When Perpetua came over, leaned over the monitor and gestured to me with his hand, pointing at his eyes then mine? Grinned and gave me a massive thumbs up?

I think this commission deserves its own post. Perpetua singing and performing Dance Macabre for @the-good-ghost-urls-r-taken !!! they wanted to capture a ritual memory and I did my best to do so!

Coloring was very fun, used several screencaps of Perpy during DM, to better understand how the colored stage lights reflected off of him. 🩷💛🩵

I'm a new to the Ghost band and I've never heard of this connection of Terzo with Bishop Necropolitus Cracoviensis II, do you know where can I read more about it? 🥺 I'd like to know more! I loved your post where you compare the two songs BTW 😭😭

Bishop Necropolitus Cracoviensis II is an obscure canon Ghost character who is basically the self-insert character of Zbigniew Bielak, the Polish artist / architect who draws the album art for Ghost.

all of the lore for Necropolitus is contained in a 2015 Facebook post he made just before the official reveal of Papa Emeritus III. it's only one post, but i think there's A LOT to unpack here.

the entirety of Necropolitus's official lore is him recalling his ~relationship~ with Terzo and time he spent with Terzo in Kraków, where Terzo served as a cardinal before he became Papa. Necropolitus speaks of Terzo very very fondly. Necropolitus talks about the fun they had together, as well as his admiration and respect for Terzo as a leader in the church. Necropolitus also talks about the times they spent together brainstorming their shared dreams and visions for the future, revealing their shared interest in art and philosophy.

Bp. Necropolitus Cracoviensis remembers: “…our relationship goes a long way back to the times before his papacy, that is when he was still a cardinal in my hometown, in Cracovia…(…) Although we had our share of juvenile recklessness - be it indulging his beloved cream pies - allegedly verging on six hundred sixty six portions a year but that must be a rumor I believe, or wild parties at the attic of seminary school (laughs) - even in his formative years, he remained a focused man of vision, looking far into the future, always addressing his people’s needs and longings to keep our church together in those turbulent, rapidly changing times (…) there were so many temptations to syndicate among our good people (…) (…) We would sit down to studying exciting Futurist manifestos, sketched the blueprints of utopian metropoles, spiked with shiny skyscrapers stabbing at the heavens belly… Wantonly swollen zeppelins would to carry our gospel of indulgence to the farthest corners of the globe to summon and enslave. we don't know what he looks like, except that he wears black robes and black gloves.

he seems to be fond of reptiles, having a taxidermy snake and an alligator head that he uses as a pen holder.

anyway, i see them as having been very close but then drifting apart over time due to Necropolitus idolizing / being obsessed with Terzo. Necropolitus says the aggressively individualist + capitalist philosophy of their youth "was always with [Terzo] through all these years", but after Terzo became Papa, he talked a lot about how greed is evil, how he hates greedy people, and how we need to be kind to others and accept that we can't get everything we want in life (in his pre-song speeches for 'Mummy Dust' and 'If You Have Ghosts'), so we can see that he obviously doesn't believe that anymore.

there's a fundamental disconnect between Terzo and Necropolitus that i think Necropolitus is totally blind to because he idolizes Terzo and loves the nostalgic version of him in his mind.

Fuck it, let's do this

Skeletà ghoul costume master post.

Aka every single piece of information I have amassed about those costumes.

The costumes were designed by Swedish designer B. Åkerlund, who's been working with Ghost since Meliora and has thought out most of the costumes since then.

Let's start from top to bottom, most of the cast wears a headdress, which I believe were made by Åkerlund and her team, but Phantom and Dewdrop are wearing hats made by NTTE Hats. Phantom has a feather on the right side of his hat and Dew on the left. (Example of another one of NTTE's designs, and the ghouls)

The masks are all custom sculpted to represent the performers' faces and they all have elements that distinguish them from each other, other people have done posts breaking it down so I won't go into details here. (I can do it in another post if someone really wants me to)

I could not find the creator of the masks, but my bet is either on Jerry Constantine, who's done masks for Tobias and sculpted the Meliora and Prequelle masks, or immortalmasks, who did Perpetua's.

The bowties are from FrauleinKink Studio in collaboration with Bootzy Couture, who also did the ones for the skeleton dancers at the LA show in 2023. They are leather pieces that fasten like dog collars.

The main piece is a custom bodysuit. The skeleton pattern is different on each suits which leads me to believe they are hand painted, along with the "brush stroke" appearance of them when you look up close. The zipper is in the front and center, and the various sizes of stones are riveted on.

Our boys are wearing literally my favourite part of the entire costume, a sleeveless tailcoat with a GORGEOUSLY pleated back that makes me think of a monster's spine and a weird, intricate lapel that seemingly pierces through the coat. The buttons are meant to be an ode to the buttons on the Impera jackets (it was literally impossible for me to find a high quality pics that shows the buttons well, I spent two days on it.)

And our girls are wearing batwings adorned with rhinestones, held in place with snap buttons. I talked about it in another post but the snaps can also be found on the boys' suits, which leads me to believe they were also supposed to get wings until quite late in production (rip wings, you would've been beautiful)

Last but not least, the Skeleta ghouls are truly for the alt bitches with their footwear as they are wearing custom painted chelsea platform boots from Doc. Martens.

Shoutout to whoever painted Dew's boot after his accident.
