"are you serious?" mason questioned in shock as he looked at the girl. "how do you not like marshmallows? you must be insane." he replied with a shake of his head. "i could eat a whole bag in one sitting."

"what? why not?" mason questioned with furrowed brows. "you seem great. i don't understand why anyone wouldn't want you around all the time." he complimented with a shake of his head. "i think people are insane."

“i might be able to assist with one or two pieces.” she laughed, keeping a steady pace as she followed him to collect firewood. “isn’t that what coming back is all about. the company, the friends. just like it all used to be?”

"yeah, you would think." mason replied with a soft sigh. "unfortunately things aren't as simple as they used to be though. so much has changed." he added with shrugged shoulders. "but who knows,  maybe this place will take everyone back soon."

the first set of words coming from the brunette were hopeful, yet amy couldn’t help but to doubt whether nina’s definition of fun was the same as hers, but then again time had passed and people had changed. or at least amy thought so after hearing the next words coming from the petite. “you’re kidding, right?” the tattooed female asked with a small frown between ebony brows. “i was thinking more like tequila and strip poker or something — gotta get out of your comfort zone one day, darling. so, are you in?”

nina's brows furrowed as soon as she heard the female's suggestion. she knew that she was innocent, but all she truly wanted was to fit in with the other campers. even if it meant stepping out of her comfort zone just a little. besides, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. and hopefully, she'd be able to make a friend out of this. "um, i don't really know what that is but sure." nina answered with a soft smile. "yeah, i'm in. lets do it!"

it was clear that the two of them were very different from each other and that always created some sort of awkward tension between them, but it didn’t bother asher much. after all he said and did whatever he wanted no matter what. “you don’t have to be polite with me, you know.” asher replied with a shrug, taking a drag from his cigarette. another chuckle left his mouth at the next words she spoke. “pretty much everything can kill you, babe. but thanks for the concern.”

"i'm not." the female lied as she swallowed the lump in her throat. she had been raised to be polite, it has sort of become her second nature. sometimes she forgot she was even doing it. "yeah, i mean, i get that..but c'mon.." nina whispered with a frown, eyes glued to the cigarette in his hand. "why would you do something so harmful to your body? god designed it for you to take care of. you're art. and you're just ruining it."

juno blinked at him. shrugged. “what the hell,” she mumbled before starting off towards the trail into the woods. “is there supposed to be a bonfire tonight or something?” she asked over her shoulder. she seemed to always be talking over her shoulder.

"i mean, i'm going to make one." he answered with a shrug. "i don't think it's an official thing but i'm in the mood for s'mores." mason added with a soft chuckle before slowing down his pace and stopping to look at her. "did you need help?" he offered as he pointed to her tank.

“not at all,” vance furrowed his brow, “it’s actually quite endearing. and smart. i envy you a little.” he forced a smile to cover up his true feelings. he wish he was in her shoes. he quickly shook the thought and chuckled down at the clear water. “is it- is it cold?”

"oh, you shouldn't envy me. it's a sin. and besides that, you're way too cool to want a life like mine." she complimented with a soft smile before shaking her head at his question. "it's refreshing. it feels good with all the heat. i'd say it's the perfect temperature." nina answered.

“i wouldn’t expect you to think any less of me” ivy said while sighing, her eyes wandering around in front of her. when she heard the word s’mores, her head whipped to the side and she raised her eyebrows. “are you kidding me? is that even a question?” she shook her head and laughed. “you should know by now that s’mores are one of my favorite things on this planet!”

"i knew you couldn't resist." mason teased as he began putting the logs into the pit. "thanks for coming along with me to get the wood. even if you didn't help very much." he joked as he began building the fire.

rowan groaned, continuing to follow mason. this kid seriously wanted him to go and find some twigs with him. “that’s not even the worst scandal about me, actually.” he scoffed, shaking his head. “you’ll never get to me.”

"jesus, what kind of stuff have you done?" mason questioned with a raised brow. unsure if he actually wanted to know or not. "we'll see about that." he replied as he picked up a few pieces of wood.

