OP Academy's first half of its 50th chapter is up!

Title is Akagami no Shanks Kun, or Red-Haired Shanks.

And we start off with Shanks, who notably has the Straw Hat, doing some schoolwork at Partys Restaurant. I have to imagine that the restaurant is run by Makino in this AU, and is a play on Partys Bar from the main manga, we don't see her in this chapter however. Hopefully we will soon though! I bet she's very cute.

Shanks and Beckman are 3rd year students at New World Middle and Shanks the leader of the Red Hair group.

Riizento/Regent Middle School thugs show up and confront Shanks, as do thugs from Fukumen/Masked Middle School, though are swiftly dealt with or left in the dust after Lucky Roo and Yasopp show up in an escape car. This seems to be a common occurrence, that people from other schools will go after Shanks, due to his status as a widely known figure in Grand City.

After putting some distance between themselves and the thugs, Shanks decides to have a party on the yacht that he apparently owns, because middle school students owning yachts is totally normal in Academy, naturally. I love this series.

Once he's decided to put off doing his schoolwork, Shanks' crew talk about the status of Grand City for a bit, before Mihawk sails up to them in his sick coffin boat… then promptly falls into the water. ahahaha! Silly soggy swordsman.

All's well that ends well however, as we jump ahead to that night where Mihawk has been fished out and is spending time with the group. Shanks and crew are celebrating as Shanks seems to have passed a big test at school and decided to camp out to continue the celebration, while Mihawk tells them to hurry up and go to sleep. Big spoil sport! This is a time to celebrate! hah. Great chapter.

Shanks relationship question

Shanks  (Relationship)

Who Wakes up first in the morning:  His S/O wakes up before he does. He likes to sleep in, but he will wake up to his S/O trying to wiggle out of their way of his arm and will hold them closer not wanting them to leave, after five minutes of cuddling will he get up and bring coffee back for him and his lover while they talk about their next adventure.

Who’s the first to fall asleep at night: It all depends on how much he drinks during the day, if he drinks a lot, he should fall asleep rather fast if his lover is sitting next to him. He sleeps so much better holding his lover in his arms. A few days his lover might fall asleep before him after a few nights of parting. He will pick up his S/O and take them to their shared room and sleep a little after them after putting them to bed.

What they playfully tease each other over:  A lot of things he is a very playful guy himself, he will laugh about his childhood with his S/O or the recent adventure they had. He will laugh if drink spills, or they made it to a party by mistake a little early. He is one to laugh about himself a lot.  He will tease his S/O but in a way that builds their confidence.

What they do when the other’s having a bad day: He does everything he can to make the day better for his S/O. He knows his S/O well enough to read the signs if they are having a bad day. He will try his best to make his S/O better on what they want. A large party with his crew if they like that sort of thing or alone time with him if that is what they want. He just appreciates time with his friends and time with his S/O with a glass of beer.

How they say ‘I’m sorry after arguments:  If he is wrong, he will apologize to his lover, there is no need for all the bells and whistles. He will share a sake or beer with them and apologize after a simple kiss on the temple or holding them close. He accepts simple apologies, simple sake, and beer.

Which one’s more ticklish:  His S/O is more ticklish than him, man is all muscles, he is only slightly under the chin, if his S/O brushes their finger under his chin, he will giggle and kiss them lightly and hold them close. He does enjoy how ticklish his S/O if they are ticklish and isn’t above tickling them and making them laugh. He loves leaving light kisses on their body if they are ticklish.

Their favorite rainy day activities: He loves to snuggle and drinking with his S/O. Whatever other activities his S/O loves to do. He also might enjoy other activities in the sheets.  But parting with his S/O inside would also be enjoyable. But he isn’t one who is against dancing with S/O in the rain.

How they surprise each other: He loves surprise and surprising his S/O. Whether a small romantic gift he found that reminded him of his lover or throwing a large party. His surprises are simple he likes expensive wine, a surprise adventure, an old map that leads to treasure.

Their most sickening show of public affection:  Shanks isn’t shy when he is around his S/O he will have his arms draped over his S/O. He will kiss his S/O in front of people if his S/O is looking cute, hand-holding, hugging. He isn’t above all that. He will even give his S/O a piggyback ride around the island if they choose.

Mistletoe (Shanks x Chloris)

Chloris was humming as she was decorating Shanks’ room getting ready for Christmas, she had decorated most of the Red Forced apartment for the holiday. She danced around Shanks' room as merry tunes of Christmas music filled the air; it was one of her favorite holidays. She smoothly moved around the room placing large Christmas bows in the corner.

Shanks watched her from the doorway a smile on her face, his arms crossed over his chest while he leaned the doorway watching his lover dance, she looked so beautiful he didn’t want to interrupt her dance. She swayed her hips in time with the tune, tucking a pink lock of hair behind her ear. As she was wrapping Christmas lights around his room.

She was getting on her tiptoes to put the lights in a difficult place, she was using the edge of the bed to help give her the extra height almost falling. He caught her before she could collide with the floor and finished the song she had been humming.

“Later on, we'll conspire

As we dream by the fire

To face unafraid

The plans that we've made

Walking in a winter wonderland”

Shanks sang the lines in her ear whispering the song in her ear. “You almost fell,” he chuckled holding her in his arms he loved the tint of pink in her cheeks. He loved the color of pink on her cheek and placed a kiss on her cheeks.

“Thanks for saving me,” he said giggling, “you can put me down now,”

Shanks gently placed her down and gave a small whistle, as he took in the view. He honestly hadn’t noticed the room; his attention had been drawn to the beautiful woman who had been dancing and humming. 

“What do you think” Chloris questioned tucking a long lock of hair behind her ear.

“I like it,” he answered placing his arms around her shoulder. He loved the little touches of the room; it looked festive but had a certain elegance. It fit her.

“The room is missing something,” he said teasing her.

“Like what?” she titled her head. She dug through her boxes seeing what else she could fit in the room. She didn’t want to overwhelm the room with too many decorations and she wasn’t sure what else she could add.

“The mistletoe,” he is opening one of his draws and pulling out the mistletoe he bought early this week. He had been struggling to find when to pull it out to get his kiss, but everything was difficult.

Chloris smiled and giggled a little, “I thought about it,” she answered “but hanging it on your door would lead to me kissing one of your crewmates, Or your crewmates kissing,” she had thought about it but Shanks' friends were mostly other males and she didn’t want to kiss his friends.

“How about over our bed?” he placed the mistletoe on the wall of the bed, way we can wake up every morning sharing a kiss and every night with a kiss,” he smiled a charming smile and took long strides over to her still holding the mistletoe over his head

“I think it sounds perfect,” she wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed him.

So in love with this, noticed immediately in the sketch it was my girl Milky Way cookies new costume, she looks so cute and pretty in it as per usual! 💕💕 Her little hair swirls 🥺

And I love the little ASL and Shanks looking very much like the cookies as well with the white eyes!, Shanks being my pocket sized husband as of now hehe. And Luffy wearing a Christmas hat over his strawhat is such Luffy behaviour 🤭💕💕
