Devastation | Oz Self Para

Oz had been numb. As the verdict was read, as the testimonials were read, speaking of the loss endured. He wanted to scream - he had done nothing to that sweet girl. Except, horrifyingly, he had. By getting involved with her at all, that poor, sweet girl was now gone. To someone, she had been an acceptable loss and that idea cut deeply. 

Did he deserve to be in prison? Perhaps. For other crimes. He had no delusions as to his innocence in general. But for this, no. No he did not. When he closed his eyes at night, he could see her face and slowly it became a tumble of others. Others he had harmed by his very presence in their lives. Ginny. Valeria. Evie. Oh Megan. The harms he had done that good woman. 

And now as he watched the news in his shiny new prison cell, having been transferred from the local jail upon sentencing. Maximum security for dangerous Dominants like him. Monsters. He was one of them now.

He watched as his City burned and finally, at last, he wept.

“What do you mean?” she asked quickly though aware there was possibly a limit to what he could or would tell her.  There was something of a relief to be able to move on to subjects she knew the answers to and to give some good news.  “Yes Cade and Drew are going to be fathers.  The surrogate is doing well from what they have said.  I believe the baby is due around February/ March time.  Lucio is still with him and shows no sign of the relationship waning.  At the moment though it is very much about choosing our battles though, as you know and since Lucio is neither unhappy or in immediate physical danger I don’t feel the need to interfere.”  She knew Oz would hate the match of Lucio with any Capulet but Tybalt in particular however the submissive was as happy as she had ever seen him and in the current climate she could only wish more people felt that way.  “I do have another piece of good news.  Diana came to see me, she is also pregnant and due in early March,” Martina informed him.

Oz shook his head lightly, “I hope that soon I will be able to tell you everything but now is not the time. I will say ... be careful. Someone has access to the Tower and they have ill intentions. Protect the office and your personal space zealously. That is all I will say on the matter.” 

Now there was a piece of excellent news. A genuine bit of happiness. “Ah that is well done. It’ll be the second little one to arrive from the Decree and both Montagues to date. Now that is a delight indeed.” The news about Diana was also good. It pleased him that she was doing well and he had always thought she would make a devoted mother. “Wonderful ... those are blessings. Keep a discreet eye on Lucio. He isn’t the type to seek support if ... when ... things take an unfortunate turn. And he will need it.”
