“ Wish I could be a ghost Pokemon sometimes... it’d be nice t’ disappear when I’d like.” Looks like someone’s been thinking too much about his last gym battle. He got lost in it in the moment, but remembering it all in hindsight, especially catching some of it on TV, seeing some of the post-battle emails...

“ ... ‘s hard bein’ a gym leader. ” Not that it wasn’t worth it, but... well, his thoughts varied at times.

Hi dracovish! Are you taking asks? If so, what do you think about curry? Do you like it? Is there one specific that you like?

“ ASK… ”

It… didn’t seem unwilling to answer; but in truth, it had too many questions of its own. It wondered if it even would know how to answer.

Still, hearing the question the stranger had to offer, the Dracovish’s response came rather easily, actually.

“ WHAT IS… CURRY. ”

ooc;; Y’know - I thought my inability to find any Gloria icons was going to totally nerf this blog. And at first? Absolutely did.

ooc;; But my friends got me into yet another gay anime and it’s working out a lot more than I expected.

" Oi. Glori. " ... A pause. Marnie realizes she had just used what might count as a nickname. She clears her throat, pressing her hand to her face to assess. "-- Gloria. Really enjoyed our battle th'other day. 'Elped me figure out some've my own weaknesses." Another pause. She bites the inside of her cheek slightly. "You - uh. Ya' 'ad anythin' t'eat? Feelin' empty meself, could use somethin' t'bite. "

… Glori? Gloria’s mind caught that name as soon as it was said, simply due to how unexpected it was to hear. For her cheekiness, Gloria would play it nice and assume it was a slip of the tongue as she corrected herself, Gloria’s brief look of mild surprise replaced with a more standard smile at Marnie’s presence.

“ ‘m ‘appy it’s helped ye’. ‘m hopin’ tha’ means ye’re gonna be even tougher next time we start fightin’! ” Adjusting the bag on her back, her face lights up just a bit as the offer to head out to eat comes up (and not just because she’s hungry).

“ Wouldn’ ye know it, ‘ve been feelin’ peckish m’self. ” She takes a moment to trot up to her rival with a cheerful tone. “ Wot’d ye ‘ave in mind? ‘m no’ picky, Marn… ie. ”

Yeah, no, that wasn’t gonna work.

Down’t know if I could call ‘er a friend much as I can a rival - but I’d be pretty ‘appy if she called me ‘un, honestly. )

“ Y’know, I wasn’t too big on this Galar place at first, what with all the steel n’ metal... ”

“ But with all these trainers roamin’ around, ready to share that curry stuff they like making? Safe to say I’ve changed my tune~! ”

ooc;; Dracovish should never have been released to the wild... but then, it never should have existed to begin with.

This Dracovish is not a trainer-owned Pokemon... unfortunately. Thanks to the ever-so-appreciated efforts of Ms. Liss, and her increasing arrogance that she knew what she was doing - it was all too easy now to take two fossils, stick them together, and be all too ready for the being to integrate itself into a wild Pokemon habitat. Not... necessarily morally or legally correct, but she’ll die on the hill she’s doing nothing wrong.

ooc;; It’s been... struggling, to say the least. Few Pokemon are willing to not be terrified of it, it can’t sort out what it is or why it is, it’s had trouble even eating or breathing... to be perfectly honest, it’s life expectancy on its own isn’t even a year - and despite that being a sub-amount, that’s still generous.

It is doing the best it can with what it’s got, and it doesn’t want to die so it’s getting by, but... well. It’s a bit of a mess.

          For a moment, all the Braixen could do was just stand there. Befuddled and confused beyond belief. Just…what the hell was this thing? It looked worse than an Archeops. And that’s saying something.

          All in all though, he wasn’t going to eat her. For now. He said he wasn’t hungry? Which was good in her opinion. It meant she could roam around for a bit longer.

         “…..Name’s Nicole. ‘m a Braixen I guess? From…I’m from far away. Are youse from here?”

