Bond author says Idris Elba is “too street” to play 007
While talking about his new Bond book Trigger Mortis, author Anthony Horowitz called Elba “too street” to play 007. It’s not about race, he insisted, just about Elba. “For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part,” Horowitz said. “It’s not a color issue. I think he is probably a bit too ‘street’ for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.” Horowitz then gave a half apology on Twitter.
