bill and charlotte both enjoy baking and will often swap recipes, sometimes bill will bake things for alice when he has her

charlotte likes to collect mugs and trinket boxes

ed likes to paint and sew when he isn't working

speaking of ppl named ed, eddie enjoys cardistry, horse back riding, and playing guitar. he also collects lighters, decanters, antique slot machines

grace crochets, knits, and collects stuffed animals, her favorite stuffed animal being a "biblically accurate" angel plush steph got her

jonathan and lucy both enjoy hiking together, some of jonathan's other hobbies include collecting pocket watches, hunting, and taxidermy collecting

lucy however enjoys reading, horseback riding, drawing, cryptozoology, ghost hunting, and urban exploration

karen and mark enjoy gardening, playing tennis, and 50s style swing dancing, some of karen's other hobbies are embroidery, cooking, and collecting tea pots

Combining the Paul is Richie’s uncle HC and my Charolette is Ruth’s mom HC, I think that one day at work they were both like “hey our weird little high schoolers need friends” and they like set them up to become friends and somehow they just clicked 🤷

listening to Just For Once(album, not the show recording) and actually paying attention to the mixing and noticed the slight echo they added to Ruth's voice to sell the empty theater they were going for

and I think its such a neat little feature. its not overwhelming, just enough

it fully took my attention from what I was doing

I think the reason the Hatchetfield story is such a gut punch, that you can’t help but feel deeply for these characters, is that so many of these awful tragic events happen to teens, if not children. Richie, Ruth, Grace, Steph, and Pete, but also Deb and Alice, Ethan and Lex, Hannah and Tim. Hell even all the roller rink kids, the Abstinence Camp campers, Jerry Junior, the kids Miss Holloway worked with and lost. Max and Kale hurt people but they were young. How many trees in Witchwood Forest were kids who didn’t know they wouldn’t come home for dinner that night?

I’m still struggling with anatomy and lighting but it’s a work in progress 😛

I hate Pete’s hair but it looks decent in this one so I’ll take it as a win

Originally Richie was going to have more blood but then it looked like a bunch of noodles were on him so I reduced the amount of blood

the thing I LOVE about the Hatchetfield characters is how realistic they feel! Especially in the characters that aren’t supposed to be popular. Richie, Ruth, and Grace for example all feel real in the sense that they’re not “oh boo hoo these characters are unpopular for no good reason”. No! They are genuinely “weird” or “cringe” in a way that makes sense in a real-world setting for them to be unlikable! And that’s why I love them so much more!! They have flaws and that’s important!!
