Little dancers grow up.

Some little dancers gain weight.

Some little dancers lose flexibility.

Some little dancers panic.

Some little dancers get bummed out.

Some little dancers stop winning.

Some little dancers grow really fast.

Some little dancers grow really slow.

Some little dancers suddenly have to work a lot harder to keep their six-pack.

Some little dancers suddenly have to work a lot harder to hold their leg that high.

Some little dancers disagree with their teachers.

Some little dancers fall behind on their grades.

Some little dancers start to question what they want to do with their lives.

Some little dancers realize they’re probably not going to make a living with dance. Even if they’re really good.

Some little dancers are okay with not winning all the time, even if the people in the YouTube comments aren’t.

Some little dancers hit 12 and feel like there’s nothing left to learn because they’ve been doing 10 pirouettes since the third grade.

Some little dancers will be hard on themselves for losing.

Some little dancers’ parents will decide they’ve spent too much.

Some little dancers will just lose the love for it.

Some little dancers will just want to dance for fun.

Some little dancers will feel self-conscious about the size of their legs.

Some little dancers will feel self-conscious about the length of their arms.

Some little dancers will develop skin problems.

Some little dancers will decide they can’t take everyone knowing their name but not really knowing them.

Some little dancers will feel sick of feeling like they owe their “fans” something.

Some little dancers will tire of the constant criticism of their dancing, of the height of their releve, of their bodies, of their facial expressions.

Some little dancers quit.

But no matter what: all little dancers will grow up.

I think I’m not the only one feeling this weird trapped feeling today, feeling sick and overwhelmed but unable to stop reading, reblogging. Trying to understand when there is nothing to understand.

I live in the middle of it. 19 people died in front of the bar I go drinking twice a week, and my friend the barmaid was hidden behind the bar for two hours. One of my best friend lives rue Bichat and heard the gunfire from his window. I know a family trapped in stade de France. I should have been drinking in Republique at 8PM yesterday, where they started shooting.

Yeah I get it. We are freaking out.

But please, stop spreading only the bad stuff. Stop the pictures and videos of bodies in the street, of yelling and blood. Stop talking about refugee’s hate, and islamophobia.

Talk more about the people that yelled in the street the number of the code to their flat when victims where running everywhere to bring them to safety. The man that opened the window of his flat to victims of the Bataclan stranded on the roof.

Talk about the man that went back to help a stranger pregnant woman, and the kid that was carried to safety by a total stranger worried he could be trampled by the crowd.

Talk about the social media, the hashtag #porteouverte to get people out of the street and #voyageavecmoi to help people afraid to travel alone because of their religion/skin color.

Talk about the taxis that stayed in the street, bringing people home for free all night, and the bus drivers that helped evacuate the Bataclan.

The people crowding the blood centers, so much that Paris now has to send them back home.

The people in their home, terrified and in shock, and only waiting for the possibility to crowd the street and show them that we are afraid but not broken, and together.

There are handfuls of people that will take out of this tragedy all the bad lessons, the wrong evidences.

But please don’t talk about them. Talk about the fraternity and the love of the scared, scarred, ones in Paris. Because we are so many, and we won’t give up

I’m so tired of my hair falling out. All I see is strands of hair always falling. It’s very scary because I have all of these bald spots and also losing hair everywhere else. I can say that alopecia seriously sucks! It’s nothing I ever thought I would have. I just want all my hair to fall out and for me to be bald so I can just stop seeing my hair on my pillow and in the shower.
