i know we talk about the infantilization of trans men a lot (which, to be clear, IS a big problem, one that I've personally dealt with many times) but i don't think we talk enough about the reverse, calling a teenage trans girl a "woman" and treating her like she's an adult despite being like 15. I've seen this happen so many times and it's so fucking gross

yeah actually we removed the big bad wolf from the little red riding hood story because portraying violence against minors is really messed up. yeah. yeah also the wolf narrative was really predatory and had had some icky grooming vibes and a fable meant for literal children shouldn’t have implied p*do shit and grape so now little red riding hood goes into the woods and nothing happens and she goes to grandma’s house. don’t worry our kids will still stick to the path and know not to follow to wolves implicitly because we told them to and children should always do as their told. just like little red riding hood does now.

if Chris Redfield isn't gay then why does Leon fit perfectly in his lap when you overlay them from the 30th anniversary art?

Whenever I hear stuff like “trans men pass so easily” I think about this one video I watched on Instagram that was about a guy who had rescued a puppy. That was it. The whole video was a very wholesome look at a guy who had rescued a puppy and how that puppy was settling into his home.
And I opened up the comments, and every single fucking comment was transvestigating him. This man, who for all intents and purposes passed as a cis man but had a SLIGHTLY nasally voice that sounded as if he could have been on T, made the comments lose their fucking mind. And it terrified me. Because these were cis people. These were random, everyday cis people who had been poisoned by so much anti-trans paranoia that they were clocking a guy simply for having a slightly high-pitched voice.
And it made me think… I’m never going to be safe. No matter what I do, no matter how far into my transition I go, I will never be safe. Because unfortunately our visibility has made us a target, and it’s not just trans people who can recognise another trans person anymore. So can everyone else.
It doesn’t matter how well a trans man passes, they can still get clocked. It doesn’t matter if a trans man has had every single surgery and started HRT and has a full fucking beard and everything, because even one slight indication of his transness will be noticed, and these comments were fucking disgusting. Constant misgendering, talking about how he’d mutilated himself, mocking his voice and how he looked, sending death threats to him.
AND AGAIN. WE DON’T EVEN KNOW IF HE WAS TRANS. THE VIDEO HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. But it didn’t matter. Society saw what they wanted to see, and they were out for blood. Thousands of comments. Thousands of views. This wholesome video turned into a transphobic witchhunt, all because of how this guy sounded.
Stop insisting that trans men always pass easily, because this can be the reality for even the most passing trans men. Sometimes our voices don’t change on T, or sometimes they’re slightly nasally or high-pitched and a transphobe or TERF who’s spent years obsessing over the “tells” of a trans person will hear that and come straight after us. Sometimes surgery doesn’t work, sometimes HRT doesn’t work, sometimes we don’t medically transition, sometimes we can’t medically transition, sometimes we don’t want to pass as cis, or we can’t pass as cis, and sometimes… sometimes we do. Sometimes we do everything, and it works, and we pass, and yet still people will notice us. They will transvestigate us. And god forbid they decide we’re trans from the moment we open our mouths.

listen buddy if you're completely okay with people headcanoning a male character as a butch lesbian or a transfem then you gotta be completely okay with people headcanoning a female character as a fem-presenting gay man or a transmasc too idc if you find it 'misogynistic' or 'lesbophobic' because it's not

Outlast is one of those games I can talk in circles about especially the first one. I think two lacks in what made outlast good, and outlast trials simply isn't really one to consider with the original game ( co-op horror, online experience, that whole deal.) Outlast and its dlc though, oooo I have so many a thought.
Story in which everyone is a victim no matter what they did in the life before, they may have been a monster but once in that asylum they to are another victim in the capitalism machine that is murkoff. Broken people or ones who murkoff just wanted to get rid of, destroyed and abused by a system that at least some of them were put there to be helped by.
Like the pyro in the cafeteria says, the people put there are what's seen as "dregs" of society and because they are there and seen as subhuman by the populous, Murkoff treats them however they want.
Its truly such a interesting story I could dissect over and over.
#i love the other outlast titles but 1 and whistleblower just feel so special to me#<- prev YES GODDD I LOVE THEM SM

Many ppl don't realise that "consuming media critically" doesn't mean having to write an essay where you list every bad or problematic thing about it or risk getting your media consumption right revoked. It means viewing things with an understanding of what is skewed by bias and bigotry, and not letting those things alter your own perception of other people just by means of consuming the media. It means accepting that even things that seem good can be propaganda or prejudice, it means being vigilant about the things depicted in media that you automatically accept as true or accurate
