in Evan's chapter of the depravity of what you did, he mentions "adoption would be the only way" when talking about their asexuality, do you think he *would* end up adopting? Im mainly curious what you think they, and the rest of the teens (maybe even charlie and mike in universes where they live happily) lives would be like as they get older :)

Will's def hellbent on revenge for what happened. Henry is horrified at the idea of his future self standing by and letting that happen to him. Bella and Clara are decorating him with air fresheners, new clothes and wigs, while talking about ways to kill his dad. Lots of team building for this one

I was wondering about your opinion as to how William’s character would change if he had been born as a woman - or rather, his/her upbringing.

The integral parts of William’s canon character (at least in HEOD and TDOWYD) remains the same -

But (s)he would also - on top of his/her religious trauma and abuse at the hands of her parents and, for the majority of her life, her undiagnosed mental disorder - also be dealing with societal misogyny, how that would bar future goals, and the expectations of what a ‘proper’ woman should be.

(+ sapphic Henry and William. I’m sorry. The thought has been circulating recently. Two very terrifyingly smart women on their way to Hurricane, Utah to revolutionize the /entertainment/mechanical electronic world).

I just find it interesting to think about how Will as a woman, in turn, would also alter Afton family dynamics. Would they still be called the Afton family? It’s not like she would have attachment to her name (then again, her name is also something that is hers in a world where so belongs to any woman).

Then there’s dynamics with Clara (who I guess would have to be a man here…?), and the societal roles that man v woman are supposed to take, and their kids - and then there’s the risk of either postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis for Will.

Then - the Afton Children.

There’s also the manifestation of abuse, the societal viewpoint on woman also affecting her capability to abuse - plus, going down original pre-HEOD timeline - the Missing Children’s incident.

Sorry for rambling, it’s just an itch that I needed to scratch - and usually when I find genderbent stuff, it’s either very old/poorly done, for kinky purposes, or (especially in old fics) meant to make lgbtq couples more cis. Which is fine and dandy most of the time - but not when it’s pointedly done because they were originally lgbtq in the first place. Personally haven’t found fics quite that bad, but I have heard about them.

omg hi, so I think one of the main things that would happen that you mentioned is the detachment from the name "Afton". I think Will would grow up very excited to know one day (s)he would be separated from it

I think the abuse suffered at the hand of Beatrice would be different - I think there would be different expectations, like learning how to dance, learning to find a good man. Then there would be other stuff such as being a woman in a male dominated field, and I think postpartum effects would definitely occur. Lots of diff stuff that would go on but still some parallels.

I agree, a lot of the time I find genderbent stuff done to take away queer content, but I think being queer is a very inherent part of William's character (and tbh fnaf as a whole (I get whiplash when I remember that there are right wing ppl that denounce the very clear queer characterization of William Afton in this fandom)), and would exist in any universe, even (or especially) a genderbent one!

Ever since I read HeoD (which was like a year ago), whenever I heard "I did it my way" all I can think about is that fic. And TBH I'm still deciding if I should thank you (for writing such an amazing story), or hate you for it.
