Region: The Stormlands (originally) Eastern Reach, vassals of the Baratheons (formerly) and the Tyrells (presently).

History: House Durwell was originally a minor house of the Stormlands, sworn to House Baratheon. Their holdings were located in the coastal hills near the Kingswood, where they cultivated vineyards and maintained small shipyards. For generations, they were little more than discreet vassals, rarely mentioned in the tales, but useful as tax collectors and small providers of trade routes. With the arrival of the First Blackfyre Rebellion, the Durwells' position became unstable. Fearing they would be caught between factions and lose their lands, the family made a risky decision: to abandon their holdings in the Stormlands and settle in the Reach, further east, taking advantage of trade connections with merchants from Oldtown.

The move was not unwelcome to the Baratheons, as the Durwells pledged loyalty through minor marriages (which were never claimed) and financial support. Thus, the house survived the turbulent century of rebellions. Generations later, Ser Cedrik Durwell distinguished himself during Robert's Rebellion, fighting under the banner of the Crowned Stag. His performance earned him a position at court in King's Landing, serving as a trusted sworn knight at the Red Keep. The Durwells, although settled in the Reach, publicly reaffirmed their ties to House Baratheon, maintaining close contact with Storm's End. After the death of King Robert Baratheon, House Durwell's loyalty wavered. At first, they supported the Baratheon princes, but the setbacks of war and the drain on resources left them weakened.

During the years of the Clash of Kings, Patriarch Lord Harys realized that tying himself to the Baratheons meant ruin. So, gradually and pragmatically, the house redirected its loyalty to the Tyrells, who offered stability, wealth, and protection in the Reach.

Territories: Their lands are fertile, with peach orchards and flowers growing in mineral-rich soil. Their main stronghold is called Honeyflower.
