As someone who has not been in the Harry Potter community for years (since JK Rowling started spreading hate) I genuinely have a question to ask those who are still part of the fandom:

I have seen, at least in the italian fandom, a lot of hatred spread towards Tom (the actor who plays Draco Malfoy) because he has not distanced himself from the author's homophobic and transphobic statements and because he continues to participate in projects with her. I would genuinely point out that the Phelps twins (Fred and George Weasley) are doing the same thing(?). I repeat, maybe I'm wrong, maybe they have distanced themselves from what the author says and does, and I don't know. So my question is this, why do we channel hatred towards one person when others behave in the same way?

Disclaimer: I don't want to try to cancel James and Oliver or even Tom or to justify them. I'm no longer part of the community (thank gods) (and I couldn't care less of who does what) and that's why I'm genuinely confused. Is there anyone who can explain me about it or who can perhaps tell me their opinion?

(Basically: I want GOSSIP, tell me, did they try to cancel them? Has anyone talked about it yet? Let me know!)
