it's been a really long time but i needed a break. months of protesting out on the streets dealing with police brutality and arrests and then testing positive for covid, almost ending up in a hospital and losing two family members because of corona can exhaust you pretty bad lol

but! the demo is being rewritten right now. i took some time to change some things in the plot and characters and i love the story how it is now. im alnost done with chapter 3 whoch has almost 80k words so that's a lot! I'm actually planning on updating the demo when i have chapter 4 written at least in half so i can keep the breaks between updates shorter.

thank you all for your messages!! im not gonna respond to all of them just not to spam but it really means a lot and i appreciate all of them.

anyways! my exam session is coming soon but you can expect an updated demo in late may/june/early july!

Hey, you haven’t posted anything in a while so i just wanted to check in and see if you’re alright? :)

Hi! I’m gonna use this ask as an update for all of you.

In short: yes, I am alright. Kind of. 

I got really sick at the beginning of October and then it got worse, my fever was really high, I had to get tested for covid. Fortunately it wasn’t corona but bronchitis. I’m still recovering and feeling a lot better now but the coughing is not going away.  On top of that, I started a new major - psychology, which is one of the hardest to get in and study at my uni. And then, the political situation in my country isn’t stable. We’ve been protesting for over 10 days, every day there are tens of thousands of people on the streets. 

So all of this is really taking a toll on me. I’m too exhausted, waking up early in the morning, having online lectures and then protesting in the evening. Every single day. In my free time I’m either studying or recharging my energy by watching kdramas because they’re too addictive. 

So yeah! FTS is on a semi-hiatus.I will come bak to writing, answering your asks and posting prompt stories soon, when I feel better and have more time on my hands. Now, it’s time to overthrow my government.

You've been watching the hand of the clock for ten minutes. You’ve already counted the floor and ceiling tiles (413 total), checked your messages thousand times and played a few rounds of a mobile game. It’s really addictive - something about killing your teammates in space is thrilling. You probably should uninstall it soon, it may be starting to become a bit worrying how much time you're spending on it.

Tapping your foot on the floor you huff out a breath. Leona is certainly taking her sweet time.

When she called you and Dakota for a quick meeting to go over some details of your new case you were supposed to start next week – a regular house call – she didn’t mention you would have to wait an hour for her to stop talking to other handlers.

So here you are, after pacing for a few minutes in front of the door and Dakota telling you to sit down because you were making her nauseous, sitting on a uncomfortable chair (honestly, with all the funding FASS has you would have thought they wouldn’t save on chairs).

“Stop it,” says Dakota after the hand of a clock goes around two times.

You look at her – she’s leaning her head on the wall, eyes closed. “Stop what?”

Dakota points to your leg and you stop bouncing it, leaning back on the wall. “This is taking forever.” 

“No, it’s not.”

You almost roll your eyes at her. Turning to look at Dakota closely, you squint. “It’s been an hour.” 

“You’ve literally spent five hours waiting for ghost activity the other day.” She looks into your eyes with a straight face.

You sigh and go back to counting the tiles. Again.

On the 52nd tile you notice Dakota combing her hand through her hair. On the 70th, she clears her throat. On the 94th, she tugs on the sleeve of her jacket while slightly fidgeting in her chair.

It would be normal – for someone else. But you know Dakota well enough to see that she’s getting impatient as well. Maybe even irritated.

You watch her closely. She checks her phone once. Twice. When she picks it up for the third time you sneak a glance on the screen.

“Am I your lockscreen?” You can see a picture of you sleeping on a couch. There’s a lot of pillows around you, and you’re making this stupid face you always do when you’re dreaming. Like you’re trying to focus on something.

Dakota freezes, looking straight ahead on the opposite wall. She’s not moving, you’re not even sure she’s breathing. From the frightened – and slightly embarrassed – look on her face, you can swear she’s about to have a heart attack.

“You weren’t supposed to see that.” Her voice is tense, as if she’s not sure how you will react. As if she’s rethinking her every decision for the last 24 years of her life.

You would tease her. Maybe throw some joke about it – but seeing her face and the vulnerability in her wide open eyes, you decide on doing it later. Maybe next time.

Instead, you smile, more to yourself, and wrap your hands around her, planting a soft kiss on her cheek, feeling her face getting red with every second.

“It’s cute,” you say, hiding your face in her neck, her hair tickling you.

She touches your arm, at first tentatively, and after making sure that you’re not running away, she moves her hand down to your knee, squeezing it. You’re pretty sure you can see with the corner of your eye a small smile on her lips, when she’s leaning her head on yours.

Suddenly you don’t mind waiting.

yes, I'm planning on adding achievements! but they will be added woth chapter 3 or 4 or even in the closed alpha when i have the whole story written.

i put hair options that i think were pretty universal but i will add some more 'male' hairstyles with the next update!

first of all, i am in LOVE with this story so far, im v excited for the next update!! thank you so much for sharung this gift with us, its made quarantine a lot easier ♡♡♡ if i may tho (feel free to say Nah if these reaction asks are tiring), can i ask for the ROs reaction to a MC bashfully tugging on the lapels of the ROs' jacket to come closer and softly admitting "You make me feel safe"???

i really wanted to write proper scenarios for this ask but lately my head’s been all over the place and i’m putting all my focus into finishing dakota’s and cristina’s routes and writing the rest of chapter 2 so:

Cristina - she probably would say something like “you make me feel safe, too”! She’d be really happy she can bring you some peace and would just cuddle up with you.

Dakota - they would be surprised at first because they’ve never thought that could be possible for anyone. Would probably tense for a second and smile at you, thinking they will do everything for it to never change.

Castillo - they’re really protective and want to feel needed so that’s just what they want to hear. Lots of forehead kisses. Weirdly not making anything dirty. Expect lots of smugness after.

one thing i really love about the game is how you can chose which love interest says something to the mc. it makes it feel like the li is really actually into the mc, instead of the mc being the only one to pursue things. really good update!!!

AAAH thank you!! ❤️  i want to make it feel that the player is not the only one who initiates romantic interactions because that always irked me in games. anyways, after locking your LI in, there will be no need to choose  👀

Castillo (both) - 186 cm so around 6'1-2?, November 20th, scorpio

Dakota, male 182 cm (6'0), female 179 cm (5'9), May 4th, taurus

yes, they’re supposed to be greyed out! for now, only castillo’s scene is available but in the next two weeks i will upload the rest of the chapter with cristina’s and dakota’s scenes!
