I like how Silver is the personification of the silver needle that stabbed aurora and put her to sleep and he even has the cutest little ahoge to go with it like. I think that's one of the most creative things I've ever seen.
AND he's a knight! With a stabby sword!
Edit: correction, SPINDLE not a needle, my b

Thoughts on Episode 4 of Masquerade
Can you still believe that this is not the last part yet? I can't.
In general, I absolutely love that this part really makes the characters shine, especially the SSR characters.
Epel gets to protect Riddle using his UM!! Riddle makes himself the bait at first but eventually he gets affected by the flowers, so Epel protects him. It just makes me so proud of how far Epel had come from the start of the game. We can discuss and argue about the semantics of Epel having a UM during Halloween when he got it around Feb-March (when chapter 6 is supposedly set), but honestly, it doesn't really matter to me when we get to see this kind of growth from him. 🥹
Riddle willing to sacrifice himself 🥺 he's truly such a noble character. He also mentions how the Queen of Hearts would march into battle. An allusion to the live action Alice in Wonderland? :0
Ruggie and Jamil are the bastards as always. They use their UMs to make the NBC students as bait, and I think that's pretty funny of them. Go boys, do what you need to do.
Actually, I'm pretty surprised that they're all using their UMs when the flowers would absorb their magic. UMs use up a lot of power too, I'd think that that would be such a risky move.
Deuce protecting Idia from the falling chandelier!! That part made me feel so proud of him. He got a twisted ankle from it, though. 😭 It also kind of mirrors how Meg pushed Hercules away from the falling pillar in the Hercules movie and ended up dead. So, Meg!Deuce??????
Can't leave this post without mentioning that brief cut to Ace going, "Man, everyone must be having a great time in NBC." then going back to Deuce aggressively weeding out plants.
Rook meanwhile... I love how he can be himself despite everything. 🥺 Idia volunteered to stay with Deuce just so he'd stop running, but Rook interprets that as him being grateful to Deuce for saving him. And then he even makes Deuce say 'oui'............ the rookification of Deuce Spade...................
Sebek, though! Thank him for actually calling out Idia's complaining. Idia complains about how he wasn't left behind, but Sebek yells at him for it since it's like he's sullying Deuce's efforts to save him. Which is fair honestly, I think I would have been the same in Sebek's place. 😂
And Silver! I love how he managed to protect Azul, and I also love how he was the one who calms everyone down. We stan a chill guy like Silver.
And the way that he and Sebek fight the flowers!! Both of them really just teamed up and went, "There's nothing we can lose to when we fight together." Like girl 😭 SebeSil stans got fucking fed this event, congratulations. They were even protecting each other, with Sebek going, "Silver behind you!" and Silver going, "Sebek, to your right!" Like bro 🥺 And the way that they both made it a competition to see who can take out the most flowers!!! I swear, they may act mature (kind of), but they are Boys at heart. They just have a little rivalry........
Now onto the three SSR characters because save the best for last.
I will proceed to be annoying for the next 5 bullet points.
First off, I just love how Azul's not afraid to call out on Idia's bullshit. 😂 "Please give up on giving up" and even making him move to the back of the line when it was just the three of them so that Idia actually does shit. I love how he has that bluntness, but it does come with the friendship too.
And secondly, the moment that I am still down bad for: Azul getting rid of the flowers without damaging the tower.
Fucking bear with me here: none of the other characters attempted to destroy the flowers because they would absorb their magic. It would take so much magical power to make them wither, and the only other person who was able to get rid of them was Malleus. And we already know how terrifyingly powerful Malleus is. And even then, that caused his power to get wiped out (makes you also wonder just how much flowers within the vicinity he was able to take out).
But then Azul was able to do it. He was able to do it guys, he did it.
What's more is that he did it without destroying any of the architecture. It takes a great amount of power to take out the flowers, and that could definitely damage the tower. In chapter 6, it was seen that his magic is very precise. And you really get to see this here, because Azul concentrated his magic on the flowers and ensured that it wouldn't touch any of the walls of the tower. So effectively, he was able to get rid of the flowers without compromising Idia's and Malleus' safety (and preventing them from paying NBC for damages lmao).
What I would even love to add to this is that when the flowers surrounded them at first, Malleus volunteered to take them out, but Azul stopped him so that he could conserve his energy. And he says he'd take it out, but then Idia tells him to just let Malleus do it. That caused Azul to yell at him to shut up and let him concentrate, but think right here: Can you imagine how much his ego probably got hurt because of that comment? Like, everyone is very well aware that the strongest person with them is Malleus, so of course you'd want him to do the biggest work. But imagine just hearing that over and over and having someone say the equivalent of "let him do it because he's the only one capable of doing it". That shit definitely would hurt his pride, and Azul just... proved it in front of the two of them that he was capable of taking out the flowers with his own magic.
And he got praised by the Malleus Draconia. Please, I'm so happy for him, you don't understand.
As for Idia, him being a bitch is understandably annoying, but it's also funny and a mood. There's so much to say here about him.
First of all, you really get to see his genius shine. When he was tasked with taking care of the flowers, he uses the handkerchiefs he bought to be bait for the flowers. They held a tiny bit of magic, but the thing is, Idia tinkered with them while he was drinking his grape juice earlier, so the handkerchiefs are now much stronger and contain more magic.
Also confetti whee
But more than that, when they read Rollo's diary, Idia went really silent. And it reached a point where Azul had to tell him that no matter what, Rollo is still their enemy. Like... poor guy. Whatever was in Rollo's diary impacted him so much. It's such a sharp juxtaposition from how self-centered he was the entire event. Suddenly, he's empathetic to the point that he couldn't say anything.
... though on that note, Rollo leaving his diary in the student board room of all places is pretty funny.
Anyway, onto Malleus. I really think he did so much this part.
Absolutely love how when Silver said "look at Malleus, be calm like him", he immediately says that he's thinking of how to make Rollo feel terrible for falsely inviting him. 😂 Go Malleus, beat his ass for wronging you like that. I fully support.
When he froze from the talking gargoyle!! That. Was so cute. Like, I was smiling a lot when the gargoyle was poking him 😭 and then Malleus just suddenly unfroze and then formally introduced himself. He looked so so happy, and that had to be the most adorable thing. 🥺 And he wanted to save the gargoyle when the flowers started growing around them... I felt so bad for him in that moment because he couldn't save someone dear to him.
You know, I really like that he couldn't save the gargoyle in that moment. I think one of my favorite things about how Malleus was written in this event is that we really see just how much people look up to him. They see him as this super powerful mage who should be the one to solve the problem at the end of the day. And Malleus is very well aware of his power and of how people perceive him. He takes it all in, and he expects himself to do the job done. That's why when it came to taking out the flowers, he was the first to volunteer.
Even in the entire game, Malleus was always looked up for being powerful. But here, it's not the case. He had his power drained to the point that he couldn't fly. We actually see Silver and Sebek being able to do their jobs as guards. And we see him having to rely on the others so that he could make it to the tower. When he was going to go to save the gargoyle, he had to be stopped by Azul and Idia because he needed to conserve his energy. And now, if he wants the gargoyle to be alright, he has to rely on the bell of salvation.
I kind of wonder how he feels about this. But it's also a pretty neat change of pace from the usual 'Malleus is all powerful' narrative. And it shows something more relatable about him. I don't know, I admit that I'm rambling, but yeah. I like Malleus' writing in this event, I'm really glad for it.

