an obituary for my zodiac sims (and all others lost)

I opened my game today to find that all of my saves had been deleted. I opened the folders in my documents and there’s nothing there. No CC. No saves. No screenshots. Nothing. It all says “last modified: 9/25/19″ aka the day I opened the game to find nothing was there, so perhaps by merely opening the game I enacted some sort of self-destruct? I hadn’t downloaded any new CC in a month, absolutely no a*fly or any of those dodgy sites, nor have I got any new EA content in a year. I’m not sure what could’ve triggered this.

I’m a bit heartbroken to be honest. I will perhaps re-make these sims and cheat all their skills and they will go on as normal, maybe I’ll only recreate the heir and incorporate a Great Extinction into her storyline. Perhaps this is the world’s way of keeping me out of the Sims 4 and into my homework, but it was a bit cruel. I’m also sad about sims I haven’t played on this simblr that I’ve had for years -particularly my Lovegood-Weasley house, and most of all my Sims Family with all my roommates. 

I’m still proud of what I built, and I’m glad I got to record some of these little digital lives while they were around.

(also if there’s a techy side of simblr that could help a bitch out, lmk???)

ZODIAC LEGACY CHALLENGE: Another Pisces Rising Little Jason aged up !!!

He’s Angelic! He’s such a cute dude. He gives me no trouble. Has not destroyed the dollhouse once!!! (though some classmate of his older siblings’ did so i deleted him)

 I randomized that trait bc it seemed ‘fairer’ that way, but in my head i thought “he better fuckin be Angelic” ...and Here he is !! An Angel 

He gets his own room on the side of the house, he inherited Poseidon’s House and Eggy from his older sibs (peep the little throwback pic of little Ariel hugging Eggy)

he does not get a high chair, otherwise known as a Glitchy Demon Seat

I didn’t actually go into cas and dress him yet but he’s wearing the same pj top that Ariel had (hand-me-downs?? adorable) and I actually love the firetruck for him bc he’s a water sign and firefighting makes sense for him

River actually caused a fire making scrambled eggs the other day and broke our streak of “the teens are weirdly good at cooking” but she extinguished it herself and made an excellent batch afterwards so We Don’t Talk About That !!!! all my teens are coming for Gordon Ramsay they would Never !! 

he has the same hair Percy did when he was a toddler which makes me happy !! it’s like mini Percy is back !! and I know it’s hard to judge toddler features but I’m getting the vibe that he’s gonna look a bit more like Ariel or River as he ages up

also as a side note, his moms like eachother again so that’s good

Zodiac Legacy Challenge: Pisces Sibs / MCCC RUINS MY LIFE

So I was working on my University build (which I have since abandoned r i p my dreams ) and I decided to bring some sims to the lot to playtest. I brought River’s girlfriend, Eloise, and her twin, Callie. I tried to MC control them to do something and saw that they had Children. They both had children. Eloise had an affair with one of her married neighbors and even hit soulmate status so............. i GUESS I gotta go into THAT household and make that icky sim get eaten by a cowplant...... and I don’t know what to do about the baby !! Or River !! I don’t Know !! I thought I’d reined in this MCCC nonsense but I gotta change settings again I GueSS ? ?  

....anyway River doesn’t know yet but enjoy this picture of her looking unimpressed and cute.  (PS -  when she was a kid she’d have her hair in a ponytail before bed and now she braids it and I just think that’s a cute character thing)

later update: PERCY’S BOYFRIEND HAS A KID TOO I’M GONNA LOSE MY MIND ?????  that’s it i’m DEleting Them

Duchess Hairs

This hair (V1A - left centre on the preview) was originally a commissioned item. I liked the finished result so much I ended up making 3 more versions of it because moderation is a foreign concept to me. I feel like this hair would be particularly great for some period gameplay, and thus I named it (/them) unimaginatively Duchess! The V2 ones I made a little more casual, with a sleeker/flatter crown, because I wanted a more casual version, better fitted for your average every day sims in your modern gameplay, heh.

4 versions: V1s have the taller crown, V2s are in the more “modern” style. A versions of each are the ones without strands, while B versions come with the added flyaway strands.

Zodiac Legacy Challenge: Pisces Sibs...... Boyfriend Swap?

So follow up about Percy’s boyfriend, Rhys....... their friendship bar wasn’t actually that high? like they had a good time but when I checked their bar a few days later they really weren’t so far along? I was a bit surprised but it wasn’t a big deal. Their relationship isn’t super serious, that’s fine. He’d also gotten the “flirty” moodlet at school before bc a classmate told him he’s cute. The game never told me which classmate, I assumed it was Rhys.

HOWEVER............Percy invited classmate and casual friend of Ariel’s, Vivek Chang, to come over. Percy hugged him once he got to the lot and they apparently had a crazy high friendship bar ?? I didn’t do that. I was barely aware that they knew each other beyond the bare minimum after “friendly intro”. I was trying to have Vivek be bachelor #2 for Ariel now that Percy had taken Rhys....  but there’s thIS revelation?? But then Vivek comes over to see Percy and apparently they’re already creeping up on best friend status? And they’re coworkers?? As an added bonus, Vivek was VERY flirty talking to Percy....?? so I GUESS we know which classmate told him he was cute the other day.

Seeing an opportunity, Percy went to the library with Rhys super quick, they had a nice conversation and agreed to be just friends. Most amicable breakup ever. Then Percy came back home all playful, flirted with Vivek. Their romance bar went up incredibly fast, surpassing whatever he had with Rhys after 3 interactions. After their first kiss Percy almost died of hysteria (but he Didn’t !!)