“if a splinter would stop me, or anyone, from coming out here then there’d be some issues there.” ivy rolled her eyes when she heard mason laugh, her head immediately starting to shake. “i never said i’d be much help, so it figures that i’d just drop it all.” trying not to laugh at herself, she quickly turned and began to walk whilst internally giggling.

"i'm starting to feel like you did it on purpose." mason teased as he walked back with her, an arm full of wood as he made his way to the pit. "are you going to join me for some s'mores?"

brooke laughed softly at him and shook her head. she picked up a few sticks whenever she saw them. “this fire better work out.” she laughed softly, shaking her head a bit. “i will be very upset if it doesn’t.”

"it will. i used to make fires all the time back in high school." mason assured the girl with a small smile. "and i have stuff for s'mores. i mean, doesn't that sound amazing right now? i think it's just what this camp needs."

     it was already enough of a pain in her ass that they had been asking olly to give them a ride into town–a serious pain in her ass. and usually ass pains were a normal occurrence for olyvia.–but now they wouldn’t just shut the fuck up about whatever the fuck they were even talking about and olly had warned them about talking during the drive. with a roll of her eyes she groaned obnoxiously, turning to face the other, “okay, so obviously your frontal lobe is not fully developed.“ 

a frown captured nina’s lips as she heard the others words, very quickly she sat back in her seat and stayed quiet. when she got excited about things, especially the bible, it was hard for her to shut up. “i mean, you’re not wrong. i still have a few more years till it’s fully developed.” nina spoke up with a nervous smile. “i’ll be quiet. i’m sorry.”

“hey, you don’t have to help.” the male replied with shrugged shoulders. “but i’ll make sure i’ll tell everyone it’s because you were too busy jacking off.”

“yeah, no.” rowan laughs a little too, shaking his head. “they’re…uh, more made for banging things.” he says with a smirk before adding, “made for banging things title of my sex tape!” and laughing. he watched as the other walk towards the forest and with a groan, he followed.

"that's horrible." mason grumbled with a roll of his eyes before laughing gently to himself. "you're not afraid to get a little dirty, are you?"

   “i— you—” for the first time in a long time, words escaped her. and she loathed it. “i am not cute when i’m angry!” her arms straightened to her sides aggressively as if to make her as tall as him. her teeth clamped together as if to try and hold herself together. three, two, one… she can’t let him get under her skin the way he does already. it wasn’t worth the time. this would all be over in all of ten minutes if she hurried enough. “alright, wonderboy i’m just going to ignore your little comment and move on from it.” as if that made her the bigger person, which was nearly impossible in all aspects. she gazed upward at him. “why are you here anyway?”

his lips curved into a small smirk before he shook his head back and forth. "i like the lake." he answered with a shrug. it wasn't a lie, but he was indeed hiding the fact that his mother practically begged him to come. "it's peaceful." mason added, still keeping up with her step. "why are you here? you don't seem to be enjoying it very much. i mean, just from what i've observed."

   her features screwed up, bemused. “your mama ever tell you that you’re too persistent?” obviously not. or maybe she did and he just persisted to persist. that sounded more like him. “oh yes,” she feigned. “the streets of medford, oregon are notorious for their gangs and crime activity.” she sighed heavily through her nose. there was no shaking this one. so, she would just have to tolerate until she could. the corners of her mouth deepened into a frown. that seemed ages away. her eyes traced over his features once. then twice. something about him seemed… familiar. her eyes narrowed. “i’m no damsel, i hope you know that wonderboy.” all the boys around here looked the same. that must be it. “ but, if you must then let’s hurry up and get this over with.” her feet finally regained their pace again and, as expected, the boy stayed by her side. “are you going to make me ask for your name, or am i just going to call you wonderboy for the rest of this walk?”

"my mom said persistence is a great thing to have." he replied with a playful smirk before shaking his head at her words, hands shoving into his pockets as he let out a sigh. he could easily tell her his name, but the thought of her not recognizing it scared him. he didn't want to face the reality that he may have never meant anything to her. "wonderboys nice. i like it." he replied with shrugged shoulders. "and i'll call you damsel." he added with a smirk. "mainly because i know you can't stand it. you're cute when you're angry."
