I've been sporadically writing a little fanfic over on Ao3 and I noticed some odd comments popping up. People soliciting their services as an artist to illustrate your fic.
And like... since fanfic is, y'know, protected only if you aren't profiting... The whole idea of asking someone to pay you to illustrate their fanfic is... Weird? And definitely feels like something that might be against ToS?
I dunno. It's annoying. I don't want that kind of spam in the comments of my fic, thanks. If I want fanart, I know where to go. Why people gotta ruin a good thing with commodification?

Side obsession: Ateez
I have returned to spill thoughts on the newest album because, in the words of George Takei: *Ohhhhhh myyyyyy*
But aside from all the hot n sexy, I'm a sucker for fallen angel/Lucifer themes.
And like... the whole teaser promotions stuff leading up to Lemon Drop was all apple imagery right? William Tell, Snow White etc etc
Then they do the reveal and it's lemons, right? And we're all like.... You tricked us! Okay... Cool.
BUT
The sneaky bastards were like: WAIT THERE'S MORE!
And drop the In Your Fantasy repackage with a hot new song referring to Lucifer and temptation, right?
Which just leads back to the Apple imagery with Garden of Eden references.
Like holy crap there's a lot of referencing here and it's just tickling my mythology and allegory brain.
I'm so in love with their creativity.

GET. AI. OUT. OF. FANDOM. Stop making headcanons with it, stop making fanfic with it, stop making fanart with it. If I see one more "asking chatgpt *blank* about *character/characters in a fandom* I'm going to lose my goddamn mind. Use your own fucking brain, stop asking AI to do everything. You could even ask other real people what they think. Just. Stop. Using. AI. In. Creative. Spaces.

"I made a promise to my grandmother...back then the promise I made was just that I would become a good person...I made that one promise (to her), that nothing else matters and I’ll just become a good person."
"Honestly the standard for that is really hard (to meet)...like more than just being a kind/nice person? I think it’s to be a good person in a broad sense, I don’t think I can say I’m there yet...I still make mistakes sometimes and like…I might say something hurtful to someone even if it isn’t in my intention...even if I didn’t mean it that way, if the other person ended up feeling hurt, that kind of thing can happen so...I’m not fully there yet but I think that as I keep having these thoughts and putting in effort it can probably be seen it in a positive way...but out of all that I really hope to be a good person to our TINYs.

At-Home Gown Japanese, Western Market Retailer Iida Takashimaya 1906 This is a kimono-style indoor garment exported from Japan to Western countries. It was appropriated to Western markets with its extravagant design of embroidered cherry trees and a peacock, gussets patched on the sides, body flaring gently down to the hem, and a curved collar. Iida Takashimaya, the predecessor of the present Takashimaya department store, was a major kimono retailer in the Meiji era, and aggressively engaged in foreign trade business as early as the end of the 19th century. In the late 19th century a Japan boom spread in the Western countries, partly through world expositions held in various places. Westerners favoured Japanese kimonos, sometimes remaking it as into fashionable dresses. In the 1880s, women in the West started to wear kimonos as indoor wear, which was less subject to social constraints, and kimonos became widely popular in Western countries up until the early 20th century. The Japanese word “kimono" is said to have first been used in France in 1876. Now in America and Europe it is generally used to indicate a loose robe worn indoors.