(( aaaaand now Ariel can date Rhys for challenge-required partner number 2 ehehehe)) 

I think I’m gonna start measuring the success of my kids’ relationships by seeing whether they almost die of hysteria on dates

Zodiac Legacy Challenge: Pisces Sibs Catlyn asked that cute townie that River set her up with out on a daaate !!!! she might’ve said no a few times but it didn’t tell me so i thought  catlyn just wasn’t doing the command....??? ............anyway  I just had them go to the museum and then flirt    

but it went super well !!!!!!!!!! Amara autonomously asked Catlyn to be her girlfriend ? ? or maybe Catlyn autonomously asked....all i know is I didn’t command anyone to do that but it HAPPENED !!! it was so sweet . they’d spent so long online chatting and they chatted even more afterwards and it was just so sweeet !!!!!

I mentioned in a that Eloise has a kind of rocky family life, so that’s why she abandoned River the other night to deal with a “personal emergency”, probably was a bit afraid to stay out too late.......well anyway it’s all good now !!!!!!

Eloise lowkey got distracted towards the end of the date, but it wasn’t as bad as Skylar with Ariel’s date, and I can reason she’s texting her sister/making sure nobody wants her back home yet

i mentioned this earlier too but once the date ended I teleported Catlyn to the lot bc the new couple went over to chat with a really cute, pink-haired townie. i, the overlord Sweet lil River thought Catlyn would like her (and that maybe she should get out more).

top: Ariel and Skylar’s first date !!! Skylar kept trying to escape but Ariel had such a nice time, she’s mushy bottom: Second date !!! Now it’s official and they’re out here exchanging promise rings already !!! ((and Ariel almost died of hysteria but she DIDN’T))

Once those kiddos made it official and exchanged promise rings, I noticed we’d never actually asked Skylar if he was single, so to make that possible interaction go away, we asked and he said “I’m seeing someone”...........um

I didn’t know if this was just the game’s reaction to “We’re seeing YOU, dummy” or if Skylar was a shady bitch. Ariel didn’t seem to mind, but I had to investigate. So I went to play in the Reyes household.

I went in the romantic tab! Just Ariel ! We’re all good ! But I wasn’t done snooping yet, I wanted to see his friends to see if there was Affair potential ((because eventually he and Ariel do have to break up, it’s the challenge I gotta))....and .......he’s friends with a baby.

It’s his son. He’s friends with his son.

I freaked out and snooped in the whole household’s friends’ tab, apparently his brother also has a son, but that’s not my problem

( at first I thought he was the other father of Skylar’s baby and i was like “oohoohoo affair, you’re busted buddy”, but it was his brother, and that was clearly a different baby )

I couldn’t summon the baby, but I found it in manage worlds eventually and.......AHhH um.................I don’t know what to do here?? I just feel bad?? I feel bad ending their relationship (eventually),like this guy’s clearly had a rough year. Like he ages up to teenhood, gets a bit disconnected from his friends, then he’s had an unplanned baby, and then he gets with his childhood bestie and loses her?? 

I’m such a loser  I DIDN’T WANNA KNOW HIS BACKSTORY, now i’m too attached?? 

after this MCCC and I had a TALK... wreak havoc on the townies, sure , what do I care, buT LEAVE THE TEENS OUT OF IT (((and maybe my active household pls and thank)))

Zodiac Legacy Challenge: Aquarius Cusp

SHIT HIT THE FAN [part 1]

tldr : MC relationship changer and MC woohoo laugh at my panic and at my prior arrogance taking all those risks with the settings

When Bonnie went and killed the first cow plants, I had her buy a ton of rare seeds so that she could replace them without her son finding out. She ended up with a ton of those magic beans, so then I had her plant one of those magical bean portal trees.

She explores and emerges with the forbidden fruit! Great! PlantSim time!

I wrote about their marital issues Here and Here , but they were still going, still soulmates, and Amenora was Really into Bonnie as a PlantSim. She ran over to her all flirty, so I seized the moment and sent them to go woohoo after Bonnie’s workout

maybe i lowkey wanted to see if elder plantsims could get dangerously tired but THAT’S NOT THE POINT

They were perfectly satisfied and all, but their friendship went down a bit and they went to sleep angry?? Did someone try something the other one wasn’t into?? IDK but I thought “no no no we can’t have that, don’t go to sleep angry, here you go, go woohoo again, have fun!”

their friendship TANKED after that one, really fuckin just TANKED. They lost soulmate status!!! After that they were were barely even friends???

I think this was MCCC’s relationship change settings in action. It seems to be conditional on/correlated with woohoo ......so they’re just never gonna woohoo ever again lmao

This was fine. I thought I’d just send them on a couple’s retreat to reconnect. I had actually toyed with the idea of having them move in with Bella Goth to help her with the loss of Morty and raising her new tot without him. This seemed like a good time.

bonus: I would get to spend more time with the teens and I wouldn’t have to take care of 6 full grown sims + a cat 

Then, while hovering over the bed, I saw that “try for baby” was greyed out. Why?? Because there were too many sims in my household?? That was news to me ?? APPARENTLY that night of angry woohoo got Amenora pregnant??? 

I panicked. I didn’t let Amenora take a pregnancy test, I sent her to go garden to learn more about Bonnie’s interests, and at some point I sent them both fishing, hoping they’d reconcile.

Story-wise, it would make sense to delete the pregnancy. Maybe Amenora’d gotten her tubes tied after the Four Baby Crisis period of her life. Plus it’s a small lot and I Just renovated .....it’s supposed to be Pisces SZN not Messy Aquarius Nonsense Hour

I also thought of keeping the baby on the condition that Bonnie dies of old age soon. She’s already ancient, was supposed to die over a week ago, it’d keep the same number of sims in the household....but it’s the 3rd trimester and Bonnie won’t die...and she didn’t deserve that anyway. I think I’ve made my peace with kid #5....but we’ll see
