I'll believe that when I see the proof.
I do not understand why people need to insist to me that "legendary Pokemon" are real.
'Zarude' is real, yes. But it is not a Pokemon, he is an EDM artist known primarily for his track Sandstorm.

Yeah, and he's a Pokémon! Do you think Pokémon can't make music or something?

Are you kidding? It's gotta be real! Haven't you heard the legends about it?
I wish I did not have to explain this, but.
The "Bloodmoon Beast" is not a Pokemon. It is not a real thing at all. It is a euphemism. It is most used in the Kitakami, Johto, and Kanto regions. It means periods, usually particularly heavy and painful ones.
Someone 'hunting the Bloodmoon Beast' is waiting for their period to start. Similarly, someone 'battling the Bloodmoon Beast' is dealing with one.
This must have gotten out of hand if someone is actually trying to find such a creature...

Anyway forget that cuz I've got some great news! I'm finally setting out on a real hunt, and it's gonna be a doozy!
Been planning this for months, actually. I'll tell you all more once I'm a lil closer to where I'm headed.

🚓 Please contact us with any information on the location of Melinda Jenny, age 16. Last known to be in Saffron City, Kanto, has no pokemon on hand. Her mother, one of my colleagues, is worried sick. Please help us get this defenseless young girl home.

It's the Pokémon you can just barely make out in my icon! A lot of people say it's not real, but there's way too many accounts for it to be a hoax. It's out there and I'm gonna find it.

The SOURCE of the rumor! If it was just made up by the Pokémon Fan Club, that'd mean it's not real, so there's no reason to look. So obviously that's not where it actually came from!
I'm gonna go through some old sites to see what I can find.
You really think Mew's extinct? A trainer found one under a truck as recently as 1996!
Ah, I actually know the origin of this myth. It was a rumor started for a good reason.
To all Trainers who keep a motorized vehicle: Especially in the winter, always be sure to check under the hood and carriage of the car for small Pokemon. You see, those are small, dark, enclosed spaces, that are often quite warm after your engine has been running. As a result, small animals and Pokemon will often try to hide inside such an appealing place to warm themselves in the winter. In Kanto, there was a rash of Meowth and Ratatta doing so, and such things...
... Well. It does not turn out well for a living creature under the hood of a car when you turn on the engine and move it at high speeds.
As a result of damage to both wild populations and cars, a group in Kanto- The Pokemon Fan Club of Vermillion City- started a rumor that a Mew had been found under a truck, in hopes that it would cause Trainers to check under vehicles more often, so Pokemon would not be injured by cars any further.

Oh come on, you really believe that? That sounds like a really easy explanation someone made up just to get people to stop looking.

We won't KNOW until we can get a better look at Missingno!
We should start an urban legend that the castle is haunted. That would be funny.

Duh it's a Pokémon that hasn't been properly "discovered" yet. What do you think a cryptid is?
And the duplication shows up in lots of accounts. You can't just say it never happened bc YOU think it's impossible.
We should start an urban legend that the castle is haunted. That would be funny.

It's NOT a hallucination and it's NOT a hoax. There's way too many accounts, and they're too consistent, and it's not like it's the only Pokémon with weird powers!
Besides, there's documented stuff about the duplication. Take a look at this!
[The link goes to a website called "missingnoreal.net" and brings up an image of a bag overflowing with Poké Balls.]
There's some cryptid Pokémon we've only got shaky evidence for, but Missingno's super well documented for a cryptid and basically every hunter I've talked to agrees it's gotta be real. We just need to get the concrete stuff like a clearer photo or a good recording and it'll come the way Mew did.
We should start an urban legend that the castle is haunted. That would be funny.

Missingno's a cryptid Pokémon! The pictures and accounts vary a bit, but people usually agree it floats, and when it's got a distinct form it either looks like a ghost or the skeleton of an extinct Pokémon. Personally, I'd say it's probably got multiple forms. You can see a pic of the ghost one in my icon.
It's mostly been sighted around Cinnabar Island, but you've got accounts of encounters all across Kanto. Got its name because the first time someone tried to scan it with a Pokédex, all they got was a missing number.
There's all sorts of weird paranormal stuff that happens around it too. Usually it's just something you're carrying gets turned into more than a hundred copies, but people who've gotten too close to one sometimes end up with jumbled memories of their own achievements, or they've also talked about forgetting how to perceive their own body, and instead seeing a bunch of other people walking around aimlessly, and none of those people say anything that makes any sense if you talk to them. Probably some kinda self defense from the Pokémon when people startle it.
Oh, and it's apparently got this really long cry that can make you freeze in your tracks! No one's been able to get a recording of it yet, but I'm hoping to be the first once I track on down.
We should start an urban legend that the castle is haunted. That would be funny.

Kay but that doesn't make any sense. Lots of urban legends are true! Like we've got photographic evidence of Missingno.
