I agree with ALL of this!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
what Daphne do was wrong yes but what Simon did was even worse. He lied to her. He said he couldn’t give her children. That was a lie. He could’ve explained why he didn’t want children etc. explained the trauma with his father she would’ve been more than understanding. I understand why Daphne is mad AS SHE SHOUDL BE however I will say I don’t like how she goes about this. I would’ve much rather her slap him with the confrontation rather than SA him.

Shoutout! There's a bitch, let's call her Miss Piggy, on Reddit who's been smack talking me while simultaneously eating spoilers off my ass.

Context - those of you who have been around for a while know, that I absolutely HATED what the writers did to Kanthony in Season 2. I still do btw. They fumbled the ball. SO. HARD.
Short explanation: Kate and Edwina in the book are completely supportive, open and transparent with each other. Edwina looks out for Kate as much as Kate looks out for her. The moment it becomes transparent that Anthony is into Kate, Edwina steps aside and encourages a relationship between Kate and Anthony, she starts considering Anthony a brother pretty quickly. Meanwhile there's also an explanation of where the Sharmas got the money to live and finance themselves after the death of the sister's father. All of it is understandable, easy, drama free (at least between the sisters) and EXPLAINED.
Now, in the show I have a problem with what they did.
First off, it's made very clear that Kate used to take care of the family in India. How?
Considering women couldn't really work at the time & the fact that it's never mentioned that Kate actually had a job in India is odd.
Compared to other ladies Kate also seems to be aware of sex, what it means & what happens once it's initiated. - HOW?!?!
In the past I hypothesised, that she might have worked as a prostitute or had been somebody's mistress. I stand by that.
That could, in fact, be supported by the scene, when after Kate sleeps with Anthony, she actually leaves him, when we know that women at the time didn't know much about pregnancy & Kate couldn't have known whether she was already pregnant or not, yet she apparently wasn't worried about that.
Apparently, thinking critically about that plot hole makes me problematic.
Apparently the fact that I'm against TWO WOMEN OF COLOUR, Kate & Edwina, being pitted against each other, Kate keeping things from her sister and Edwina hating her unnecessarily, makes me problematic ✌🏽
The fact, that I'm disgusted by the idea, that Kate was ready to shove Edwina into a marriage with Anthony, whom she KNEW wasn't attracted to E, didn't love E & was kind of an ass, for MONEY from Edwina's grandparents, effectively selling her sister out & off - however well intentioned - makes ME problematic!
The fact that I'm pissed that we couldn't get to see a pair of POC sisters supporting one another through thick and thin MAKES ME PROBLEMATIC 💀
On the other hand, Miss Piggy is calling me RACIST (for those who don't know I Am a biracial women myself) for UNDERSTANDING Daphne's actions (not condoning, not supporting - simply UNDERSTANDING) with Simon.
Here you have a 20 year old women, with 0 control over her life, 0 freedom.
She's essentially forced to marry a guy (however much she likes him, the opportunity to choose Simon was TAKEN AWAY from Daphne) who openly tells her he doesn't want her, who'd rather get shot and killed than be with her.
He makes her assume/believe, that the one thing she has wanted all her life - kids - isn't something he CAN give her & she accepts all of that, swallows that pill, marries him, loves him, only to eventually discover that HE HAS MADE HER BELIEVE A LIE.
He CAN give her the one thing she's always wanted, the one thing that women are told to aspire to have - Children.
He can.
But once again someone else - SIMON - takes her ability to choose AWAY.
She has a child's reaction (remember - 20 years old!), grinds her teeth and tries to trick and force him into giving her what she wants. (Keep in mind, that she doesn't "violently" rape him, he's more than happy to have sex with her. The issue arises from the fact, that he doesn't want to cum inside of her - like that makes much of a difference, considering 21 century understanding has taught us, that precum gets you just as pregnant - anyway, don't get it twisted, it's still morally wrong, it's still rape - I'm arguing there's layers here people, I'm not trying to exonerate her.)
At that point, to her, his reasons and wishes be dammed. (Among other things, a counter assault like this is actually exceptionally common in victims of abuse, kidnapping or rape. One of the ways, people with the trauma of having their choices taken away respond, can be through oppressing or controlling other people.)
I AM NOT(!) condoning Daphne's actions. I do not support her way of asserting control over her life. But I understand WHY she does what she does!
Call it a lawyers mindset.
I try to look behind the curtains.
I try to understand.
I QUESTION.
I assume the worst, I hope the best.
I'd hope that doesn't somehow make me a horrible person to the ones of you that aren't filled with more vitriol than logic.
I'm not going to let some inwardly ugly bitch on reddit tell people half truths or make up lies about me.
Keep yourself in check, trash! ✌🏽
FYI - The fact that I ask these questions, the fact that I'm pissed, the fact that I understand what happened - all that doesn't mean I don't like Kate&Anthony or Daphne&Simon. I'm just not happy with the writing.
As many of you know, I'm also not happy with the season 3 writing.
Those are MY opinions. You don't have to share them. You don't have to agree. You don't even have ro read me, there's a lovely block button somewhere on tumblr.
But as long as you cannot 100% debunk my thoughts & views, YOU DON'T GET TO SHAME ME!
Thanks for sticking with me thus far! Thanks for reading!
Bye ❤️

hi bestie! First off thank you!!! You are doing the lords work with these spoilers and I can’t thank you enough!!
I hope it’s not too forward of me to ask but do we get Colin boob/mouth action in part 2? Me and all of our moots are hoping we get some kind of boob action.
again thank you so much for letting us all know what’s happening. So many people out there are trying to scare Polin stans.
I don't think so, no. Then again, my viewing quality sucked with 7 ladies & 3 dudes cheering, dancing and whoooing during all the sex scenes. 💀
But it's also not porn. I think that would have gone a bit too far during filming... right? Idk. I didn’t see it. He kisses her body & her a lot tho.

Hey do we get Penelope sitting on Colin's lap in part 2 ?
Not in the way a child would. She does bounce on him at some point.

Not really a fan of Bridgerton, but I am a fan of Nicola Coughlan's response to everyone shitting on her for being "too big" to play a love interest
