can you explain the graduate program a bit more in detail?

Hi! Here are some things to keep in mind about the graduate programs:

Yeonghwa offers mostly M.F.A.s, which lean more toward honing performance/creative skills; M.A.s, on the other hand, focus on academic concepts and analysis

IRL, M.A.s usually take 1-2 years to complete; M.M.s and M.T.A.s take 2 years; M.F.A.s and M.Arch.s take 2-3 years;

For the sake of uniformity, we’ll say M.A.s, M.M.s, M.F.A.s, and M.T.A.s take 2 years to complete, while M.Arch.s take 3 years

Beyond that, there’s really not much difference between how we envision graduate programs in Yeonghwa and how they actually happen in real life. Hopefully this cleared things up a bit, and if you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to send another ask.

ideas for jobs under the work-study program??

Hi! Here are some job opportunities for the work-study program:

Administrative assistants (mostly clerical work, making phone calls/answering phones, filing papers, running office errands, etc.)

Departmental office assistants (job description similar to that of administrative assistants; ex. student hires in the Department of Dance assist in room set-ups, ushering for performances, clerical work, etc.)

IT assistants

Facilities and building management

Mailroom attendants

Library assistants

Peer tutors

Social media assistants

Though this is by no means a comprehensive list. If you have other job ideas, feel free to run them by us! Note that work-study employment is defined as temporary and part-time, and students working under this program are not considered eligible for fringe benefits, overtime, holiday, or compensatory pay.

NOTE: There are also establishments within Yeonghwa that are already recognized in canon: DaBean, for example, is a coffee shop located in Yongeun Residence Hall, and it’s possible for students to find employment there. However, it wouldn’t be considered part of the work-study program because DaBean is a private establishment.

Hello! So far, we’ve come up with the following:

Cocky overachievers everyone wants to punch

Hard-ass RAs who take nobody’s shit, might cut you at the knees;

Also cool, laid-back RAs who let you get away with everything

Really bratty fac-brats (children of faculty members), but also fac-brats who wouldn’t be caught dead within ten feet of their fac-parent

Kids trying to get out of the shadow of family members who are well-known in their field/industry

Seniors second-guessing their life choices...is this really what they want to be doing for the rest of their lives? Cue existential crisis

Sleep-deprived students who seem to be permanent fixtures in coffee shops

The begrudged who would much rather be anywhere else (but are here, nonetheless)

Student leaders perpetually struggling to get admin support for proposed projects...bureaucracy is a Bitch

Also, student leaders who are in it mainly for the financial compensation

Students in the work-study program seizing their chance to kiss ass;

Alternatively, students who hate the faculty/admin’s guts

Celebrated prodigies in childhood, now burnt out adults; but also adults regaining their sense of purpose

Just normal, well-functioning people are fine, too ^^

Hello! A few clarifications regarding in-character housing for the muses. We apologize for not stating this explicitly in the application form, but KX Residence Hall is reserved for fourth year undergraduate students and graduate students who opt to live on-campus. That is actually what we meant by “upperclassmen.” As mentioned, simply indicate if your character lives on-campus and we will do the sorting ourselves. Don’t worry if you’ve sent an app in – we’ll edit it for your convenience! Roommate assignments will be generated using a randomizer, so watch out for that 👀 hopefully your character gets paired with someone they can get along with...or maybe not?

TL;DR:

Just indicate if your character lives on-campus; we’ll do the sorting ourselves

First year undergrads are sorted into Haeun Residence Hall

Second and third year undergrads are sorted into Yongeun Residence Hall

Fourth year undergrads and graduate students are sorted into KX Residence Hall

As for characters who will be living off-campus, it’s totally possible to not reside in the listed locations (i.e. Kostess House, Auntie Haesook’s Hasukjib). Maybe they live with their parents or room with others in an entirely different location; it’s all up to you!
