Telus Storyhive's 2017 Music Video $10,000 challenge is a rare opportunity for musicians and filmmakers to realize their projects.

The music video is for A.J. Jenkin’s song In The End.

“In The End” is about a journey from vulnerability to strength; from innocence to experience. The imagery that we want to bring to life in this video is taken directly from the lyrics of the song itself: the metaphor that life is a party and it’s your choice whether you end up being the guest of honour… or the main course.

In the animated segments of the video, our female heroine will be surrounded by a shadowy, shifting landscape that forces her to stay constantly on her toes!

The limbs of party-goers might suddenly become twisting tree limbs. A courting lover might transform into a monster. The landscape of life is constantly changing, and animation can easily whisk us from one location to another at the stroke of a pen. And at the end of the day, “In The End” is dark… but it’s also darkly funny, and animation will portray the spooky humour in the song’s dark lyrics.

The party’s just beginning… Will you raise your glass and smile, or give in to the things that lurk in the shadows?”