( !spoiler end of chapter 5 and manga! ) Hello! Here's my theory :D, but I maybe thinking it's Crowley who gave the overblot (his unique/ancient magic?) to people ( Also crow/raven is an omen sign in symbolism which makes him more sus. ), here's some foreshadowing i found on the manga? Also, i've made posts about his possible identity What do you think about that?
So sorry it took me quite awhile to answer, had to arrange my thoughts since this is quite a new part of the "Crowley is the one causing students to OB" theory for me
Also I'll be mentioning Chapter 6 spoilers so read at your own risk
Honestly I didn't know that there were at least hints of it in the manga, because I haven't read it yet so this caught my attention. Also I decided to read some of your posts about Crowley's identity and I find it really interesting, and I would like to add something about that.
So in Chapter 6, it was actually revealed that STYX was anonymously informed by someone to investigate the Overblot cases in NRC
(All translations provided are from Otome Ayui on Youtube)
It was also revealed that are only less than 10 students managed to Overblot in NRC in the last 100 years, and now 5 (+1 now since Idia did OB as well but it happened a little later) people overblotted in less than half a year, of course that would seem very suspiscious.
Which now leads to the main point
So that means that it is most likely possible to cause someone to overblot artificially and it's most likely a type of magic, however we don't know who is the one in possession of said magic (either it's a unique magic, like you mentioned in your ask or a magic that one needs to learn).
As for the case of Crowley, the dude just raises so many suspiscions that I won't even be surprised that he was the one causing all the overblots to begin with, but then again Crowley might have a reason for doing so, and it might be connected to why MC is stuck in Twisted Wonderland and/or Twisted Wonderland's existence in general.
And looking at the picture you sent me here I can see what you're talking about the foreshadowing. With the darkened expressions Grim and Riddle have that is awfully similar to Crowley's face with the mask on, and OB Riddle did have the same darkened expression as well, we can say that Crowley might have connections about the overblots.
ᴬˡˢᵒ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᵍᵘʸˢ ᵉᵛᵉʳ ᶦᵐᵃᵍᶦⁿᵉ ʰᵒʷ ᶜʳᵒʷˡᵉʸ ˡᵒᵒᵏˢ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ʷᶦᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ʰᶦˢ ᵐᵃˢᵏˀ
Overall, your theory is well thought of ☺, really had me using all my braincells out here, even went out of my way to watch translations again because I remembered that causing someone to artificially overblot was mentioned there.
Once again if you have more theories you have in mind or you simply want someone to talk to, you are free to slide into my ask box, but do note that there are times I won't respond quickly due to timezones.

