Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You A Wizard?!

(yes i adjusted the colors according to the title, no i dont regret anything)

soo umm a litle context about the anime as i dont think many people know about it, it was a manga originally and then it got a live action movie(2023) and in 2024 it got an anime!

its about this guy called adachi(black haired guy in the pic) who gets the ability to read peoples minds beacuse he turned 30 as a virgin.with this power he learns that the perceft and handsome kurosawa(the taller guy) is really into him and thats where the story stars basically.

now that you got a little more context, lets get right into it!

literally not a str8 couple on sight.the only time we see anything straight is when adachi is talking about his past crushes and when he thinks fujisaki might be into him.(shes not.in fact shes a huge fujoshi that ships him and kurosawa more often than she breathes)So yeah there is zero mutual hetero attraction shown in the entire show.i dont think it getsa ny gayer than this lmfao

cringe level 2/5

its a quirky romance anime lmfao just look at the title.also adachi's awkwardness takes a little getting used to but thats about it.A couple moment here and there but suprisingly not that cringe.

how realistic is it? 7/10

a pleasant surprise, truly. You would expect a series with quirky superpowers to be incredibly unrealistic but uhh nope! Not only that, kurosawa and adachi's relationship is decently healthy too.they have communication issues, sure but they work it out.And once adachi gains confidence most of those dissappear. Btw there is a little scene where theyre in the sauna and kurosawa thinks about how cute it is that adachi has a little belly and i just thought it was sweet that they didnt make the -never goes out socially inadept 30 year old- into a total skinny twink (i mean he looks like a skinny twink abut apparently not so maybe they forgot to draw him that way idk)

i also found that most characters act in character, which i know is a very low bar for realism but eehh u gotta do what u gotta do.What i mean by that is that even though theyre part of a trope, they still feel like characters and act like their own people.Kurosawa, the mr percect of this anime, gets jelous often, but they talk it out with Adachi and he seems embarrased that he would do something so low adn would let adachi see it.super in characher for him and i love that (there are lots of examples of these, if i were to talk about them it would go on forever.)

would I rewatch it -> probably not

now, now, dont get me wrong, its not that i didnt like it, its just that this is more of a one and done sort of thing.Its a cute 12 episode anime, it doesnt have anything too remarkable about it, maybe ill rewatch it someday, especially if i need something cute to cheer me up, but other than that I doubt ill seek it out.

i liked it, its cute and does have some memorable moments but i dont feel very strongly about it. Like if somebody asked me to talk about thing i recently watched i would thalk about cherry magic but i probably wouldnt if they asked me to talk about anime or romance tv shows yknow?

production quality 2/5

its not like, disasterously bad but the artstyle could be inconsistent sometimes. (something uncanny valley is going on with kursawa in some shots but uhh idk)but its not like you look for production quality when watching bls so yeah there is that

characters 4/5

most of the side charaters only have one or two personality traits and the main characters dont have detailed backstories or anything, but honestly, they dont have to.aand thats pretty much my only nitpick.(I do wish that the side couples relationship was a little more fleshed out tho, all we got was "i thought this guy was weird at first but not really" and "oh idk would he like an older guy, he probably thinks im weird" and like nothing else)

is homophobia canon? -> nope

although, same sex relationships are still seen as unusual.We dont see mentions of outright homophobia.Adachi is worried about both of them being guys but i just read that as him being worried about the power dynamic and again hes worried about his boss finding out which just seems like office culture, hes also worried about what other people think of their relationship but more as "this guy is so hansome and perfect and im just a loser, we dont look like we make a good pair" sort of thing, not oh no im gay and nobody should learn that sort of shit

plus, they get married at the end and invite their work friends and stuff so cool stuff

cutenes level 4,5/5

absolutely a-dor-a-ble!! i would totally give them the thightest hug if they werent 30 year old men lol. also took half a point away cuz of the author guys age comments and it never being adressed made me uncomfy but yeah thats it.

would I reccomend? 4/5

its kind of spesific with the superpowers and stuff, would probably reccomend it to close friends but wouldnt to anime beginners or just anyone i know, other than that tho its absolutely worth a watch.

so uhh yknow how its pride month right?

every year I take it upon myself to engage in queer media, as where i live isnt the most accepting about this kind of stuff and im still closeted (and probably wont come out,ever) i cant do anything else other than sit home all day.

usually i end up watching seasons of rupauls drag race with another series on the side, the first year I watched the first season of heartstopper the second year it was young royals, i dont remember the third years series honestly, i think i just wathched drag race.

this year however, I already watched my popular cutesy western queer media of choice Red, White and Royal Blue, so I was completely lost on what to watch.I watched Love, Simon first then I was planning to watch Love, Victor cus yknow its a spinoff, and then it hit me!

I just finishd the anime I've been watching for the past month!Which means its time to start a new one!

so I decided to spend this pride month watching bl's left and right and obviously i wont be able to shut the fuck up about them, so im gonna put my thoughts in my blog! clever right? currently I've finished cherry magic and i've developed a ranking system so I have a basis to go of off cuz im like a feral dog when i really wanna talk about something and even thpugh tahts already the case I dont exactly want this blog to be a complete mess.
