WHIST - AΦE / James Shaw

I was invited to the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury to photograph a new production of WHIST by AΦE. 

The installation combines 360° Augmented Reality, alongside designed objects. The resulting interactions between participant & object creates a non-linear narrative, the course of which is determined by the user.

Make Me Cute

I teamed up with RCA graduate Hyerim Shin to photograph her project, ‘Cuteness Tool for Dachshunds’. A provocative piece questioning whether the trend for designer pets is ethical.

Empathy Bridge

This project from recent RCA graduate Kim Heeju seeks to build empathy from the general public towards people with Autism. By creating a series of devices that let the wearer experience the sensorial difficulties the autistic face, Kim hopes to create mutual understanding and empathy towards a marginalised social group.

Tesla Stools

Created by designer Will Yates-Johnson for Science Museum London, these Tesla stools were inspired by the copper coil and timber structures that Nikola Tesla used in his experiments on electricity at the turn of the century.

A recent shoot for designer Will Yates-Johnson who created this piece for the new Wonderlab Gallery. Made up of over 100 individual mirrored pieces, it’s parabolic shape yields some amazing reflections.

Peter Fowler - TheyMadeThisLondon

Earlier in the year I had the pleasure of meeting the creative whirlwind that is Peter Fowler. His london studio is crammed with a plethora of past and ongoing illustration projects, as well as his recent forays into wood-carving & cross stitch.

‘Fowler roams the worlds of music, illustration, toy design, printmaking, painting, art direction and commercial projects through his art. His more recognisable images have been for the rock band Super Furry Animals' albums, videos, and merchandise’.

The Atkins Family

This shot has also been selected for the Portrait Salon 2016 Exhibition. Taken from my ongoing project ‘Real Racers’ where I have been meeting & photographing families that have a passion for Mini Stox Racing. Competing on oval tracks at speeds of up to 50mph, the racing is full contact and all of the drivers are under 16!
