What an explosive new "Japanese Cat Communication 2017''
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/explosive-new-japanese-cat-communication-2017/
What an explosive new "Japanese Cat Communication 2017''
In case you’re not a follower of all things cat research, I’m happy to present a breakthrough study on the matter…
This new study has showed us something fascinating about how animals think and comprehend us.
The results basically indicated that felines have an astounding ability to understand our words. They can understand human language!
Japanese researchers in Tokyo uncovered this special trait, which separates domestic house cats from all other large, wild felines (tigers, lions and so forth). It turns out the smallest and cutest ones of them all are the most verbally sophisticated. It appears house cats have actually evolved to understand us as part of their domestication.
They understand us by our pitch. They can tell if we’re angry or if we want to hug them.
They can understand us by our words. They know their name, our name, and a host of other titles we assign to things around the house or activities.
And most fascinating of all, they’ve evolved to mirror us. In the wild, cats prefer to be pin drop quiet. They are hunters that catch prey by closing distance through silence and camouflage followed by a brief sprint. This is why when cats communicate to each other, the primary device is their body, not their vocals.
And yet with you and me, cats constantly break this rule. Why though?
Again, it goes back to domestication. Watching humans communicate to each other through voice, cats have learned to mirror us.
The fascinating thing about this brain-level chance is that cats have developed a sort of language of their own. In between the meows, purrs, and hisses is a genuine language built on tone and word length.
Yes, it can be deciphered. In fact it already has. This is what the Cat Language Bible by Jonas Jurgella is in a nutshell. It is years of research into the field of human to feline communication, condensed and compressed into a simple guide that anyone can pick up and use on-the-fly with their own cat.
Use it to interpret cat sounds as they’re happening. Now you can finally understand if your cat is sick or just energetic.
Read his thoughts by reading his body. It’s tough to know when your cat wants to be left alone versus when he’s genuinely sad and feeling secluded. Now you can tell using some verbal and nonverbal giveaways common to all felines.
Speak to him in a way that he can understand. Cats may not have the advanced language capability that humans do — yet they make sounds that can also be understood and interpreted by us.
Would you like to actually say something to your cat that he could really understand on his own terms? The Cat Language Bible™ will tell you how to do it.
See the FREE video here for more information – Click HERE!
In my opinion as a cat owner, this is a must-have in any animal household. Pick it up, and see how much closer a connection you can build with your own feline through the power of direct human to cat conversation.

Why Worry About Your Dog’s Diet? Review by David
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/worry-dogs-diet-review-david/
Why Worry About Your Dog’s Diet? Review by David
Why Worry About Your Dog’s Diet?
Your dog is your buddy. In some cases the best friend. They offer you unconditional love and company.  Some breeds live to please you.  They can brighten up your day when you get home after a long day of the office with how excited they are to see you.  It is a known fact that having a dog can improve your mental health and offer companionship for many people. Dogs can be trained to do a number of things, they can be trained to be a Seeing Eye dog, police dog, and even clown dogs. They can do tricks such as dance with your, sit,  play dead.
Dogs refuses to eat.
Well I don’t, or at least I didn’t up until a short while ago. I was one of those dog owners who didn’t give my dogs diet a second thought. I bought whatever dog food was one sale that week and never read the ingredients. I listened to my vet advertise brands of dog food and sometimes took his advice but other times didn’t because I knew he was being paid to promote the food. I could tell because of all the free samples he was trying to get rid of.
The reason the dog does not eat
I wasn’t however, one of those people who fed their dogs leftovers from the dinner table. Those are the people who fall for the puppy dog eyes that our dogs seem to have mastered. That is not to say I didn’t toss him a taste every now and then, but for the most part, I never fed him. Some of the food we eat can be toxic for a dog, and greasy foods, or fried food,  forget it.  Have fun cleaning up after him after that mess!
It wasn’t until I noticed my dog’s coat not looking as shiny as it once did. Other dog owners have said it wasn’t until their dogs began scratching themselves silly or not have much energy that they notice something was the matter. One person said it wasn’t until their dog’s stomach grew so much from him being overweight did they realize their might have been a problem with the food.
If we eat too much and don’t exercise enough we are going to get fat as our dogs.
Dogs are mammals, just like us. If we eat too much and don’t exercise enough we are going to get fat as our dogs. If we eat food that is not good for us, we tend to feel lethargic afterwards and do not want to move. Eating unhealthy for us can cause a whole slew of problems from heart disease to diabetes. We can make our skin look unhealthy and our hair and when we go to bathroom. Well let us just say that it can be pretty ugly sight.
