How would a tropical Rito settlement look like in a BOTW/TOTK era Zelda verse?🌴🪶

LONG READ/RAMBLE BUT STILL! This was fun to think about! The south of Hyrule is already tropical with Faron and South Nucledea (Lurelin Village), so it makes sense that the culture from those outside regions could spill/originate from further south.

Rito would most likely build on a cliffside shoreline or somewhere tucked in the jungle as a natural barrier. Their ability to fly (obviously) means they could reach these places, but the village still has to be open enough for ground dwellers to visit. If Hebra’s Rito is open and wooden, I wonder if a tropical branch would even look that open at all!

I made an extremely quick low effort mock up of what it could look like. This isn't the final version of course but still.

Imagine cliffside shorelines, jungle nooks, places built for flying and visiting on foot. If Rito Village in Hyrule is open and wooden, imagine the tropical branch leaning into bamboo, palm thatch, driftwood, and seaside stone. Stilted huts, carved cliff homes, rope bridges, ladders and canopy walkways so Hylians don’t need wings to explore (flight is exhausting, ok?).

Quick worldbuilding notes:

Slanted roofs + woven fabric everywhere because the rain is CONSTANT. (I know this from experience 0-0)

Status = height. Higher hut = higher status. Same vibes as Hyrule's branch but island edition.

Culturally? Louder, brighter, way more music. Tropical birds are already like this! (Loud and EXTRA.) Drums, flutes, singing. Fashion = saturated feathers, maybe even shells.

Food? Mostly fish and fruit. Imagine Rito dragging giant nets, or diving like gannets. Shells as decor/jewelry.

Trade is bigger here! Docks, routes, more sailors or merchants dropping by. Outsiders either enter at sea level or through the cliffside bridges and climb up, while the Rito keep the aerial shortcuts for themselves.

Random personal thingy: I’m Filipino-blooded and have traveled across a few Pacific islands, so a lot of this is inspired by those places too! If you have other headcanons, drop em! I wanna hear em! I’m also planning to sketch a concept of this for a Rito OC village outside of Hyrule soon 👀
