Hi sry for coming in like this but I fear the AI thing on august 13th is like. Not a good thing for anyone. It disables your account if it suspects you of being underage and deletes it after 60 days and you need your full government ID to verify that you aren't underage, which is not safe to give away to anything if it's not legally required. Sure you can initially have the idea that 'Oh it makes things safer for kids' but its censorship in its entirety and while I do believe kids should have things be put in place to keep them safe it is not this

I understand you have good intentions but society is incredibly bigoted and this will only cut kids off from learning about things that is important and will not be taught in school, such as racism, queer history, ect. Youtube can be a great place to learn about these things safely and by keeping children in the dark it only does more harm than good. This may prevent kids from watching videos related to sex/gore but it is more likely to prevent kids from getting necessary information they need to understand the world

It is not an act done out care for childrens well being it is an act done out of a means to control the younger generation via what information they can gather and mold them into more harmful and ignorant beliefs

I respectfully disagree, I’m not sure who or where you got your information from, but mine is right from the horses mouth. YouTube will not terminate your account, that makes no sense, they want money more than anything. This is what WILL happen:

This is truly about protecting the kids, it’s not about culturing a bigoted wave of children like bacteria, at all. If anything it’s to discourage hate!

I dislike YouTube like any other guy out there, but this is a good step in the right direction. This is also my last post on this matter.

hey Perry, I’m not sure if you’ve already discussed this before but I was wondering what you’re gonna do after August 13th? (AKA, they day where YouTube starts using their AI id verification thing.)

I just looked into it and I think overall it’s a good thing. If we can get one step closer to protecting minors online, I’m willing to do it. From what I read, it uses what you search for and watch to determine if you’re a minor or an adult. If it flags you as a minor when you’re an adult, then you can use your id to override it. But if your account is flagged as a probable minor, it will just prevent you from viewing age restricted content.

I think it’s not that big of a deal and overall a win for the safety of kids.
