Dante's Family

Corrupt

An idea I had:

What if, when the strings were first separated, their disharmony created corrupt creatures born of all that is worst in trolls? The first and best-known example would be the Bergens, whose devouring of the trolls was an unconscious (instinctive) way of recovering the magic they believed to be theirs but had been broken. As if a piece of their own soul had been ripped out.

They only found the pop trolls because they were directly connected to them. They felt their string calling them, guiding them, and built their civilization around it. The Bergens did not heal over the centuries, with the effects of the trolls' magic lasting no more than a few months. Perhaps they could have been healed by the harmony of a single tribe, but even that tribe was not united. The Muses knew that those trolls did not fall from grace by some kind of miracle (or by their unhealthy, yet efficient, way of dealing with mass massacres).

The disunity of those trolls was caused by two sides: one fighting to escape the Bergens and free the tribe, and the other, who still remembered the first notes, believed this was their punishment. Joining the strings would have killed them if they hadn't healed themselves, but their union, their harmony, would have healed them centuries ago.

I still need to develop this, but each corrupted one would have been born from a string and the sin of that tribe. The Bergens were born from the pop string and the greed of the pop-trolls. But I still need to think more about how this would work for the other tribes.

Maybe I'll take this idea (or concept) further, but I'm not sure yet. Who knows?

Dante Headcanons

Dantes is 34 years old. He has been friends with Minuet since childhood. As a child, Dante was "the shy weird kid," but Minuet didn't mind, and she became his first friend.

Dante received his ventriloquist dummy, Caruthers, when he was young, and he gained an interest in entertainment. However, his father discouraged him from this interest and influenced him to become a composer. Still, he continued to be very attached to Caruthers and often used it to express himself in ways he felt like he couldn't otherwise. However, as he grew, Dante finally felt like he could express his true self, and didn't need Caruthers to feel confident anymore.

Dante's father was quite strict and was the type of parent to live vicariously through his children, and he put a ton of pressure on Dante. Dante was constantly trying to be the best he could be at everything, and it led to him becoming a bit self-centered and constantly seeking approval.

As mentioned in the show, he is the official delegate for the classical trolls, but before that, he was Trollzart's head assistant and advisor. Dante sees Trollzart as more of a father figure than his own dad. He comes from a line of wealth, as his dad was a financial advisor for Trollzart. His parents divorced when he was around 23 or so and it kind of messed with him a lot. He still has an ok relationship with his mom, but won't speak to his father at all. Ironically, because Trollzart visited Dante's family often due to his father's position, it influenced his decision to nominate Dante to the position of advisor. Trollzart saw what was needed in Dante's life and he tries his best to be there for him, and sees Dante like a grandchild.

As a side note, I hc Dante as autistic. I know most ppl seem him as ocd but 🤷🏾

Classical Troll Headcanons - Biology

Babies and Children:

Classical Trolls typically only produce one egg at a time. Twins are very rare, and triplets are a nearly once-in-a-generation occurrence.

Their eggs resemble Faberge eggs. The jewels on the eggs match the baby's hair and/or wishstone color. (See illustration of Minuet's egg below.)

Young Classical Trolls gain more hair as they age. Notably, the toddler stage can be a bit awkward, as their hair has a tendency to grow in a patchy, unappealing way. Usually by age five, their hair will no longer be patchy and have a full, healthy appearance.

They are born with semi-sharp nails that help babies cling to their parents. This prevents them from blowing away/falling out of their parents' hair when their parents are flying or during strong winds. Nails are often filed down as they age.

Babies are more reliant on their parents compared to the babies of other tribes. They are equally intelligent, but lack the same effective speech and fine motor skills. Flight is the skill they gain the fastest.

General Biology:

Classical Trolls have surprisingly thick skin and tend to be warm to the touch. (Their healthy average body temp is 3 degrees hotter than the average Pop Troll.) Their skin helps conserve warmth and resists injuries/pain from babies' sharp nails.

They lack any natural sexual dimorphism.

They can lift up to 2 to 3 times their own body weight if healthy. Diet:

Classical Trolls are omnivores. Surprisingly, they are not picky eaters. (They care more about the presentation and quality of the preparation of the food.) They will eat just about anything native to Symphonyville and its surrounding area. (As for plants/fungi: Shrubs, grasses, flowers, grains, mushrooms, berries, lichens, and even some types of woodbark. As for animal matter: Eighth goats, fish, and just about anything small or docile enough to catch. They can eat insects, but often choose not to.) Much of the plant matter is typically turned into bread, pasta, pastries, salads, soups, and teas. Floral and tree bark teas are very popular. There is a highly caffeinated plant in the area that is made into a traditional, but very intense tea.

They have a very high metabolism. Classical Trolls need to eat more often than other trolls. Many choose to eat 5 standard meals per day. (Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, and Dinner.) Others may choose to eat smaller, more frequent meals. Genetics:

A Classical Troll's hair and wishstone tend to be the same color. (Pink hair = pink wishstone) However, a recessive gene can cause them to be mismatched.

Most wings are goldish-bronze, but they can be other colors colored based on genetics. Colored wings often match an individual's hair or wishstone color. Wing shapes can also vary.

Author's Note: These headcanons were taken from both the movie and Trollstopia as a source of inspo. I was also heavily inspired by hummingbirds and other mountain-dwelling animals.

Future AU: Forte's Family

A slightly older Forte with his wife Beatrice and their son Toto. (His real name is Tycho, but everyone calls him Toto.) Kind of a future AU, but not really since nothing much is different. Literally just about the Crescendo brothers and their spouses lol. In general, I'm going to be posting a lot more headcanon-based lore for the Crescendo brothers and Classical Trolls as a whole soon.
