The appeal of Audrey and Cooper’s relationship in the first two seasons, for me at least, was the way they fairly openly admit having feelings for each other, but also acknowledge that they shouldn’t act on them and fall into an incredibly comfortable dynamic where there’s this feeling that something might happen way down the line, but its not an awkward thing hanging over them. Like they really are able to be amazing friends even with the tension between them. 

There’s just something nice about how whether or not they’re going to get together is not a deciding factor in how much they care about each other. 

That’s why its such a shame that they don’t get scenes together after mid-season 2. Even if for reasons I don’t need to get into here the writers didn’t want to pursue the romantic tension between them as a core part of the show anymore, they still have a great dynamic without that element.