“ NICOLE? ”

Dracovish pauses for a moment, as though needing the time to register the name; before it speaks further.

“ NOT FROM. DON’T KNOW... ”

What was its home? Home? Did it have home? Did it? It had simply found itself here...

“ WHERE... AM, NICOLE? DON’T KNOW... ”

It was lost... though, could it truly be lost if there was nowhere it would feel “found”?

Dracovish is a mix of two very simple-minded predators ( though fortunately, the -vish side of itself was lucky enough to be an omnivore, so it gets by with berries - since it doesn’t have the stomach for either half’s main targets anymore ) who lived in some very simple social environments - as such, its emotional range, despite underlying complexity, ultimately doesn’t register as anything more than just a mindless creature living.

It’s not depressed over its personal struggling because it doesn’t even know how to feel that way. The mixed feelings it has on its existence confuse it entirely, and part of the reason it gets so easily distracted from musing is because it’s unused to needing to muse in the very place. Draco- was a social predator, a menace on land with no experience in the sea, primarily focused on chasing down prey Pokemon and traveling in small packs; -vish was a dim fish Pokemon in the mid-depths of the ocean that was simply so thick-skinned and hard to chomp down on that it never really had to think.

Basically this thing has emotions, but its understanding of its emotional range in the more advanced Pokemon society of modern times is... limited.

          She gazes curiously at the absolute abomination of a creature in front of her, shuffling ever so close so as to inspect it. Reading its mind, sensing its emotions, she felt no innate hostility, at least, none ingrained. Caution was important - so she does not do anything. Not yet.

“ You hurt, Draco… vish. You hurt - and I hear you. “ “ Cry to me. Cry to me too. “

          A sense of downtrodden emotion begins to fill the air..

“ CRY...? ”

It stands there blankly - well, more blankly than the limited expressions of its face can allow - seeming to process the words of the other. Confusion, sadness, broken... those emotions...

“ NO... CRY. NO... WATER. ”

It was enough effort seeing through the limited moisture surrounding its eyes... even if it meant to comply with the other Pokemon’s request, it wouldn’t be comfortable. Did it even understand? Why would it hope to cry? It didn’t need to cry... did it?

“ YOU... KNOW? KNOW... DRACOV... VISH...? ”

An odd question to ask, but in its short, new existence, it felt so contradicted on everything. It did not exist so soon - yet it has nothing before its “life” began. It was alive... yet it felt unreal. It embraced land... yet welcomed sea. It embraced solitude... yet welcomed company? What was wrong?

This Pokemon spoke of its emotions... she could answer its questions, right?

“ RUN... NO. NOT H UNGRY... ”

Or was it? Maybe...? At the very least, it didn’t have any compulsion to chase the Pokemon in front of it. Or... maybe it did? It didn’t know...! Why didn’t it know? Was it just hoping to be friendly, or...?

“ AM DRACO... V... VISH. ”

Was it... trying to make a friend?

Dracovish is an abomination in just about every way, and it feels like one, too. Every facet of its existence simply feels wrong.

Despite the land speed it’s capable of, it roams slowly because using legs simply doesn’t feel right to itself. Wind resistance feels like the resistance of water, so it has to remind itself that movement is based on the strength of its feet pressing on the ground, not the pushing of fins. This also causes it to trip over itself quite constantly.

This Dracovish, fortunately, can breathe on land; just, in a way that doesn’t feel right, either. At times it has to make itself breathe land air, because the instincts of its head tell it to be pulling in water instead. When he has to think about breathing - it remembers again just how much effort it takes to do so as it takes in more breaths of air. Yes, even breathing doesn’t feel right to it.

ooc;; ... But on the bright side, it happens to be a very simple-minded fellow. Has no trouble getting distracted from overthinking its existence and making (very simple) conversation with curious Pokemon, or searching for a body of water to stick its head in for a time... it’s a very bright side, because left with nothing but silent and its own thoughts, it would very likely collapse under the weight of pondering what it’s even supposed to be.
