i got my photo taken with two VAs from TMNT 2012 yesterday.

[Leonardo's surroundings are black, though he remains completely visible. He looks around, confused but on guard. Black goo with a slight purple glow rears up in front of him, shaped like a snake.]

Leonardo’s voice: Darius doesn’t understand family. Not like us.

[Leonardo reaches for his katana, only to realise he is unarmed. He takes a few steps back. As quick as a heartbeat, the black goo coils around Leonardo, who struggles but finds himself unable to break free. He gives a grunt and squints as the goo wraps around him, totally restraining his movements.]

Leonardo’s voice: We know how important family is.

[The end of the snake-like goo dangles in front of Leonardo’s face. It morphs, changing into Leonardo's head as it looks when he’s in Kanabo form. The original Leonardo gives a small gasp before gritting his teeth, uncomfortable, fearful, though he tries to harden his features to hide this. He attempts again to break free but cannot. The grin on Goo Leonardo’s face widens.]

Goo Leonardo: We know what we would do to protect it.

my cosplay had kinda fallen apart a bit by the end of the day but i had fun cosplaying karai again after... 11 years? i need to fix up my costume (i was still working on it the day before mcm london) and try again. mostly with fastening everything to place and adjusting the wig lmao. i got called 'shredder' and 'ninja turtle carrier', sadly saw no other tmnt cosplayers apart from my sibling and his friend.

Raph, Don, Leo, Mikey OR Don, Raph, Leo, Mikey. To me, Leo is meant to be like... an all-rounder? So in my head, he shouldn't be the tallest but he shouldn't be the shortest either. If the four of them were in a video game with stats like STRENGTH, INTELLIGENCE and AGILITY, Leo would have a solid 2 across the board while his brothers are more up and down.

... it makes sense in my head, I promise!!!

I forgot to post here that I recently posted chapter 3 of my Leo-is-forced-to-work-for-Darius-but-also-wants-to-help-his-brother's-clones-too fic sfdsfds

Mind control/brainwashing is fun to play with and is nothing new in the TMNT universes, but I also think it's interesting if Leo isn't like... totally controlled/brainwashed. Yes he has the whole 'Darius can activate a chip to force him to follow orders/transform him into a kanabo' thing going on, but he tries to avoid having Dunn activate it and he's willing to do most of what Dunn says without Dunn having to activate the chip. It acts as more of a deterrent, with Leo being threatened with the possibility of Dunn forcing him to harm his family. After the whole Exodus two-parter, here Leo refuses to put the world's safety over his family's. He lets himself be captured to save his family's lives even if it means helping Darius with his schemes. Leo is very sure his family can stop Dunn anyway though ha but yeah. family > world

More rambling below:

Also I wanted to explore Leo becoming leader of his brothers and the sort of person he is without that. In chapter 1, when Splinter tells him to not train so much, his first thought is to go help his brothers sdjjfdssds the guy is almost at a loss when he tries to do stuff for himself. With FF's more... laid back kinda vibe, and them all 'graduating', I thought it'd be neat if Leo finds himself feeling kinda unneeded leadership-wise. When he is captured by the Dark Turtles, he almost immediately tries to become like... their leader/role model. Guy can't help himself. In the flashbacks of the lead up to Splinter choosing him to be the leader, he helps his brothers prepare for the 'leadership tests'. In the flashback at the beginning of this chapter, I thought it'd be interesting if we see Leo didn't want to be leader at first - didn't think he was good enough.

I've read a bit about the unused season 2 of Fast Forward, but I felt with the Dark Turtles, they seemed to become 'good' mostly because Dunn replaced them with robots. Here, I wanted them to come to their own decision on becoming 'good' instead... well, as close to being good as they can get.

Leo's my favourite character but I love playing around with him like this!! He's the perfect guy for this situation lol.
