The pain crashes into my lungs,
my chest drowning further under the weight.
I can't make a sentence,
my throat is paralysed.
I want you to hear me,
perhaps see me?
Look at me now, and just let it be over.

I've become a caricature of myself.
The one who breathed in the sun,
and the one who wailed with the moon.
Which of those was me?
I've lost the chains once engraved in my skin.
Who will say what I'm doing wrong now?
Is it right of me to keep going,
to want to breathe again?
When my world collapses,
what if I don't feel small anymore?

This poem was inspired by the prompt 'Unravelling,' provided by @myharshwordspoetry and hosted by @picklemafia.
Sunburnt locks, sullied like undone silk threads,
her face glistens in the hue of water.
Through her fingers the petals untangle—
one by one, slipping further from the stream.
Pink fades to yellow, like her once-rosy cheeks.
Her breath yet lingers, carried into the mist of the seas.

Cherish me,
Romanticize me,
Look at me through your pink lenses.
Kiss me hotter than the sun,
Don't stop when there's others.
Picture me in lights, and without.
Hold me tighter than the ribs holding your heart.
Kiss me again, and love me.
Love me like the Sun,
Have me linger in your mind.
Run after me, and tell me to stay.
Tell me to stay forever,
and kiss me over and over again.
Have all your hands beg for mine.
Put all your hearts out for me to choose.
And then kiss me.

At last, you've won again.
Wonder where did it truly begin,
when you shoved me into the emerald glass
screwing in the cork air tight.
Were you satisfied?
When you showed me my place,
made me beg for your heart
just to splash me with your semen.
My lace unwillingly melted into your fingers,
your face only ever coiling with disgust.
At last, you've won my darling.
The best prize there is: freedom.
Is it everything you ever wanted?

Oh, how I long to be entangled within something beautiful.
Silken threads webbed between my fingers,
glistening in the sunlight.
The fabric of my sunken clothing,
drunk with the pull of gravity.
My irises ignite with a spark,
blinding to me, yet assuredly stunning.
Would it be so wrong?
Desire isn't something to be bound.

The floor patterns emerge as blossoming flowers
as I tread carelessly into the meadow of people.
With a breeze entangled in my breath,
I am captured in their eyes.
Though infinity lurks within my heart,
the desire of souls knows no bound.
And they all reach for me like the last cookie in a jar.
However, who they crave is not me;
So I hold within my hands—them.

You, who lives within my blood stream,
why do you sap the essence out of me?
I tread within wastelands,
and drift across its shores;
For the mere sliver of hope.
As the tiles crack,
water fills the spaces between their gaps.
And I stand in the corner,
mulling over the end.

You make clear, the place I hold.
I beg my dear, I can give more.
I want to be someone to you,
I want to be visible too.
Please hold me closer,
closer to your heart;
Before you decide what's left to discard.

I too crave depth beyond human perception.
But to perceive such depth, I fundamentally cannot
be "human".
Unless I disfigure and dilute into the vastness,
the void of the universe,
I can never be non-human.

Stand here, in this field of forget-me-nots.
Kiss me, tenderly as the breeze.
If my hair tangle into your fingers,
don't let them go just yet.
Hold onto every last strand,
and kiss me again.

Remember to hold yourself from time to time.
What your skin feels like on your own, is a sensation unparalleled.

When flames burn, they leave ash behind.
It provides neither warmth, nor a red light.
A mere lump of dust— grey and lifeless.
Just as the residue yearns
for what once was fire;
I long for you— within my heart's desire.

My head is at the verge of exploding,
blood curdling at the sight of a stranger.
"GET OUT."
I want to scream with all the air in my lungs,
with all the bones in my body,
and with whatever sound my voice manages to gather.

Never mind the callousness
of those deemed "worthy",
for in this myriad existence
all are arbitrary.

If I could float in a tiny bubble overlooking the sea,
I wouldn't find it shameful to live within its seams.
I could observe the creatures, vibrant in their colours,
without the dangers in the deep waiting to uncover.
The bigger my bubble, the brighter the colours.
The higher up I am, the fewer the beings I fear.
I can then cross into the bubbles of others,
and we can look at the floor together.
And as the sun sets beyond the horizon,
I sleep in peace until again, it rises.

The bridal toss; so mystical.
A child's wonder can only comprehend so much.
Fate and destiny are the twins of inevitability,
showered with sweet smelling perfume
with the ability to marry human to desire.
Red, Blue, Yellow, White—
flowers tossed in the name of possibility.
They uphold a bride's grace, elegance,
and the very gist of tradition.
A white wedding is the epitome of purity,
yet the veil adorned by the bride tinted is black.
