Another commenter mentioned that during the promo for 8x09 Maddie’s abductor may be a woman because she has long black hair. I agree.
I didn’t notice it at first but after rewatching the trailer not only does the perp have long black hair they appear to be rather short based on the camera’s and angle height depicting the kidnapper’s POV as they approach Maddie from behind IMO
The perp also seems to be unable to fully hold Maddie down during the struggle which may indicate they are weaker or not as strong as her too.
plus the expression portrayed by Maddie’s eyes as she takes in her assailant seem to show that she was taken completely by surprised or her attacker did not fit the profile, was not at all what she or Athena had been expecting or had been told to look for (like her eyes are trying to “You?! But how? You’re not X,Y, Z…”
JMT could be wrong of course

I think Chris misses Eddie, and possibly LA, a lot more than his father realizes considering that his favorite show is Hotshots and he uses the LAFD emblem as the background on his desktop.
Does Chris even want to stay or move back to El Paso?
Yes, he made friends and developed new hobbies there but he also developed hobbies, like surfing, drawing, playing video games and regularly visiting the zoo, in LA too. He made tons of friends, including Harry and Denis, had a few crushes and even dated a few of them and LA is the last city he and mom spent time together, celebrated their last Christmas together and where she is buried. It is also the place where he discovered his own bravery and faith and hope in himself and Buck as they survived a tsunami together At Durand was enrolled in a school he loves and was more tailored with his needs and goals in mind, got to expand the type of activities he tried out or did on his own for the first time, like skateboarding and he and his father also developed a great support network through the 118, Buck, Carla, Abuela and Peppa. It’s not like he said goodbye to any of these things before he left and if Eddie moves he won’t get the chance. They made a home there and meaning they could be losing or sacrificing a lot of relationships and stuff if they returned to El Paso to be closer to Ramon and Helena.
I have a feeling that Eddie will try to surprise Christopher with the news in the next episode or two and his son will be totally against it or just say no. Perhaps too we will see Chris to find a way to divulge to Eddie in private, or at least in a way that his grandparents won’t overhear, how his life really is there and it is not all sunshine and rainbows and perfection despite his initial impressions and how Ramon and Helena portrayed themselves as better caretakers for Christopher? Perhaps Eddie will find that Christopher is struggling with the same things or worse that Eddie did when was young and was being raised by them? Perhaps this prompt Eddie to go to Texas not to relocate for good but to pick up his son and confront his parents on the things they have done that have hurt him, Shannon or Chris. For example, humiliating the new parents in front of other family members when Helena thought they didn’t know how to properly feed their son, or telling Eddie that in her judgement he was already in a low place in life and was at risk of bringing down his son as well and the snide remarks about Shannon the older couple made at the repass of her own funeral.
I also don’t think he is as happy or blissful as Eddie thinks he is. When he mentioned the chess club he rolled his eyes and couldn’t look at the camera when he spoke about practicing for the tournament with his grandfather? Sure, perhaps Christopher genuinely likes chess or spending time with Ramon but the sad or despondent way he spoke about it makes me wonder who actually decided that he should join the chess club, when and how often he practices or if he even wants to participate to the tournament?
Was it his or grandparents?
And why did he have to hang up so fast just because his grandfather was ready to start? Would Ramon have a problem with Chris asking for five more more minutes to speak to his father or is schedule really strict or more strict than it was at home?