@llondonfog made me overthink again and now here we go with another Silver analysis
Alright so we all know that Silver is connected to mirrors and/or the aspect of mirroring. Which is already obvious with the constant mirroring you see between Silver and Sebek, and bits of mirroring from Malleus as well (see the groovies of their halloween cards for more details). And we all know how a mirror works right? it's an object used to reflect images.
Now hear me out on this one, Silver mirrors the people all around him, but he can't see himself on his own reflection. Because as he continues to mirror other people, he loses a part of himself as he shapes himself to suit the other party's taste. Silver's entire being is molded by Lilia, not himself. Notice how he does a lot of things not for himself, but with the intention of proving himself to be of use to Malleus and Lilia as a way to repay them for raising him. It's like Silver cares so much about other people that he doesn't care about his own well-being.
Another thing I would like to bring up is Silver's motif with Mulan. Noted in Endless Halloween, he looks up to her. But I would like you to take a look at this a bit deeper. Specifically in Mulan's song "Reflection"
Look at me, I may never pass for a perfect bride, or a perfect daughter. Can it be, I'm not meant to play this part? Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart.
Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Somehow I cannot hide? Who I am, though I've tried. When will my reflection show, who I am, inside? How I pray, that a time will come, I can free myself, from their expectations On that day, I'll discover someway to be myself, and to make my family proud.
So we know from the film, Mulan was against the thought of femininity at the beginning. Seeing that she will break her family's heart if she acts the way she really is. Mulan thinks that the reflection she sees is not her. If we connect this to Silver, then we can say that they both have a connection in terms of the true self not being seen as well as the need to bring their family honor.
I just really want Chapter 7 to make Silver explore himself more, maybe get him to care about himself in the same way he cares about others. He may die earlier than his family, but he has still has the time to create memories with them right?
Last part was clearly rushed but I have exams to study on so ima end it here for now
#THIS MADE ME CRY#damn it SILVER#IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE#I WANT TO HUG HIM#DIASOMNIA ANGST IS COMING#AND IM NOT PREPARED#SILVER DESERVES THE WORLD