If they eat too much and get no exercise they become overweight.
Dogs are no different. If they eat too much and get no exercise they become overweight. If they eat food that is not good for them, they to can feel lethargic and have no energy. What they eat can affect their coat and their skin. Dogs can get most of the same diseases we do. They can get cancer, they can get heart disease, and have heart attacks. They can even get diabetes.
This is why it is so important to understand why your dog’s diet is so important to their lives. Just like with us, dogs are what they eat, just like we are. Unfortunately though a dog can not tell you when something does not feel right on them,  or when they have a stomach ache from the food they eat. Most of us watch what we eat because of the health benefits that come with the effort, and it  is the same thing in our dogs.
An unbalanced diet for you dog could mean a shorter lifespan that your dog has.
A dogs diet needs are not that different from our own. They require the same vitamins and minerals as we do just not in the same quantity. They require protein, carbohydrates and fats just like we do. Their stomachs work similar to ours. There are only a few differences. If we eat too much and not exercise enough, we get overweight. Overweight can bring on a whole slew of problems for us.   For a dog, it is no different. If they eat too much and do not get enough exercise, they too will become overweight and they too will deal with a whole slew of problems also. The food we put into our body can affect our skin and our hair. The food we put on a dogs body affects their skin and their hair. Why do some dog owners think otherwise? We eat certain foods to give us the nutrition we need to keep us healthy. The same is true for dogs. While they can not eat the same foods we do, careful attention should be paid to the ingredients in dog food to make sure they are getting a healthy and nutritious meal.
Poor diet in dogs could mean many things. Dogs with a poor diet do not have high energy levels, they many develop healthy problems down the line, they can be overweight or underweight. They can have teeth problems, bad breath, infections.  The list goes on and on. An unbalanced diet for you dog could mean a shorter lifespan that your dog has.
Keep your dog on a feeding schedule.
Just as important as a good diet is, it is just as important to keep your dog on a feeding schedule. Free feeding your dog is almost like an invitation to obesity for some dogs. They can just graze all day. Getting your dog on a set schedule will help his diet in the long run and also his potty and business breaks outside.
Most dog owners consider their dog part of their family. Keeping a dog on a good diet has tons of benefits. You could be preventing a number of diseases, stomach issues and even be preventing cancer in some dogs. Just like us dogs can get cancer, they can get diabetes and they can even suffer from high blood pressure. What does your doctor tell you to do if this were to happen to you?  Your doctor would tell you to change your diet.
You could keep allergies at bay if you make the smart choices for dog food.  You could help prevent arthritis in your dog as they age. There are so many more reasons why you should make sure your dog is getting the best food available. With the proper diet, you could be looking at added years together.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN CAT URINE 2017
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/best-way-clean-cat-urine-2017/
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN CAT URINE 2017
Few things are worse than the lingering smell of cat urine. This stubborn problem requires detailed cleaning and a few good habits. Make sure you have the necessary supplies on hand and always be prepared for any surprises your cat has in store for you.
Cleaning Up Cat Urine
Blot the urine on your carpet with paper towels. Try to remove as much of the urine as possible. This will ultimately make your job easier. Use clean paper towels and apply pressure. Repeat with new paper towels until you are unable to soak up any more urine.[1]
Skip this step if the urine has already dried.
You can also use old throw away towels instead of paper ones. The thickness of regular towels allows for better absorption, soaking up more cat urine. If available, use a white towel. Once there’s no longer a yellow-tint to the liquid being absorbed, you’ll know all the urine has been absorbed.
Use an enzymatic cleaner. Enzymatic cleaners, like Nature’s Miracle, contain special biological enzymes that break down the proteins in urine, reducing or even completely eliminating the smell.
Note that some enzymatic cleaners may not work if other chemicals were used beforehand to try to treat the stain. It is generally a good idea to try the enzymatic cleaner first, and saturate the area well. Follow the manufacturer’s directions closely and allow to dry for several days. You may not have to do anything else.
Mix up a vinegar solution. If an enzyme cleaner didn’t completely remove the smell, use a vinegar solution. Combine equal parts of white vinegar and water in a bowl or spray bottle. Saturate or spray the soiled area. Saturate a little bit beyond the soiled area so you can be sure to remove all urine.
If you have a black light or UV light at your disposal, you can see the urine glow in the dark and find the exact location of the urine spot.
Scrub the vinegar solution into the soiled area. Use a bristle brush and thoroughly rub the vinegar/water mixture until the area is completely soaked. The vinegar will neutralize the ammonia smell in your cat’s urine.
