Say hello to Mestiere di Ciocco!

She’s here, and she is ready to paint this gray landscape with color! Hailing from Italy, Mestiere di Ciocco is a newcomer to Gensokyo, and is thus different from your usual youkai. She is naïve, shy, and a bit of a crybaby, but even then, she is brimming with determination and passion for art, making her another perfect heroine for this incident! ...But will Mamizou be able to teach this young paintbrush tsukumogami the ways of Gensokyo? Ciocco is an important character to Team Milkyway, you could almost consider her as our mascot! Although we can’t say for sure if she would appear in future games, you’d still expect to see her a lot~ Also, here’s a few sketches our artist did of her!

Our artist has changed a lot of graphics for PoNC, this includes the portrait! check ‘em out at Playables ! (You’ll discover the portraits for the bosses once the demo comes out, to keep things more mysterious.) Crimson is still working on our last playable, Mestiere di Ciocco, expect to see how she looks soon~ Another note, you’ll be expecting a lot of overhauls to our blog as it goes along.

Major Announcement!

Sorry guys, we have decided to scrap some of the playable and boss characters featured in the game due to pressure. But don't fret just yet! This means that the game would be a tad bit more fleshed out, now that we have more room to focus on other matters.

Characters who would go on the chopping block: Playable: Aya (Yuuka), Youmu (Yuyuko), Sanae (Kanako), Reisen (Eirin) Boss: Atsuko, Fubuki, Marie, Belle

Final characters for the demo: Playable: Reimu (Yukari), Marisa (Alice), Sakuya (Remilia), Ciocco (Mamizou) Boss: Osore, Honohi, Glissando

And now’s time for the good news. Suzaku would be promoted...somewhere else. Meanwhile, a new original character has arrived: Mestiere di Ciocco! She was intended to be the unlockable player for the game, but we decided that it’s better to introduce her right away instead, since she could balance the player roster and everyone would be (hopefully) content.

Lastly, the route system is still there, but wouldn’t appear in the demo. Instead, the routes would split up from Stage 4 onwards.

Our main programmer, Mod Pepper has successfully finished doing all demo spellcards, we are currently awaiting our game testers to pass their judgement onto ‘em~

Heroines

Red Shrine Maiden Floating in the Skies, Reimu Hakurei (Partner: Yukari Yakumo)  The Hakurei Shrine. A shrine where tea was served to humans and youkai willing to keep the peace in the land of fantasy.

However, the sudden dullness was an intruder to its peace. Meanwhile, Reimu Hakurei was slightly perplexed by the presence of a certain, unaffected gap youkai.

“This is an incident of a peculiar type, Reimu. It seems fit for someone with the knowledge of barriers to guide you today.“ Yukari Yakumo, on the other hand, was willing to solve the incident, although she felt that she should not put herself in danger. It was then settled that Reimu would defeat the perpetrator herself...with some Outside World technology, as she would find out on the way.

Yellow Magician with Extraordinary Firepower, Marisa Kirisame (Partner: Alice Margatroid)

The Forest of Magic. A forest filled with dangerous flora, mischievous youkai, and overflowing magic energy.

Since the mysterious gray ray struck, magic has been quickly dissolving, leaving its resident magicians incapable of anything, and the playful fairies too demotivated to even move a muscle. 

"My seven colors have been gone for too long. Let's put a stop to this dullness." Alice greatly worried for herself, and so did Marisa, whose magic also relies on color and light to function well. She decided to team up with Alice once again and flew into the Human Village, while Alice worried if the desaturated path would make navigating through it worse or not.

Scarlet Devil Maid in Refined Blue, Sakuya Izayoi (Partner: Remilia Scarlet)

The Scarlet Devil Mansion. A manor where the vampire of fate resides.

It lost the scarlet glow it possessed during Gensokyo’s phantasmal nights. The low maids felt too lethargic to do anything useful, if they were considered so in the first place, that is.

“Who knew this incident would be the most boring of incidents?“ Remilia Scarlet was on the worst of her whims, and was craving for something more exciting to happen. Her chief maid, Sakuya Izayoi, knew that there had to be a way out there to bring Gensokyo’s vigor back. And so, with permission from the fickle devil herself, she dashed off to the gray landscape.

The Human Village. A pastoral village where rumors spread like wildfire. 

The humans were a little more reckless than usual, leading themselves into the hands of power-hungry youkai. One could assume that their wits have been dulled by a certain flash of gray.

"These rascals won't be getting what they want, hoho!" Mamizou may have been mischievous, but she fought for control of the Human Village for heroic reasons. She found Mestiere di Ciocco, a paintbrush created around the time of the tsukumogami incident, and sought her assistance to solve the incident. The newborn tsukumogami let passion take over her fear, and gladly agreed to bring back the colors of the land.

Plot

This game is just a fangame. This story may be a dream or an illusion. A story unfolds...

It is past the rain season and the summer is warm in Gensokyo. A sudden strong shock wave strikes, and Gensokyo's colors start draining... As the colors drained, hope was lost. Humans and youkai started having dull minds. Their minds became so gray that they became desperate to find even a single drop of hope.

These drops of hope were the survivors. However, they too didn't know what to do; thus, they formed duos and began explore all over Gensokyo for answers.

The Human Village, where the once joyful humans have become dull and pessimistic, is where the heroines will begin their journey...
