Colin, at that point, was still trying to merge the two different personalities of Pen together. Right before he questions what good is he to Penelope, he brings up what LW wrote about him at the beginning of the season. That he was a lost rake with a personality. This season was about mirrors in more ways than one. Just as Colin holds up a mirror to show Pen how not only he fully views her as a well-rounded person, she also holds up a mirror to him as well. During his travels he didn't hear from her so he got lost trying to craft an image that was acceptable to society. I feel as tho her forceful I love you in that moment was twofold. One was to begin his journey of merging LW and Pen into one person as her previous love confession was just that of Penelope the wallflower. The second reason was to ground Colin back into himself, the man who was truly himself in her presence. I think this scene was needed because it started Colin on his Journey to accepting both sides of Penelope's personality even though it more time for him to fully get there.

okay, so y'all know I have some issues with this season (esp. part 2), but one of the things I'm just having trouble wrapping my brain around is this scene:

I guess for me, I have a hard time understanding why Pen saying "I love you" this time was such a big deal to Colin (I mean, he takes a step back as if it is the first time he's hearing this from her.)

She already told him she has always loved him in the church - why would her saying this now be such a surprise to him??

I guess, I can understand that her telling him in the church is pre-Colin finding out about her being LW...so perhaps since his discovery he's questioning everything she told him before??? But if that's the case then why would he believe her now?

I'm just having a hard time understanding why this dialogue was needed here - just for a big romantic kiss scene? I could have almost done away with this for a slightly longer conversation about how her being Whistledown doesn't change how she feels about him but how she's now worried her being Whistledown does change his feelings for her irretrievably. We sort of get this when Colin talks to Kanthony, but it still would have been an interesting question hanging in the air for Colin and Pen after a talk between the two of them-especially the night before their wedding. I feel like that would have been a better use of time than a (in my opinion) redundant "I love you" from Penelope and a make out scene that doesn't really do much to forward the plot or their character arcs.

Don't get me wrong, I love a Polin kiss as much as the next guy (and the scene is hot!), but idk...this felt more fanservice-y (almost like they knew they weren't giving us much Polin togetherness in the final few minutes of episode 8 so they threw us a bone here...)

But I'm looking for someone to point out what I'm missing and help me make more sense of this scene! More than happy to hear thoughts, feelings, headcanons, etc! Thanks in advance!

The fact that so much of the last episode was Benedict terrible 3some pissed me off. I'm excited him being Bisexual and exploring a new side of himself. However I truly did not care for 85 million scene of him with the widow taking away from Polin and Peneloise.

Serious moment then here comes Benedict with his dick out.

Must save the Bridgerton's from ruin....Here comes Benedict slinging penis.

Protect Lady Whistledown's fortune and the Featherington's reputation. Yet again Benedict feasting upon body parts.

2 entire scene just from the last episode alone could have been cut out.

I can't fathom the fact that some people watch a movie, show or read a book they like and they just go: "I liked it :)" and that's it....girl how?? Whenever I like a movie, tv show, book or musical I need to inhale that piece of media like it's air, I need to self insert myself in it and create an elaborate plot line for my character in it, then I listen to music that reminds me of the piece of media and think of it 24/7, while obsessively rewatching scenes and analyzing every bit of it till I notice details nobody has seen, finally, I try to convince people to watch it with me so that I can experience it for the first time through them. Then my obsession dies and I feel empty until the next one comes along..... and you're telling me people can enjoy something and just...go to sleep and not think of it again????

I will die and be buried and hundreds of years later you will find my sleeping barrow and look upon my tomb made of all that canon finnrey was and could have been. idc what other people say i’m digging my grave as we speak

i also love these moments when the pin drops for Violet each and every season and she’s like “Ah. THATS the person my oblivious child is in love with”