Dry the area thoroughly. Again, use paper towels or a clean rag to blot up as much vinegar solution as possible. Let the area air dry completely after you’ve blotted it.
Disinfect hard surfaces. Wash the soiled area with a household cleaner that does not contain ammonia. Ammonia smells like urine to dogs and cats. Wipe the area clean with water. In a spray bottle, mix 10 parts water to 1 part bleach. Put on rubber gloves and spray the soiled area. Let the bleach sit for 30 seconds, then clean the soiled area with a damp cloth.
Be careful with the bleach as it may damage and change the color of some materials.
Check clothing for urine. If any clothing has urine, add 1 cup (60 ml) of apple cider vinegar to the laundry detergent in your regular wash. If you still smell urine, add some enzymatic cleaner to your wash.
Dry cleaning may be necessary. If you can’t get the smell or stain out of an item, you may just have to throw it out.
Deodorizing the Area
Sprinkle baking soda over the area. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a natural cleaner as well as an odor-absorber and deodorant.
Mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and mild dish detergent together. Mix 1/2 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide with one teaspoon (5 ml) of dish detergent and spread it over the baking soda.
You may want to spot test this cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area at first to confirm that there is no discoloration.
Use a scrub brush to rub the solution into to the baking soda. Wear rubber gloves if possible, and wait for the telltale foaming action of the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to kick in.
Vacuum the soiled area. Vacuuming the soiled area removes both the urine particles and the deodorizer you applied. Extracting wet vacs work the best for this since they saturate the carpet and then vacuum the water back into the vacuum’s tank. In a pinch, you can use your regular vacuum; it just won’t be as effective as the wet vac.
For best results with a wet vac, use cool water in the vacuum tank and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Avoid using steam cleaners, since the high heat will actually set the stain.
Reducing the Chances of Accidents
Cat Spraying No More Review
Re-train your cat. Never yell or punish your cat for urinating in the wrong area. Instead, quickly move her to the litter box. Consistently take her to the litter box and give positive feedback when she uses it. This will reinforce a positive association with urinating and her litter box.
Replace the cat’s litter box more often. Cats like clean litter boxes, just as humans like clean bathrooms. If you’re neglecting your cat’s needs when it comes to offering a clean litter box, he may find it harder to resist urinating on your sofa or carpet.
Keep your cat’s litter box in a quiet location that is not near its feeding area. This will increase the chance that the box will be used properly.
Consider getting your cat neutered or spayed. Cats that are spayed will not purposely urinate in order to mark their territory, solving the problem for you in the first place. Plus, you won’t end up with a litter of kittens to potty train!
Have your cat checked by the veterinarian. While accidents do happen, particularly with young or even elderly animals, there may be a medical issue at the heart of the problem if you notice your pet urinating inappropriately. Contact your veterinarian to discuss possible medical reasons that your cat is urinating outside of the litter box. Ignoring a medical issue, such as a urinary tract infection, kidney disease or diabetes, could be life threatening for your pet.

How to Get Cat Urine Out of Mattress | Quick & Easy Solutions 2017
Cat urine can be toxic and cause respiratory problems, it stinks, and it’s definitely not something you want close to where you sleep. So if your cat happens to urinate on your mattress, you’ll want to address the stain immediately. Your best bet for removing the urine and getting rid of the smell completely is an enzyme cleaner, which will break down the chemical bonds of the urine, or all-purpose cleaning products like baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide. The key, however, is cleaning the urine as soon as possible and removing all traces of urine smells, otherwise the cat may mark the same area again.

How to Find Cat Urine With a UV Light | With Video Guide
Although the source of cat urine is often hard to find, you can pinpoint it fairly easily using a simple UV light. As funny as it sounds, cat urine glows under UV, or “black” light, which is a type of light that we can’t visibly see (like infrared radiation, or microwave radiation). Turns out, tanning beds aren’t the only thing artificial UV light is good for!

How to Find Where Cat Urine | 3 Tips Simple
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/can-find-cat-urine/
How to Find Where Cat Urine | 3 Tips Simple
No matter how much you love Fluffy, it is still really hard to live in a home where you need to constantly spend time detecting cat urine.  So, to facilitate the quiet enjoyment of your common abode, the following are some useful insights into how to remove cat urine and the lingering smell from carpet, leather, furniture, wooden floors and walls.
1 – Sniff It Out
If you can still smell cat urine after cleaning the litter box, it’s likely your cat peed somewhere else. Sometimes finding where your cat peed is as easy — and gross — as sniffing it out. Try to identify the room the smell is coming from and check in the most likely places first. Planters are a favorite because of the soil in them.
