Even though it would be ideal in these times of distributed work, most of us don’t have a full blown office at home. On the contrary, we tend to work at the same table where we eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, or help our kids with homework. It is however important to separate work from personal life as far as possible, and a good way to do so is to dedicate a desk, or part of your kitchen table, and other resources strictly for work. This means that when your laptop is connected to the external screen and keyboard, you’re “at work”, but later, when casually browsing the internet from your couch, the working day is over. #productivity #workfromhome #wfh #distributedwork #habits #remotework #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRENtTGgAWt/?utm_medium=tumblr

You’ve defined your goals, delivered on your milestones within the prescribed deadlines. Now what? Determining the outcome of your efforts – i.e. measuring whether your work actually resulted in the goals you had set – is just one aspect of the post mortem analyses you need to undertake. Another, potentially even more important point, is to dissect your work and understand whether there are opportunities for further fine-tuning ahead of beginning working on your next set of goals and milestones. Taking time out to reflect on your work and achievements is one of the key drivers to continuous improvement, and will empower you to go even further. #productivity #habits #engagement #motivation #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQgQ77UgyO8/?utm_medium=tumblr

Schedule your work days and stick to it...but be a little flexible too. When working remotely, it really helps to have a clear schedule for when to work and when to stop, in order to maintain work-life balance. It’s important to ensure that your professional circumstances don’t eat too much into your well-needed and deserved private time. However, it is impossible to plan everything down to the last detail, and sometimes we all need to be flexible, for example when work piles up as a deadline gets closer, or when you’re working with colleagues in other time zones and you might need to extend your day or start earlier than usual. But make sure to make up for lost time, and log off earlier than usual, or sleep a little later in the morning when things calm down again. #workfromhome #wfh #productivity #habits #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQLz1jaAkCF/?utm_medium=tumblr

Why is this important you may ask? Because personal and professional status quo is a certain killer of engagement and motivation over time. So instead it’s key that you take clear command of your own professional development, and promote yourself and your capabilities for new challenges consistently. Remember, you never need to stop expanding your competences. You’ll be amazed at all the fantastic things you can achieve but simply taking on a new challenge and believing in yourself. #productivity #habits #engagement #motivation #challenges #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPVd8olAlp2/?utm_medium=tumblr

Difficult, emotionally challenging, and stressful tasks demand more willpower to begin, and more commitment to follow through on. Throughout the day, your motivation and mental energy tend to decrease, so it’s in your best interest to do some of your most challenging tasks early on in the day. If you tackle the more challenging things on your to do list quickly - if you “eat that frog” sooner rather than later - the rest of the things you need to get done will feel like a breeze. It can be tough to get going in the morning, but push through and reap the benefits of high productivity and the feeling of good tailwind for the rest of your day. #productivity #engagement #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPQQ-woACOH/?utm_medium=tumblr

Being busy isn’t the same thing as being productive, and unless we’re careful we risk wasting our previous time on work that actually doesn’t really matter. Don’t get caught in the trap of doing useless tasks, work on stuff that has true impact for yourself and your organisation. #productivity #goals #goalsetting #habits #engagement #purpose #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPIVkGgA5Iw/?utm_medium=tumblr

”There is no I in team”, as the saying goes. This is more true now than ever, since it is not so easy to always feel part of a team and a seeing “bigger picture” when working from our kitchen tables instead of rubbing shoulders with colleagues sitting next to us in the office. It takes dedicated efforts from everyone involved to build a truly collaborative working environment, and much of it starts with communication and instilling a culture where everyone’s efforts are recognised. In times of distributed work, each cog is crucial for the machine to function properly, and it’s important that collective achievements are highlighted and rewarded correspondingly. Did you and your team knock the ball out of the park? Celebrate that win, together! 🎉🥂Was a deadline missed, or did you not quite reach the goals you had set? Then take that as an opportunity to learn as a team, and draw conclusions as to how you’ll excel next time.📈 #collaboration #teamwork #workfromhome #productivity #engagement #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPDBEgaArGk/?utm_medium=tumblr

