I know it’s old news but I kind of feel like we still somehow don’t talk enough about how Gansey was given free license to gallivant around the world solo from pre-pubescence until the point when he was given an ultimatum to come back and find a good high school. Which he needs so he can go to college like he’s “supposed to”. And this was ABSOLUTELY at least partly because he was too visibly insane for polite company??? His parents didn’t always know where he was. He was presumably homeschooling himself with on-the-go tutors or something. He was having ptsd flashback breakdowns on European forest trails at random. They basically gave him a line of credit and several years (he died at ten and came back for Aglionby, when did he leave? Do we know in specific?) to like. Get being a crazy person out of his system. They HAD to bring the ultimatum out to get him back there?? And he came back good enough at faking it that his friends were ultimately shocked to discover how fucked up and terrified he was. Hello can anyone hear me. Can we talk about this more. Can the other characters react to this more I want them to know about it. Did he do an intensive crash course in the summer months before starting at Aglionby to catch up on all of math.

I love Gansey. In another era they so would’ve been sending him “to the seaside for his health”.