2 – Look for Stains
Obviously, this will be more effective if your furniture and carpeting are made of lighter, more absorbent materials, but you should check for discoloration where it smells. Don’t forget to check behind and under furniture and on walls. Puddles are obvious signs a cat is peeing in a certain area, and there might be some older stains there, too.
3 – Use/buy a decent-sized UV or “fluorescent black” light.
Look for a long bulb (preferably longer than 12 inches) so you can cover more ground at once. Cheap bulbs with the housing included can be found at most hardware stores. Although pet stores sell the lights as well, they’re usually smaller and more expensive. They can also be purchased at a reasonable cost online, depending on how much time you have to wait around living with the odor.
Whatever the reason your cat has been going outside of the box, you’ll need to locate the places where she’s peeing to get rid of the cat urine odor.
Use a sweeping motion and gradually move farther away from the generally smelly location.  The cat urine that you’re looking for should show up as a yellow/greenish color. You may be surprised to find a stain farther away than you thought. Don’t just check the floor; cats are inventive! Try the following areas:
Bookshelves
Furniture
Cloth decorations
Inside vents
Objects that appear to have “holes,” such as inside portable heaters
Clothing that your cat may be able to access
Other small areas your cat could squeeze into
Anywhere else you can think of – if you can see it, it could be your source.
If you suspect the glowing spots you see are the source of your odor problem, read How to Get Rid of Cat Urine Smell for cleaning tips.

How to Get Rid of Cat Urine Smell | Best Tips 2017
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/get-rid-cat-urine-smell-best-tips-2017/
How to Get Rid of Cat Urine Smell | Best Tips 2017
Why does cat urine smell so bad?
Cats originated as desert dwelling animals and don’t consume as much water as other mammals, this results in the cat’s urine being more concentrated and the more concentrated, the stronger the urine will smell.
Along with that, the urine of entire (un-neutered) male cats contains hormones which make the urine smell much stronger than that of females or neutered males. These hormones serve a purpose, they enable the tom to mark his territory, attracting females and deterring any possible competing males.
As cat urine dries, bacteria break it down forming ammonia substances making the odour even more unpleasant. To avoid this, cat urine should be cleaned as quickly as possible before it begins to break down.
How to Get Rid of Cat Urine Smell:
Find the source. If there is a smell of urine in your house then the first thing you need to do is find out where it is coming from. Track the wet patch down or, if the stain has already dried, then look for a stained patch or consider using a black light to reveal the affected area responsible for the cat smell in the house.
Soak up the urine with a towel, and pick up any faeces with a plastic bag. Pop your gloves on first. If there are cat faeces as ell as urine, use a plastic bag pick it up, then turn the bag inside out to carry it to a bin. Blot any urine with the towels, being careful not to spread it over a wider area. If the stain is already dry, pour on a little cold water and then blot the area. If you’re pregnant, let a friend or family member take this job on.
Use a specialist (ideally, enzymatic) cleaning product on the affected area. Most pet shops will stock something appropriate. Read the label carefully before you apply it and test on a small, inconspicuous area first to check that it’s suitable for your surface.
Combine white vinegar and water, and apply to the stain. You need equal amounts of each ingredient for this solution. Soak the stain thoroughly, and then use a brush to scrub it into the area. Finally, let it air dry. You can also use a non-coloured mouthwash with alcohol instead of vinegar.
Disinfect hard surfaces, and wash any fabrics. Domestos bleach spray is a good bet here. Once again, check the label and follow instructions on any cleaning product you use. For soft furnishings with washable covers, you might consider running these (along with any affected clothes) through the wash.
Sprinkle baking powder or unused coffee grounds on the affected area. This applies to really stubborn stains that still have you wondering how to get rid of cat pee smell. Leave it for a few hours (ideally overnight) and then hoover it up.
If you’ve dealt with any urine stains, but you’re still left wondering how to get rid of cat smell in the house, there’s a chance it’s pet hair that’s the problem. Take a look at our guide to the best pet odour remover products and solutions to find some of the best ways of learning how to get rid of cat urine smell. We hope that these tips helped you learn how to get rid of cat urine smell, and keep your home smelling fresh and clean for a long time to come.

How to Remove Cat Urine from Carpet | Best Tips 2017
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/remove-cat-urine-carpet-best-tips-2017/
How to Remove Cat Urine from Carpet | Best Tips 2017
All urine smells, but there seems to be something stronger and more unpleasantly pungent about cat urine.  Whether your cat has had some accidents, or you have inherited a cat lady’s former abode, we’ll give you some tips on how to remove cat urine from carpet and Tips to prevent accidents.
