--♛ Protest as she would like, it was easy to see how haggard Haru was. Makoto stood there for a moment, torn between respecting Haru’s wishes and the worry that was still knotting in her chest. And, after a moment, Makoto chose to walk the line between the two. 

Rising on her toes, Makoto fished out a box of tea bags from the pantry. The tea kettle was still on the counter, so it was easy to fill it up and set it to heat while pulling out mugs. One was a plain black with a faded emblem of the Tokyo Police Department, careworn and chipped on the handle. The other was a bright, cheerful Duffy mug from a visit to Tokyo SEA last year.

“No Mako-chan… I can handle this.” She still had paperwork to get done, even if she left the responsibility of the company to someone else. She wasn’t just, abstained of all work. She felt a little dizzy, which was physically apparent given that she wasn’t exactly stable at the moment.

Deep Ass Starters.

Sometimes it's hard to get in depth with your muse and their backstory, because you can't figure out how to bring those things up with others. Here are a couple of starters intended to make things a little more personal!

"What's holding you back?"

          Arsene stepped a further into her room, no longer seeing this was going to harbor ills. After all, this was naught but a cognition, a slip between the crack between the knowing: for once one is aware, then the door is open for anything to slip right in. Seeing as the Queen seeks to inquire, why not indulge her curiosity with a taste?

        Apparently, Johanna isn’t going to indulge her too much on her other self.

        “Slumber is what you make of it, Queen,” the purr came with the clicks of his tongue, ”My self that lies on this side sleeps, yet not once are we separate. Do you separate Makoto and Johanna, the self that has slept deep within your soul? Hah… Hahaha… Does she intend to let me speak truths, when the answer also lies within your soul as well?”

        Of course Arsene found this amusement to climb steadily, to keep quiet? There was nothing in it to stay silent, save for her own… It would be too much trouble were any to catch wind of Arsene’s escapades. Especially those who also lie on the other side.

        “If I shall be the one to hold my tongue to my other self, I desire something of equal compensation. My silence is never cheap, especially to those nearest to my other self,” the Persona pulled on the gloves idly, awaiting her words with anticipation. 

--♛ Johanna is content to observe this exchange between her partner and Arsene. It was educational, and the pursuit of knowledge had ever been a passion of both Persona and User. The only response from the Priestess was a simple, resonant thought through Makoto’s heart: Listen with both heart and ear. 

Their heights being more equal made it easier for Makoto to breathe, relax, and find her bearings. Personas always liked to speak in abstracts, it seemed. 

“Truth can be subjective, though. The truth of your soul may not be the same as mine. However,” there was a crack of a grin. If this were anyone but Akira’s other self, she might’ve been offended at the attempt to broker a deal. “I think anyone would agree that attempting to blackmail a friend and ally disqualifies you from being a gentleman thief.”