Ace Twisted Wonderland Theory:
I was going to explain why i think Ace is not a traitor in the game, but this one theory took up most of my time, and it’s too crazy not to share. I think I am the first to come up with this idea, but if not I am glad to know another person thought this too then. That being I think I know what character Ace is the Twisted character of. I believe Ace might be a Twisted Wonderland version of king Arthur from the disney movie, “Sword in the stone”. I know it’s really out there but I will go over step by step why I believe this, and why it might hold up. I am not saying this is a fact, but a theory. A theory I did for fun, but the more and more I found out the more I feel it lines up to being the case. Know if I am wrong with new information that comes out with the game, then I am wrong, and I am okay with it, and what ever the game gives up I will be cool with as well. Also if I did something wrong in this post, then please point it out. I want to learn from my mistakes, and do better in the future when doing these theories. Spoilers: I am going to use some facts from the game as well as what we know in JP so far. So if you don’t want to read the theory because of spoiler reasons, then you don’t have to. I will admit I don’t know what the beta notes for Ace was, since It’s hard to find a translation of it. Lastly I am going to go down the list of where these thoughts came from and where it ended, but with that all said on with the theory.

here are the rhythmic sds, represented by the ssr boys!! these ones were handled a bit oddly - everyone aside from these three (and grim) all have a single animation that includes the extra screen space that they move around in, so they each only have one gif that is unfortunately rather enormous. they should all be in there though!! the folder also includes the red hooded flower sds from the battle part, just to keep all the event stuff together. :3
rhythmic bgm (i had some trouble with this one but i believe it is correctly sequenced now) / all animations/still renders

Octavinelle's Relationship Regarding Esmeralda's Necklace
"When you wear this woven band, you hold the city in your hand."
In the Glorious Masquerade event, Azul, Epel, and Deuce go shopping around for souvenirs. In one shop, they encounter a seller who is selling what looks to be the band Esmeralda gifts Quasimodo. The City of Flowers sadly doesn't know the meaning of the charm anymore, but Azul buys it for Jade and Floyd.
Here's where it gets interesting—before Esmeralda says the quote above, she gives the necklace to Quasimodo, saying: "If you ever need sanctuary, this will show you the way."
The charm as we know it is actually a map of the city with the location of the Court of Miracles marked on it. But the significance of this charm is that rather than it being the object used to lead one to the Court of Miracles, it's the object used to guide one to sanctuary. It's the object that Quasimodo uses to find Esmeralda later in the movie.
And now apply that meaning to Octavinelle. Azul is gifting that very same necklace to Jade and Floyd. That same necklace that isn't just a map to the Court of Miracles but a way to find once more the person who gave that necklace to them.
Without knowing the meaning of the charm, Azul is giving them that necklace as a silent way of telling them: "If you ever need sanctuary, this will show you the way. Just remember, when you wear this woven band, you hold the city in your hand." Azul is silently giving them a way to find him again if they ever need sanctuary.
🧍 so anyway thank you and fuck you to the person who made the decision to write that in the event

Something tells me that Malleus' backstory is going to consist of his parents being absent probably due to death, his grandmother not being emotionally available throughout most of his life because of her duty as a Queen, the fear of losing Lilia, people running away from him or not getting close to him because of his powers and his title. Then he wakes in Lilia's arms after his overblot.

What if……we (Yuu/player) were isekai’d into Twisted Wonderland bc of Malleus? He wished so hard for a friend or someone to understand him (and potential lover huehehe) that we ended up being summoned into this world.
Honestly this is so possible? Personally it's the plot in my head too hhhh
It's really weird that Yuu just woke up one day in Twst without any explanation whatsoever, so there must be a reason right?? Also, there's that time loop theory because Malleus doesn't want Yuu to go home............