Tips to Prevent Accidents:
Before we get to the nitty gritty of how to remove cat urine from clothing, rugs, and fabrics, it’s important to remember that most of these accidents are preventable. The reasons are many that a cat may choose to urinate outside of her litter box. Sometimes it’s innocent – something random to us but instinctual to her inspired her fancy, while other motivations may be more serious, like an unchecked medical condition that requires attention. Whatever the reason, here are a few tips to prevent your little buddy from creating any more havoc:
Spay or neuter. If you haven’t already done so, spay or neuter the perp. Not only is it the responsible thing to do, but it will help deter your cat from feeling the need to “mark” territory.
Clean up previous pet stains. Cats seem to go back to spots where they or another pet have urinated to cover over it. Properly cleaning the area can help your cat to forget there’s somewhere important they have to pee.
Keep laundry and blankets off the floor. Because cats just like to add to the chaos, keep piles of dirty clothes and folded blankets off the floor. These are like cat magnets. First they cuddle, then they pee.
Purchase rugs that don’t have a rubber bottom. As weird as this may sound, sometimes certain smells can attract cats to a spot that they just haveto pee on. The smell of rubber is one of them.
Keep that litter box pristine.Your idea of clean and your cat’s idea of clean may not be the same. Choose a time each day to clean the box and sprinkle a baking-soda based deodorizer to keep things fresh for your cat.
Don’t make the cat mad. Easier said than done, amirite?! In my case, my cat often pees on my stuff if I don’t feed him at a specific time of day or if I’ve done something to irritate him.
Take your cat in for a check-up. Sometimes peeing outside the litterbox can indicate a health problem in your cat, such as diabetes. If all else fails, get your critter checked out.
Fresh Cat Urine
Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels.  No not rub.
If you have a wet/dry vacuum like a shop vac, use that to remove as much urine as possible
Mix ¼ teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent with one cup warm water.  Pour in spray bottle if you have one.
Spray the solution onto the carpet or blot the solution on.  Do not over soak the carpet to avoid spreading the stain.
If you have a ShopVac, use it to extract the cleaning solution.  If not, blot the spot with clean cloths or paper towels.
Rinse the area with warm water and repeat extraction.
Repeat steps 1-6 until the stain is gone.
Follow treatment with an enzyme based cleaner designed to remove pet stains such as Nature’s Miracle.
Old Cat Urine
If you can still smell urine and the carpetappears clean, chances are that the urine has soaked into the carpet padding or even into the flooring beneath the carpet and padding.  Use a blacklight to identify exactly where the stains are located.  You can try thoroughly soaking the affected area in enzyme cleaner and extracting with a shop vac.  If this doesn’t work, it is time to call for a professional carpet cleaning.
How Can I Prevent the Cat from Peeing Outside the Litter Box?
Make the litter box an attractive elimination spot.  Cats need three things from their litter box: privacy, cleanliness, and space.
Privacy: cats prefer some peace and quiet for elimination.  Keep your cat’s box in a quiet low traffic area away from noisy fans or washing machines.
Cleanliness:  your cat’s sense of smell is much stronger then a human’s; make sure to scoop everyday, and completely dispose of litter and wash the box out with unscented dish soap once a week.
Space: many litter boxes are too small.  Purchase larger litter boxes without domed lids.  Fill litter up only half way, no more.
Note: If that doesn’t seem to have done the trick, try a cleanser formulated to clean the enzymes found in cat urine and follow the
directions on the bottle. You can also use a black light to find places you may have missed. For carpet and upholstery that has been heavily saturated, the baking soda and vinegar method may not be strong enough. For those tough jobs invest in a compact upholstery cleaner – preferably one that utilizes hot water or has a built-in water heater – to remove cat urine stains and odors.

How to Remove Cat Urine from Clothes | Best Tips 2017
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/remove-cat-urine-clothes-best-tips-2017/
How to Remove Cat Urine from Clothes | Best Tips 2017
There are a variety of reasons why felines bypass their litter box and urinate everywhere else in your home. If your cat is sick, has behavioral issues, is getting used to a new pet or child, or is protesting a dirty litter box, then she might opt to use your plush carpet or your new chaise lounge as a place to do her business.
It’s important to consult with your veterinarian to find out why your cat isn’t using her box. But in the meantime, if you do find urine on the new chaise lounge, don’t fret.
