The mild guilt and unease simmers in their gut as they simply w a t c h the silver haired boy from afar. Angel knows that they really shouldn't get caught s p e a k i n g with any of the zodiac members, especially not Y u k i -- the poor thing has suffered enough and has his freedom (to a degree) and they would rather not get the lad in trouble. Even if it was the r o y a l doing the approaching, the head covered in rose-colored locks is sure the Sohma's likely would manage a way to harm the child hosting the r a t .

So for now, Angel stays at a distance, following behind while keeping an e y e on the boy. The royal liked to keep tabs on those chosen by the zodiac, even if they were 'strongly recommended' to cease all contact. Let's just h o p e they're able to stay under the radar from others-- because it certainly seems like Angel has been spotted by the s i l v e r . Shit-- running away doesn't seem like a smart idea, as that would possibly unsettle Yuki.. a stranger, in essence, stalking you-- which that is not what they were doing! Biting the bullet, the royal takes a quick glance around the street in hopes of i d e n t i f y i n g familiar faces.. or rather, not being able to find one, before hesitantly approaching the male. Might as well come clean as to not leave any m i s u n d e r s t a n d i n g s in place.

Instead of jumping too far too fast, the vampire s e t t l e s on seeing just how much is remembered by the other. If they don't have to overexplain themself, or state something the lad is already aware of, they'd like to a v o i d that.

Angel's Fruits Basket Verse

Angel hugging any of those hosting the zodiac will cause them to change into their animal forms.

Their Vampire clan, the family of Melchior, are "friends" with the Sohmas. More- the two families sort of keep each other "in check", though still have friendly and positive relations overall. Hard to make friends when you are considered "magical" or "otherworldly"- so why not fellow mythical beings?

Most, if not all, members of the Melchior clan are kept away from any person possessed by a zodiac animal. While mostly out of respect as the clan sees those hosting the animals as their (the Melchior's) equivalent of royalty, it is also in a rule in place to keep all of them safe. It would not be a good idea to find out what would happen if a zodiac turns into an immortal, or one of their vampires gain unstable new abilities, should any get bitten or used as vampire feed.

Not gonna fuck around or find out.

Not many in their clan are even introduced/allowed to see those considered possessed. The only ones allowed to are the higher ups of the clan- their royal family and any personal guards, or any involved with communications between the two families.

Angel only sees each of them once a year- often at the New Year's banquet. They really enjoy each member's dance as they "pass the baton" to the next years representative.

All except the cat.

Only the smallest handful know of the "true nature" of the cat. Angel had to happen upon it by accident- unfortunately following a scent of blood when their thirst got the best of them, ending up leading them to the "cat's house".

Angel is both baffled and disgusted at the discovery. Not the that cat has a "true form"- no. Hell half the vampires got strange physiques. What bothers them is that the poor soul, hosting the cat, is treated so poorly by "God" and his servants. Even seen that the fellow members of the zodiac also treat the cat poorly. Angel is very family oriented and protective. Seeing the Sohmas treat one of those carrying the cat's legacy on so horrendously, so degrading- is sick.

Angel goes to ask their parents about the cats situation, only for them to tell Angel to not get too engrossed in another families secrets. Though they can tell their parents don't like it either, know it's not wise to put the two families on bad terms, no matter how badly they would like to.

Angel ends up visiting the cat during the night, only once a month, or when possible. It's still not smart to actively put yourself near one of the chosen zodiac members as a vampire, and a royal no less, so they limit it to what is safe for both them and the cat.

They end up bringing random gifts they think whomever is the current cat is would like. Books, snacks, pottery-- anything. Especially if the cat asks for an item in particular. One even asked Angel to simply pass along letters for them to those they were close with. That one was the saddest to witness. Angel ends up aiding three cats in this manner-- up until the present, as there is no cat currently in that awful box of a living space. They hope that it is because the treatment of the cat became better, but they know that is not likely.

In Angel's search to satiate the curiosity of the state of the current cat, they end up meeting the rat. The rat child looks so.. sad? Lonely. They feel pity for the poor child, seeming to also be treated not fantastically by "God", much like all the cats had been. They realize quickly that the boy is similarly kept locked up in a room- even if this room is better kept and more luxurious than the cat's. Angel then makes it apart of their routine to also visit the rat child, but only sees them once a year-- outside of the banquets. Angel also extends the same treatment- bringing gifts if safe to.

Mild worry takes over them when they go to find the rat, only to find him too missing. No one will tell them what had happened to the boy, only saying that he was fine and located elsewhere for the time being. That sounded quite ominous but left it at that- knowing that they were already pushing it by even inquiring about the one hosting the rat.

Angel only finds out about the fate of him after a few years when Angel finally sees him at a banquet that he seemed forced to attend. At least he is alive and seemingly better off where ever he stayed, and Angel accepts this knowledge and does not pursue it, not try to make an appearance to him outside of the granted family arrangements.

Angel later hears that the cat had been up in the mountains, supervised by the previous cat's child. It is an odd thing, Angel thinks, but is still pleased that the cat is somewhat free and can enjoy the world.

Angel does their best to remove their involvement with the current zodiac members, worried they might cause those members problems by getting them in trouble with "God" or with the Melchior's. So while knowing all of them by name and face, Angel does not know any of them on a personal level.

But they would like to. They would like a friend who isn't a vampire trying to sneak their way into the royal families good graces by befriending Angel. Would like a friend that doesn't get scared away by being "not human". Though they want to make friends, they know that any Sohma would still have the problem of having a normal human living cycle- so it is still difficult to push through that barrier.

Ryuu loves the rain. Especially loves when it settles near night and leaves a soft mist that can be seen through the light of street lamps. Makes the world look magical and otherworldly.

Angel hates the cold (cold blooded vampire makes sense ya know). You will never see them without a minimum of two layers of shirts on and a jacket.

Angel is extremely hesitant to get emotionally attached to people, but varies in reasons depending on the person/species.

If it's fellow vampires/long-life they believe that the individual is only interested in being their companion because of their royalty status and what it can provide the person and the person's family.

If it's a mortal/short-life they don't want to get close only to have the person leave them behind with their death, nor thinking that a mortal would understand "vampire struggles".

They are friendly and social, but never put feelings involved in whatever they do.
