To the minors of this community

Hello. I know if you're a minor reading the title of this your eyes probably rolled back into your head. I know mine would've when I was young and online. To be fully transparent the rest of this statement will not be better than the title but I would ask that you read it anyways. I joined this community in 2019 when I was 13. I'm turning 20 this upcoming year. I want to speak on the things I've learned from experience in this community so maybe there can be a safer experience for those who join like I did at that age.

It is my personal belief that this community is not a safe place for minors but I know I am not the first person to make this observation and I know minors will continue to lurk here regardless of if its safe.

No person at the age of twenty or over should EVER be striking up a conversation with you as a minor about teasing you or you teasing them. I know you probably think they just think you're mature for your age. They don't. They'll tell you they think that but they think quite the opposite. I could spend hours listing off all the tricks in the book they use to make you comfortable and I'm telling you that you should not fall for it. Any grown adult who is talking to you about that kind of thing is trying to groom you. They don't see you as mature for your age, they see you as moldable for becoming what they want.

Non-con IS NOT okay in real life. Fictionally it's less concerning however in the same breath at a young age your mind is suceptable to things like that. Do not ever let someone put you in a situation like that as a minor. You should always be able to get out of that situation if you need to, even as an adult.

Partaking in "sessions" with bondage are not safe for minors and bondage should have no place in sfw Tumblr. It can be non-sexual however it is still kink. You can partake in kink with friends platonically but it is not safe for work.

This community builds upon and feeds eating disorders. There is a certain glamourization of skinniness that makes anyone who's ANYTHING more than curvy feel dirty. No person should feel like they have to change themself to be considered desirable. This is a very personal subject to me as I developed anorexia from this community that I'm just now starting to recover from.

A lot of these things minors get intentionally exposed to by adults are grooming tactics. Be it trying to condition them into thinking their consent doesn't matter or trying to slowly ease them into kinks that are MUCH more intense or just trying to have someone to tend to their every lee whim it is grooming.

To the person reading this now, thank you for finishing through this. I'm not saying you need to vacate this community like people said to me when I was your age but listen to me when I say you need to be so so so so careful. You do not know who anyone is online, especially on Tumblr where there is no way to prove that who you're talking to is who they say they are. Do not engage in teasing with anyone you don't know well. Tickling is a form of physical affection. If you wouldn't be comfortable doing it with a stranger in your real life then don't do it online.