How to Remove Cat Urine from Clothes:
The good news is, of everything your cat could choose to take a leak on, save for extremely you can do the following:
Assess the damage: If the urine is old (as in, you just discovered the accident two days after the deed was done), throw the pile into a bag – paper or plastic will do – and douse the clothes in baking soda to help lift the urine. Seal the bag by either tying it or taping it shut. Let the clothes chill like this overnight. If the urine is fresh, though, just head straight to the washing machine.
Wash clothes: Throw the clothes in the washing machine with a regular dose of laundry detergent, 2-4 cups of white vinegar (depending on how large the load is), and a liberal scoop of baking soda. Use the smallest setting you can so you can really get the fabric agitating in the machine. The white vinegar deodorizes the urine, while the baking soda helps lift the urine out of the fabric. Wash on hot.
Run clothes through again on a hot cycle, this time with no soap, vinegar, etc. to fully rinse any residue.
Hang to dry: Because you’re washing on hot, it’s best to hang this load to dry to prevent shrinkage.
Note: This method works for towels, curtains, and small area rugs too.To remove cat stains and odors from delicate fabrics, use the same method as you would for washing regular fabrics, but use the “delicate” or “knits” setting instead of a regular setting, as well as a larger load setting to prevent wear and tear of the fabric.

How to Choose a Better Litter Box | Finding the Best Spot for the Litter Box 2017
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/choose-better-litter-box-finding-best-spot-litter-box-2017/
How to Choose a Better Litter Box | Finding the Best Spot for the Litter Box 2017
Finding the Best Spot for the Litter Box
How-to-Choose-a-Better-Litter-Box
Although some cats will use the litter box regardless of where you place it, just so that they can somehow reach it, other cats will balk at using an inappropriately positioned box. Choosing a good place for the litter box means that there will be less chance that you will find wet spots on the rug or ‘worse’ behind the sofa. Cats are clean animals and will use their box if it is convenient and accessible.
  Think Like a Cat:
Cats not only need a litter box filled with dry, clean, loose litter to dig in, they also need a place where they feel comfortable. The placement of the litter box should be for your cat’s convenience, not necessarily yours. And, ultimately, a litter box that is used consistently by your cat will be the most convenient for you, regardless of where it’s located.
Do not position your cat’s litter box next to his or her food and water dishes. Nobody enjoys eating in a toilet.
Cats, like people, enjoy a bit of privacy when going to the bathroom. Don’t place the litter box so far from the center of activities that it will be difficult to use, but do put it a bit off the beaten path.
The litter box should be in a lighted area so that the cat feels safer using it. Don’t put the box in a dark basement filled with clutter; the cat will be afraid that it might be attacked when using the box.
Make sure that use of the litter box doesn’t require you to open a door for the cat – there should be free access to the box at all times.
Once you and your cat have found the right place for the litter box, leave it there. If you find that it must be moved, do this gradually by shifting the position of the box a little each day.
Multi-cat households should also provide multiple litter boxes. It’s also a good idea to keep the boxes separated from one another. There should also be an extra box in case one of the regular ones is soiled or otherwise inaccessible.
If you have a house with several stories, it’s a good idea to have a litter box available on each floor. There will be less chance of an accident if your cat doesn’t have to travel a long distance to use the box.
How to Choose a Better Litter Box:
In recent years, great strides have been made toward creating the perfect litter box:
SIZE: Litter boxes are made in a variety of space-saving shapes to minimize their presence, but research shows, and most cat owners will agree on, one thing: the larger the box the better. Both the Jumbo Open Litter Pan and the Jumbo Hi-Back Hooded Litter Pan are oversized litter pans that fit the largest of cats.
COLORS: Litter boxes come in choices of decorator colors, or soft earth tones so they blend in with your décor. The discreet, attractive design of the rattan litter pan cover looks great in any room.
HOODS: Hooded litter boxes afford your cat privacy, help prevent the accidental spread of waste and urine, and help control odor. For example, the Jumbo Hi-Back Litter Pan has an integrated zeolite filter to capture odors.
CLEANING: Built-in cleaning mechanisms, both manual and automatic, make waste removal easier and extend the life of litter. The Nature’s Miracle® Self-Cleaning Litter Box actually cleans itself and deposits the waste in a disposable container that you remove, empty, and rinse. It’s a healthy alternative that minimizes handling.
