TJ Lane’s Prison Antics

(based on prison documents, you can read here)

-Refuses to do school work, even given the option to draw but abused it by “killer” drawings and covering his math work in kitty cats

-Gave himself 3 tattoos on his chest, unsure of what they are, but he was punished under rule #57 of “self mutilation” which included tattoos

-Urine test showed high amounts of Dilantin and marijuana

-Urinating on a prison wall

-Refusing to wear deodorant to the point that people will not be near him

-Escaping prison, where he was aprehended the same day.

Columbine had already had a tragedy a year before the shooting. In 1998, a student named Robert Craig had killed his father and then himself with a gun at their home.

Some of the students didn’t really care, and their attitude was said to be: ‘’Aw great, another death-metal guy died’’. However, friends of his, including Brooks Brown, had been close to Robert, and became very upset. ‘’The people who weren’t in the popular crowd went through hell of a time when Robert died; seeing the jocks laughing about it made things even worse’’.
