" thing that hurtled her to popularity (otherwise the brands wouldn't exactly be knocking down the door for an archer as opposed to a different sport), so she's particularly used to that being brought up.

The MC definitely wouldn't be the only one geeking out.

Author, have you seen the trailers for the Sony exclusive game, Tides of Annihilation? It's Arthurian themed!

I never heard of it before, but looking at the trailers now... that's probably going to be a game that triggers my motion sickness. 😅

Cool that it's also doing the modern times x Arthurian lore thing. AIso the world looks like it's apocalypsing! I wonder if it's going to be accurate at all or just some Arthurian names and call it a day.

since you’re a big anime guy, are there any anime characters the OKS characters are most like, personality/vibes wise? also, do you have any recent favorites in anime (if you feel like saying)?

Maybe appearance wise since my imagination runs in 4K Anime Style, but not really personality/vibes so much. I mentioned it before, but there was Aidan Farman from the Your Forma anime last season, whose flashbacks scenes made me go, "Hey, it's Adrian!"

Maybe not so much in the present, where he's running around stabbing people, but hey, if Adrian ends up as the saboteur... I had to look up his name again because I just remembered him as "that dude who looks like Adrian".

Maybe Merlin from Fate/Grand Order Babylonia? I didn't actually watch the anime, but he's got the troll/gremlin energy down in the game. You'd probably be better off with this version of Merlin.

Arthur probably fits the "prince" anime trope the closest, so someone like Albert Hawke from Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, but the trauma nuance is off there too.

Percy... I'm completely blanking on any deadpan cuckoolanders here.

Sorry to hop on the Merlin ask train, you must be getting really sick of these 🙈 I really love them as a character and have so many questions, but totally understandable if you skip over this!

1. As Merlin gets their “soul juice” from others, would they be open to an asexual relationship, or is sexual intimacy something they like in a relationship?

2. If they want sexual intimacy with a partner, wouldn’t the experience be kind of one-sided? They get to have that physical intimacy with someone and see them vulnerable, but aren’t able to reciprocate. Wouldn’t it ring hollow for Merlin too? If their partner is essentially just interacting with a puppeted reflection of their own desires, what would Merlin enjoy about it, knowing their partner will never physically like “them”? It’s like one person is being rizzed by their favourite body pillow, and the other is essentially watching someone pleasure themselves with a fantasy 😟

Idk if I worded all of that right, I hope that made sense!

Spoilers: Merlin really wouldn't care if you were a worm at all.

You can platonically bond with Merlin just fine. One of their closest relationships is with Arthur, which isn't particularly romantic/sexual. You can't romance the incubus without sex, however, as it goes something like this.

Merlin doesn't care if their lover is physically attracted to them (although that's a given unless they've purposefully shapeshifted into something else.) Merlin doesn't care about being physically attracted to their lover. (They generally aren't ever. Because they really don't care about such things) Merlin thinks humans are way too caught up in all these physical superficialities.

This is as pretty much as close as "loves you for your soul" as one can get, because that's pretty much what they care about. That's why mortal death doesn't bother them quite so much... yeah, your body is gone, but your soul is still fine and will come around again (eventually).

Unless the world apocalypses and then no one is coming around ever again.

I decided to check the trigger warnings for game 1 and was shocked when I saw the warning about possible miscarriage. Now I'm wondering if this could possibly happen in our life in Camelot or our current life, and also if it's about MC or another character. Would answering these two questions be a spoiler? Because I'm feeling like this right now:

You can actually run into a miscarriage scenario in the Camelot dream/memory sequences as well, since back then there was a lot more of "We must have heirs for the sake of the kingdom!"

Although, that probably won't show up in the first game, it's something to keep in mind.

tried to see as many thing as I could for this update as I could but ended up picking these as my canon choices for the free time:

I do want to ask is it meant to be that if you're kidnapped you have all your clothes and stuff from your hobby with you? Or is that wrong? I also had the choice to send the pearls to the lobby security guard when I don't know if that should be possible either when the place blew up?

Anyway I do love the fact I can't ask Merlin about demons, the demons have spoken and we're better off not knowing 🙂‍↕️and surely I can trust the demons in my head! But also eyeing the whole bit of asking the mage to help with MC's amnesia, it's not much but taking anything I can get of understanding what's going on with a faking amnesia MC 👀

Yes, if you've been kidnapped, Merlin & Adrian won't ditch everything, leaving MC with nothing but their shirt on their back. Instead, they'll grab a handful of things that they think might be important to bring along on the trip (which will vary by MC). I believe the wardrobe is always taken, however, as a common sense pick.

Sending pearls to Ed when the entire apartment complex burned down, thus killing him, is a bug though. I wouldn't be evil enough to let the player waste their precious free time slots on fruitlessly sending stuff to dead people. Since it's not a game breaking bug, the fix will show up with the next public update.

How does the tactile aspect of Merlin’s appearance work? Like if everyone sees very different things at once, how would that work if they’re interacting with people on a practical level?

Bad example, but like what if Merlin was about to topple over and someone grabbed what they see as their long hair (sorry!) but simultaneously someone else might grab nothing but air if they perceive them as having short hair? 😣

And how does Merlin interact with the world if they have no set body? Do they choose their clothes? Their accessories? Can they do their hair or makeup in a mirror? How do they express their style?

What's going on with Merlin (in multiple ways) is one of the mysteries of the game. Their RO Intro mentioning that they're a shapeshifting incubus that takes on the form of what the viewer finds most attractive is already more than what's been revealed in the game, so you're really not going to be getting much more explanation regarding what's going on with them from me.

Basically, now? Tactile works the same as all other senses. The viewer feels what they think they ought to feel. Yes, there are going to be discrepancies if someone is actually paying attention to the way someone else is interacting with Merlin.

The first section of Chapter2-5 (already available in the Alpha Build on Patreon) already has a clue if you end up in the branch where MC can try and borrow clothes from Merlin.
