List of"modern" LCD/TFT flat panel monitors and TVs that can display the Low/Med Res video output from an Atari ST without the need for any active components such as scan converters:
I pretty much gathered this list from http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Flat_Panel_Displays which would seem to be the fruits this thread’s labour: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/230561-lcd-monitor-that-supports-st-low-res-nec-multisync-lcd-1970vx/ ..The Wiki doesn’t seem to be working correctly as of this post and all information was gathered from it’s source. I haven’t followed any of the other resources on this this subject because at a casual glance they seem to include Amiga functionality and I am looking specifically for monitors that will work with Atari ST and didn’t want to confuse myself with what seems to be information constructed with scattered anecdotal evidence, monitor’s with varying revisions and differences in the regions of manufacture etc
I have been searching for a cheap monitor to display the low and medium resolutions of my Atari ST 1040fm. I already have an Atari SM124 black and white CRT monitor which displays the higher resolutions nicely, and am able to display the lower resolutions via the RF output jack, though the quality of the image is disappointing to say the least. I was interested in using some paint programs and would prefer to view the lower resolutions on something less noisy, so I selfishly altered the original list to only include monitors and TVs that would (reportedly) sync to these. Again I haven’t even seen any of these particular monitors so I’m using this list as a guide. I have spent approximately 50 dollars on monitors that don’t work for these purposes.