LITTER: New varieties of litter, which come in a range of textures and materials, and litter odor treatments, are earning cat approval in homes across the country. Drs. Foster & Smith Signature Series™ All-Natural Clumping Cat Litter, for instance, is made from biodegradable USA-grown grasses. It absorbs and binds odor-causing matter and is safe for cats and humans. These grass granules are easier on your pet’s paws, won’t stick to the litter box, and produce less dust than clay litter.
ODOR CONTROL: Effective odor control products can create barriers to prevent the growth of odor in the litter box, and even draw pungent odors from the air around it. Stink Free Litter Box Spray helps destroy offensive litter box smells with a convenient spray.
Rollaway Litter Box:
You can lead a cat to the perfect litter box, but can you make her use it?
Even provided the perfect litter box, your cat, or cats, might prove to be fussy about its use. You need to select a size and style she will use today. And you need to be flexible should she change her mind tomorrow. As your cat goes through the stages of her life, her preferences, as well as her ability to use the litter box, may also change.
STYLES: You may need to experiment with litter box styles. Before giving up on any litter box, however, understand that it might not be the box that is the problem. Be sure you have first tried a number of litter types at a number of depths, and whichever you use, always keep it clean.
NUMBER: Seldom will one litter box suffice. It is always a good idea to have at least two in service. It is far less likely your cat will find a reason to reject both. A good rule of thumb is to maintain at least one litter box for each cat, and at least one additional litter box than the total number of cats in your household.
LOCATION: Box location is critical. It needs to be in a quiet area, always a good distance from her food and water.
PRIVACY: Whatever style litter box you choose, make sure it affords your cat privacy. If you use a pan-style rather than a covered box, hide it with a Drs. Foster & Smith Kitty Litter Screen.
AGE: If your cat suffers from urinary disease, or is older, she will likely need a litter box she can enter and leave more easily. Climbing of any kind can become painful, forcing her to go outside the box.
Give yourself, and your cat, a break and investigate the more convenient, more hygienic options now available.

This Can Help Stop Litter Box Problems | Cats Are Cleanly
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/can-help-stop-litter-box-problems-cats-cleanly/
This Can Help Stop Litter Box Problems | Cats Are Cleanly
The most common reason why cats wind up sitting in a cage at an animal shelter is because they refuse to use the litter box. Cat urine has a very strong odor, and getting it out of fabric or even removing the smell entirely from hard surfaces can be difficult. And, cats have been known not only to defecate behind furniture to hide the deed, but also often on the worst places possible, such as your bed.
If you’ve been frustrated in trying to get your cat to use the litter box, you may be surprised to learn that the answer to the problem could be very easy to solve. Please note that any cat who is not using the litter box should be checked out by a veterinarian, just to rule out hidden illness.
Keeping It Clean:
Rather than getting angry at your wayward cat, it may be time to examine a critical element in the problem – the litter box itself. Cats are very clean animals, and one thing that can drive a cat from his or her litter box is a box that is filthy. Put yourself in your pet’s place and imagine how you would like to use an overflowing toilet; you wouldn’t, so why should your cat. Today’s busy world often leaves us trying to do too much in too little time, but the litter box cannot be neglected.
Clumping litter is probably the best choice for the litter box. Not only does this kind of material make it easier to remove feces, but it also makes it simple to remove urine. You should use a scoop to take out the clumps at least twice a day, and if you are home most of the time, scoop the box as soon as your cat is finished. Remember to add a bit of new litter to compensate for what was removed.
The entire box should be changed once a week if you have only one cat using it and at least twice if you have several cats all using the same box. It’s best to provide a box for each cat, however, to prevent one cat from dominating.
Why Is My Cat Not Using The Litter Box – Get Your Cat Back on Track:
It will probably take a bit of time and effort on your part to get your cat back to using the litter box, but most cats will return to the box if the places they have been soiling inappropriately become undesirable.
Sometimes, simply closing off the room where the cat has misbehaved or blocking off an area of the house will herald in normal behavior.
A water pistol that gives a squirt when the cat is heading for the wrong spot can be effective since most cats hate getting wet.
Double-sided tape applied on the floor leading to the ‘new bathroom’ can discourage your cat from using the area.
Traps made of a pile of empty soda h acans, wit few coins in the top one will startle a cat when he or she bumps into it and teach them to avoid the area.
Your cat’s feet are very sensitive, so a plastic or rubber mat covered with nubs or rounded points will keep your cat away.
Another booby trap that can work involves setting a mouse trap, placing in ‘face down’ on the floor in the target area, and covering it with a sheet of newspaper. When your cat steps on it, the trap will go off harmlessly, but will provide noise and movement to frighten your cat away.
Put your cat’s food and water near the place that has been sullied – cats do not like to eat and drink near their toilet.
