i've wanted to do this in past years, but just never found the time. well. i found the time, so! i have made pride icons of the mane 6! i did several flags for each pony, and i am just going to reply to this post with each set of them, i guess?

i also made one icon per horse that is colored in using the pride flag colors instead of canon colors. i am willing to make more of these for US$10 apiece (of the mane 6, that is). if you want an OC pride icon, i'll do those for US$45 (:

finally came to a prototype design of vanity that i liked. originally, she was going to be silver and black, but brown is soooo pretty.

these characters are part of a sci-fi comic i will hopefully one day make.

a friend of mine wanted to roleplay hazbin characters as warrior cats. considering how batshit insane that would turn out, i said i'd be willing to give it a try. i haven't roleplayed in years, by far warrior cats, and i've never roleplayed a canon character in a fandom roleplay so. lots of weird new things to try out.

anyway, here are a few sketches of lucifer and velvette. i'm not, like, the best character designer on the planet (obviously), but having pre-existing designs to play with -- and some basic color limitations -- definitely made the task much less daunting.

these guys are unlikely to remain looking like this, but i wanted to share anyway!

continuation of the nonsense posted about before

kitty's living room - in part

i was going to make a "quick" six-page comic as a test for a larger project the other day, and i do still plan to. it's nothing crazy; it's set in the main character's apartment -- mostly on the BALCONY, actually -- and her girlfriend is talking to her. even considering the sci-fi setting, i didn't think i needed to go into overdrive about what the city looked like, since i could theoretically just go for an aesthetic i like for now.

yeah, well, no, as it turns out, i felt the incredible need to know what her apartment building looks like AND exactly what her entire apartment looks like.

since this ties into a larger project, i didn't feel guilty giving into my screaming, crying, sobbing brain. check out some concepts under the cut.

to start with, so you have some context for this whole thing, the main character of this project is a winged caracal lady named kitty.

her girlfriend is a genet named vanity. i don't have a reference for her yet (you better believe it'll probably get done before this six-page test comic does though lol)

kitty lives on a planet named holdco and is lucky enough to have some disposable income due to the unique nature of her ability and how that ties to her profession.

anyway, here's her apartment building

on the front view, the little building with an orange dome is agricultural, food processing, and a grocery store. the thin, tall red building is full of efficiency apartments.

the top dome is like a little park. at the top of that dome, supported by the main building, is a landing pad for small spacecraft and hovercars. there are smaller pieces under the main piece that are like a parking lot for the residents.

the light in kitty's town, though, is pink, because it's under a pink dome. so... the building would look more like this

not fully committed to the colors & as you can tell, the red building got moved around on the side view so. we'll see lol

anyway, after i made the building, i knew what shape it was and where the windows were. yay! that meant that i could make kitty's apartment's floorplan (after, of course, mapping out the floor she lives on... but i erased that, so it's gone forever.)

included is a little doodle looking from about where the dining room is over to the entryway. there's also a tiny little doodle in the rop corner of the endtables placed in kitty's bedroom lol

and yeah her bed is just ... in the middle of her bedroom. she's weird.

the little comic i want to make takes place on the balcony with some of the framing taking place in the living room, so i decided to draw kitty's living room.

i'm still not done with this part, but observe:

i like giving anthro characters animal traits besides their appearances. kitty claws the fuck out of her furniture and walls (you can see some of her scratches that i decided to put in so far) and likes to climb. vanity is even MORE into climbing since genets are semi-arboreal, so they're both big fans of the human-sized cat platforms.

general decor is some unholy amalgamation of mcm, the late 80s/early 90s, and some touches of more "modern" looks. i'm likely going to mess with the platforms some more to make them a bit more visually interesting, like the weird coffee table lol

also so many more personal affects to go in. i see the big appeal of drawing characters' houses now, because you really have to think about what they'll have in their space. for example, vanity and kitty both like stuffed animals, but i have no fucking idea what kind they'll like or even what would be available in a sci-fi corporate hellhole.

anyway, if i do actually finish this illustration (or at least color it), i'll be sure to share it with y'all.
