LOG: August 27th; 5:00 pm CST

Here’s a brief list of things that have come up!

— Connection to someone in my DR through a soul tie that helped N and I fine-tune and figure out how we are connected. It was enlightening and interesting!

— I seem to have some sort of tie to a specific mythological being, similar to demigods in PJO I think?? If this is the case I should be careful talking about it here but my 3D abilities specialize in electrical waves and technology, so we’ll see.

— Haven’t fought many witches in a while, but I did PHYSICALLY clean my soul gem, they were getting dull from use and oxidation. Having your contract outside of a Kyubey is great because witching out is less common and temporary in my contract. Still, I should see what I can do; especially since I leave for a trip across the country on the 1st to a big city, with more witches than I can surely handle alone. Perhaps I might meet some magi there, I’m sure they have a patrol going.

— I am visiting a lot of big cities this season; one in CA very soon, one in TN for my birthday, and maybe even NYC if I can wrangle it. I’ll see what connections, magically and otherwise, I can make there.

— specific places continue to come up in my dreams. One is an endless house with infinite rooms that i created in my youth; but didn’t expect to ever travel or see again. The other is a Nordic tavern in a small countryside town that doubles as a magic shop. Hoping to get insights about these as I have had magical interactions there often.

— i might also create a sideblog for more mundane manifestations if anyone would like that account’s name.

I think that’s it for now. I will try to see if I can’t share more about the gen concept soon, because i don’t know if I have put anything here about it yet and there’s quite a bit now.

I’m still here! Maybe no updates for a second; still struggling with my health. Just wanted to let everyone know I’m doing fine. Going through a transformation era in multiple senses of the word!

I’m too tired to do a detailed update, but here are some basics;

— I’m out of the ER, they didn’t find anything immediately concerning. Still having symptoms so I think I’m going to message my doctor nonetheless!

— I was still kind of out of it today but I did manage to fight the witch I sensed by my house! She was sort of themed on eyes and paranoia. With N fueling part of my magic, I basically scared her stiff… but I WAS able to defeat her because of it. Whoever you were, miss, Memory Eternal. You don’t have anything to be scared of anymore.

— There seem to be a LOT more witches off of the highway that circles the town than there are IN town… I counted at LEAST two last night, and the Phoenix witch I defeated was also off of that highway.

Well, today was eventful!

I spotted at least three witches across town, all giving off distinctly different energies. The largest one had energy that spanned blocks, I couldn’t pinpoint where her sigil was coming from specifically!!

The unfortunate part though is that I’m in the hospital 😭 I had to go to the ER for health issues right after the celebration and I’m still here for now. Things look a little fishy on the monitors so far, so we’ll see. It means I probably shouldn’t be fighting witches right now though, either!!

I’m too out of it to tell if there’s a witch here, but that’s because I’m lightheaded already. it’s a hospital so I’ll be on my guard regardless.

Goodnight !! I’ll be alright, so don’t worry. I’m basically positive this is just a mundane lapse in health for me.

Probably no magical progress today, I’m celebrating my friend P’s birthday alongside T! L is still out of town but we’ll probably call her at some point today.

P’s birthday is technically tomorrow, but she has family things then! And we’ll all be together to celebrate on the 10th as well, her wealthy family is holding her a party with live music which I always like to attend anyway, her birthday or not!

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were witches or familiars downtown, though, so I may need do some fighting anyway. I’ll try to update today.

In more lighthearted news, N SPOILED PRINCESS TUTU FOR ME and now won’t shut up about how we’re basically Fakir and Ahiru… which would be fine except I HADNT GOTTEN TO THAT PART OF THE SHOW YET!! So everyone go boo him please. ( /lh )

It would be nice to be able to go witch-hunting on the bus again. I did that once a few years ago when I was doing research for dragon and bear about local scope of witches while I was on call with some other magical girls.

Unfortunately the bus schedule has CHANGED 😭 So I’ll have to take a good, calculated look again at a proper route. And maybe this time I’ll use 3 bus lines instead of two, to get the whole town surveyed.

I haven’t heard from Bear in at least 2 years now, and I’m pretty sure Dragon is out of commission given his mundane family’s report on his health… so I suppose it’s up to me to keep the town safe for now. Unless any of the incoming university freshman are Magi, that is, but… I doubt it. Usually us locals have to save the students from witches even more than we do the other civilians, so I doubt anyone coming in has enough fortitude for a contract.

I am, of course, still working out the kinks on the gemstone concept on top of my duties as a new Puella Magi. N seems to know more about it than me, but everything he tells me, I have to take with a grain of salt, since I’m pretty sure I saw him working AGAINST the cause; but then again, my first dream of the girls was a rebellion.

For now, I fight witches and train further.

I fought my first witch today.

I had been subconsciously monitoring a patch of energy that seemed to be distributing Witch’s Kisses, and I was able to detect the sigil from my home even though the spot was a mile or two away, because I had passed it so many times this week.

Her sigil specifically had wings, and when I went into her labyrinth, her familiars were tall grass/jungle greens that would light on fire and attack. Using my ability, I figured out how to deal with them quickly enough that I could forge a path.

The witch herself was themed after prairie burning, witch trials, and phoenixes. Her witch form had a few different stages, but once I figured out how to properly wield my weapon, I was able to fight her and defeat her. She definitely fought back, but once I had delivered the final blow, I sort of felt like she was finally at peace. Memory Eternal, whoever you were.

Her grief seed had three charges, but I had used magic today in the mundane sense as well as in combat, so to completely clear my grief seed, I used them all and handed the shell to my incubator.

I then took the best nap I’ve had in about a week 😭

All in all, productive fight. I don’t want to jinx myself by saying she was easy to defeat, but I do want to gauge the power level of the witches in my town as well.
