A Thrilling and Phenomenal Affair at Western Mindanao State University Pagadian Campus

November 3, 2023. Oath Taking, Turnover Ceremony and Socialization Night at Western Mindanao State University Pagadian Campus A.Y. 2023-2024.

In legal and professional contexts, taking an oath is a big deal. It serves as a solemn and official oath of devotion to specific moral concepts, decency, and honesty. Adopting an oath encourages accountability for one's conduct, emphasizes the importance of personal credibility, and fosters trust.

As the academic year passed by, global universities have to change and reinforce a new set of student councils for us, students to have leaders that are full of energy and vigor.

On top of that, fellow students and faculties of the said university show one's face at the venue to witness and embark on the fabulous red carpet entrance and to put on show their mesmerizing halloween costumes.

As the dawn approaches, it is the time for the students and faculties to arrive. There are those witches, horror character movies inspired by cat women, The Nun, Wednesday Addams, Joker, wizards, and many more.

After the red carpet grand entrance, there are some competitions that include singing contests where the students from different departments showcase their harmonic voices in singing, story telling contests that make the crowd terrified, dance contests that make the students groove and shake a leg while watching, and also horror movie thrill contests where the graphics, concept and visual of each contenders are so breathtaking, nerve-racking, and horrified.

Before I forget, there are also costume winners that made the board of judges amazed and have captured their attention, which I unexpectedly also have to one's named Ms. Headturner of that night.

Subsequently, the emcee has announced that the haunted room was already open and it is ready for students to enter for us to feel the terrifying, extreme, and hair-raising experience inside of it, where there are those people who slip into clothes of scary figures and ghosts.

Many of the students entered the haunted room and some of them took video clips for documentation and for memories to be remembered.

Thereafter, after those horrible happenings, Ma'am Criselda Ricohermoso, the Campus Administrator took the pledge with the new designated University School Council members from mayor to councilors. Ma'am Criselda Ricohermoso then, spoke briefly of good leadership, trustworthy and accountable ability of one's who will lead and take supervision of the campus in a whole academic year. Later on the former USC president, gave a short speech with a tearful eye, remembering his memories of leadership in the campus with other members of USC and also with the students whom he has relied on. He also added that he will be missed to serve and fabricate new ideas for the campus.

And lastly, the students enjoyed their most awaited part of the event, where they can get a buzz out of party. All the students raved-up on the campus ground and enjoyed the loud bombarded rhythm of music and the multi colored shadows of light where they gave the best of their lives as college students.

The campus engages an audio sound system and kaleidoscopic disco lights where the students feel every beat of the music.

I could say that the event is very memorable and gratifying my experience as a college student in a state university where the pressure is always above my head, it was successful and thank God, as it was held in the ground, there's no rainstorm that could exterminate the part of the event. I am looking forward to many events and programs that the Western Mindanao State University Pagadian Campus will draw up in the coming months or academic year.

"But yet, this is a memorable one I'll always remember, having a social life while striving hard in my studies in college".