You know all those times you pushed yourself to go the extra mile, and found out you actually could do something you thought was impossible? It felt quite rewarding, right? As it happens, this type of achievement can become a common reality by using a few simple steps. Always set clear goals, and keep them ambitious. Structure your efforts in milestones so you easily can measure your progress; no one climbs the entire mountain in one go! Wrap realistic deadlines around it all to avoid procrastination. Give this a try, and you’ll be rewarded time and time again! #productivity #goals #goalsetting #workfromhome #wfh #collaboration #engagement #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CO-VkgigNdo/?igshid=1uv1luh565ryp

Productivity in the work from home age: The “new normal” era of work is here to stay. By that we of course mean the dramatic shift from a time when most of us worked in physical proximity to our colleagues in one office, to the current distributed and hybrid-remote setup that has now become the norm. But with most of us thus confined to our own kitchen tables, or at best the local coffee shop, what’s happening to the outcome of the efforts we put in? Read out latest thoughts on this topic which affects the majority of global knowledge workers (link in bio). #productivity #workfromhome #wfh #goals # goalsetting #collaboration #engagement #pembio (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CO0MCPpAjZl/?igshid=1b54lo3ejtf77

Humans are creatures of habit, and keeping certain routines helps us get into the mindset we need to be for the tasks ahead. In the pre-pandemic days, many of us used the commute to work as a marker to engage our “work mode”. As most of us are now working from home, the lines between professional and private life are more blurred than ever. So merely setting a time in your calendar when work begins might not be enough, and instead you should establish a routine that sets you up for a productive day in the home office. The habits to get you there do not need to be excessive, since smaller measures can actually do the trick as well. It might be taking the time to enjoy a nice cup of coffee with the morning paper, or going for a walk or jog before opening up the computer. If there is no time for exercise, a useful hack is to get dressed for a day in the office; spending all day in your pajamas doesn’t necessarily get you in the best mental state to execute your to do list. Having your own tailored morning routine is a great way to get you started each day. #productivity #workfromhome #wfh #goals #goalsetting #pembio #routine #mindset (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/COw2zCtg_Kb/?igshid=3uytuz1nushh

There are several reasons why it is important to set goals and objectives. Research confirms that benefits of goal setting include establishing a higher performing professional culture on an individual, team and organisational level, and a more satisfied workforce. This is true both for goals which are formulated on enterprise level, i.e. what an organisation as a whole wants to achieve as well on team level, i.e. what team-specific goals should we as a smaller group focus on in order to further the reaching of the larger goal on organisational level. To find out how goals can help you reach new heights, check out our latest article on Medium: https://medium.com/pembio/achieve-amazing-things-with-the-power-of-goals-d4e5f4aae072

What do you want to achieve? What is your company aiming for this year? This quarter, month and week? What can, and will, you and your team do to bring the business closer to that or those goals? If these questions seem difficult to answer, you’re likely feeling a bit lost at work. To establish a healthy work environment where everyone pulls in the same direction as part of a joint team effort, it is crucial that the road ahead is clearly defined, starting with where we want to go and which goals we want to fulfill, and then staking out the methods and milestones to get you there. #workfromhome #wfh #productivity #collaboration #pembio #engagement #remotework (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/COkK6npAWVe/?igshid=g34n529xiqjj

We all recognise the picture these days. You get up in the morning, get a coffee, and log on. Possibly still in pyjamas, most likely at your kitchen table. With work happening at such a fast pace, and with a never ending to do list, it’s easy to feel lonely and increasingly demotivated. So pause what you’re doing for a minute and do yourself, your team and your organisation a favour: notice your co-workers and give them praise for all the great work they’re doing! A little effort goes a long way, and you’ll immediately see the results of what a happy and well-functioning team can achieve. Work life is much more than spreadsheets, memos and deadlines. #workfromhome #productivity #collaboration #pembio #engagement #remotework (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/COclifngwQw/?igshid=18ctl08xmfxqt