Cleaning Up After Accidents:
Cat Spraying No More Review
Although you may have read that soap and water or baking soda will remove cat urine odor, they will not. Some of the compounds in cat urine are not water soluble and require an enzyme cleaner to remove the smell completely. You may need to repeat the process several times until all the odor is gone. Your nose will tell you when the job is done.

Vitamin and mineral supplements your's pet | Basic
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/vitamin-mineral-supplements-pet-basic/
Vitamin and mineral supplements your's pet | Basic
Vitamin and mineral supplements are the most important components in any dog’s feeding. If there is a balance in the vitamin and mineral supplements, then the animal will have a healthy life and hence, the immunity is not compromised in an unwanted way. This simply means that there the dog will be more disease resistance against various diseases.
Pet owners should know that vitamins A, D, E, and K are the fat-soluble vitamins and others are water-soluble vitamins. Vitamins like thiamine, pyridoxine and cyanocobalamin are important for the functions of nervous system. Deficiency of vitamin A leads to night blindness and skin lesions and deficiency of vitamin D leads to the softening and weakening of the bones.
These problems are many a time encountered by the dog owners. Among these, vitamin A toxicities may occur if you feed them in excessive amounts, like vitamin D. Hence, give emphasis on this while you are using these vitamins in the dogs. Cod liver oil from selected fishes has more vitamin A in them and are universally good feed for dogs.
All dogs may not need supplements of minerals or vitamins to live well for the moment, but it is important for their future. If they become sick or aged or very young without proper feeding, supplementations are required for the upkeep of health status in them. However, one has to follow the instructions of veterinarian in this regard.
If the dogs are fed with fish in frozen conditions, then they may be suffering constantly from vitamin B1 deficiency and hence, such dogs need to be given specifically B1. Careless supplementations of minerals may lead to diseases and hence, veterinarians always need to be consulted on the supplementation of minerals or vitamins.
Minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, iron, copper etc. are given more emphasis in addition to sodium and potassium. Zinc is related to skin health and potassium is related to the muscle health and calcium with phosphorus is related to the bone health.
However, if you feed the dog with chicken, mutton or beef along with required vegetables, artificial supplementation of mineral or vitamin tablets may be highly reduced but supplements need to be thought of when you are not able to maintain a balanced nutrition as this happens with most of the dogs, due to multifaceted causes.

Why are regular check-ups important | Dog care
New Post has been published on http://pettrainingdepot.com/regular-check-ups-important-dog-care/
Why are regular check-ups important | Dog care
Why are regular check-ups important? Every dog owner asks this type of question, often. If you failed to do the regular check-ups, then the dog may end up having some major diseases that you don’t know about. Hence, you need to pay lot of money both to the veterinarians for consultancy and for the required drugs useful for the therapy of the clinical condition.
One may not be able to find out the very commonly occurring clinical conditions in case of their dogs because of less experience with dog diseases or dog rearing. This is why check ups are important. For example, if the dog has potbelly, the condition may not look abnormal many times. But if the dog is subjected to the regular check-up, then the veterinarian immediately finds it out and gives the appropriate therapy. If not, the animal may experience diarrhea and the dehydration.
If the dog has any signs of illness, then don’t wait for the regular check-up. Instead, you need to approach the veterinarian immediately. Check ups if done in a regular manner will help to give vaccinations against canine distemper, parvovirus, corona virus, rabies virus, hepatitis virus, and more.
Booster vaccinations will be carried out in such cases without any delay in the injections and this helps to improve the immunity level of the dog against such diseases in a remarkable degree. Regular check up is the essential one with proper stools examination. Hence, the deworming may be carried out with drugs like fenbendazole, albendazole, etc.
Abnormalities like signs of pain may be ruled out during such examinations. If not, helminthiasis may affect the animal and diarrhea may occur in addition to the other types of digestive upsets and anemia. Regular examinations help to rule out the external parasitic conditions like lice or tick infestations. Dental problems are also found out during the regular check ups in reputed veterinary hospitals.

Nylon Training Lead | Cesar Best Sellers
As seen on Cesar’s new TV show, “Cesar Millan’s Dog Nation,” airing Fridays on Nat Geo WILD Unlike a traditional leash, this training lead features a slip collar instead of a metal snap hook, so a collar is not required. The neck piece can be placed correctly behind ears for maximum control and an added nylon stopper keeps it in place. Designed as a training aid for walking your dog, this lead offers greater control and provides the ability to give a firm yet quick and gentle correction that eases up when you release the pressure.
