honestly obsessed with the idea of a nonhuman f/o being excited to get their hands on you for the first time. them gently grasping your face and tilting it this way and that, to see the way the light plays across your features. marvelling at your hair, or lack thereof, trailing their digits over your scalp. remarking on how soft/squishy/tough/sturdy your body is compared to theirs, absolutely fascinated by the colour and texture of your skin. playing with your hands and fingers curiously. just them being so eager to familiarise themselves with your body (and hey, this could go for a human f/o with a nonhuman s/i too)

1. Talk about the first time you and your f/o met. How was it like?

I killed someone in front of him! :) my y7 insert is Spicy and i always think of them in terms of being a companion in his next game so they're very self-indulgently competent. they're just kind of a general freelance Crime Boi who ichiban approached for. assistance??? recruitment i guess????? and some jackass was Very Rude to me so i stabbed him a little. ichi was not a huge fan.

2. How long did it take for you and your f/o to gain feelings for each other? Was it fast or did the feelings grow slowly? Who was the first to get romantic feelings? 

ichiban was genuinely earnestly nice to me one (1) time and i fell in love with him immediately. it happened within like a week of us meeting. this is also probably how it would go if i met him irl.

ichi had to take some time to get over my murdery ways, and my s/i is very much a closed book, so it took him a lot longer. it's a one sided slow burn

9. Before dating, did either of you ever have any embarrassing moments? (Examples: Socially awkward moments, almost accidentally revealing your feelings to them, being clumsy, etc.)

the issue with making a bar your base of operations is that everybody gets drunk Way Too Often and i am a sappy drunk. there are many potentially embarrassing near misses, but luckily ichiban is, canonically, completely fucking oblivious, so it's just the rest of the party (and The Bartender) who get to take the piss the next day. there's quite a bit of general awkwardness on his end once he catches feelings too, but the biggest Moment was when the party hit the town one night and i joked abt wanting one of the golden retriever plushies from the claw machine. ichi drunkenly blew all of his pocket change trying and failing to win one for me. he was very upset and i had to pretend i wasn't also a little bit upset. neither of us heard the end of it from the other fuckers in the party for weeks afterwards.

1. Talk about the first time you and your f/o met. How was it like?

in a word, brief. he was my landlord, bc of course he was, so the first time we met was just to have me sign paperwork and for him to hand me the keys before he swanned off to throw firecrackers at people or shoot golf balls off the pier or whatever bullshit he was up to. was my first thought upon seeing him a resounding "GILF" followed by immediate disgust with myself? perhaps, but that was about it.

4. Was there a special moment between you guys that got you to realize you had feelings for them? Was it a deep conversation, spending more quality time with them or something else? How about vice versa?

there was a day when he showed up at my apartment bc my rent payment was late - not because i didn't have it, but i literally just fucking forgot. i invited him in while i went to get my checkbook (only 90s kids remember) and he immediately made himself at home, poking around my stuff, making shitty little comments abt my decor and being very interested in my pet axolotl. meanwhile i was wondering why i was so nervous about having him there, thinking "is this just regular, my-weird-landlord-is-in-my-living-room nerves? or is it oh my GOD." and threw my checkbook across the room in a moment of pure stupidity-inducing panic.

it took calvin A While. it took him long enough to even see me as a potential romantic prospect bc unlike his brother he's not usually interested in a relationship with someone considerably younger than himself. but as he saw me around town more often, got to know me a little, and noticed i would reciprocate his casual flirting (i flirt with people as a joke a lot it's kind of a problem honestly), he started to take more of an interest and eventually had a quiet moment of "oh, this is happening huh."

6. How did you react once you realized you had feelings for them? Were you calm, stressed, in denial, etc.? Vice versa?

me @ my heart: oh fuck. i can't believe you've done this.

cal took it in stride, naturally. and then immediately asked if i wanted to bone, which i did not for obvious reasons.

17. How was it like once you’ve officially confessed each others’ feelings?

WEIRD. our early relationship was complicated and there were A Lot of difficult things to navigate - the age gap, him being my landlord, his quasi-celebrity status in town, me being queer in ways he wasn't really familiar with, him being a rich bastard when i came from a working class family. all of which just speaks to how determined we were to make it work, really. but once we'd worked around or done away with most of those obstacles, we quickly became frankly disgusting to be around. we're sickening tbh. we're in Love love. also im More Evil now! :^)

awkward! we obviously met the first time i made it to the reef and i was so excited to meet some good bugs who didn't immediately try to stab me that i was WAY too eager and overly friendly and berated myself for it the entire flight back to earth. for his part variks didn't really notice bc he thinks all guardians are just weird as hell by default. he's technically not wrong.

13. Are either of you good at hiding you feelings, or are you very obvious about them?

im generally pretty good at hiding feelings due to my default position being "they are not interested in you, move on from this immediately" which kind of takes the pressure out of interactions. I will sometimes slip up though, maybe staring a bit too long or, more frequently, losing my train of thought or tripping over my words when he does that awful blocked-drain laugh of his that i love so much

variks is also very good at hiding his feelings, partially out of necessity and partially bc he is. oh my god so old. he's had plenty of practice. though he can't always stop himself from making happy little noises when im around, or muttering incriminating things in e.liksni when i surprise him by saying something affectionate like the big fat sap i am.

15. Does anyone else know about your feelings for your f/o? Did they find out on their own, or did you go to them? How about vice versa? Does anyone else know about your f/o’s feelings for you?

my ghost knows, obviously. he can read me like a book and has also y'know. been there for every excruciating stuttering moment. he Does Not understand it, makes very much fun of me, will play here comes the bride to tell me there's a fallen trying to flank me when we're in the field. can be as bastardly as he likes with impunity bc he knows i can't and won't do shit to him >:^(

as for variks, i don't think anyone knows. petra has suspicions that he's becoming close with someone, presumably a guardian, but nothing concrete.
