now if you'll excuse me, I've been fighting unconsciousness to finish the post- good night
I got so many fics in the works all torturing Danny in new and creative ways! Not including Six Stars!
Each was based on a different image I had of Danny/his predicament.
Six Stars' image was of Castor crying liquid starlight
1st one is a monstrous Danny, an "if the GIW had captured him and were using him to scare people about ghosts"
2nd was thinking about Ras using Danny to attempt to create a new Lazarus Pit by hanging him from the ceiling and bleeding him. Idea was originally "what if Tim encountered Danny being used to create a pit when Tim was working to get Bruce back from the timestream?"
3rd is Danny being a bit less.. directly connected to his body when it comes to being a halfa. More like an out of body experience.
1
"And then Phantom turned it-himself towards the group and opened his eyes, the space between the obsidian spikes sparking into a bright white fire- and it felt like all the air was pulled out of the room. She couldn’t tell if it was his eyeballs that were glowing green or if the sockets themselves were empty, miniature holes to the Ghost Zone- just green, green, green.
A moment, then two, and finally Phantom blinked and the spell was broken. The group began gasping for air to make up for the breaths that they hadn’t been able to take. But it seemed like with every inhale the low hum of panic and fear that didn’t quite go away began to build again. Did someone release fear toxin in the air? Cass's hand hovered over her panic button, looking once again at the creature Phantom, who was pressed against the glass, mouth slightly open as if scenting the air, was that drool pouring out of its his mouth?"
2
"Behind the stalactites, maybe 20, 25 feet above the pool, hidden just from view- a humanoid figure. They were bound, hanging from the cave ceiling by thick black chains that pulsed with red light in time with the drops.
They hung, facing down at the pits, angled slightly so that their legs were raised above their head. Their legs were bound so that their heels dug into their thighs, arms held behind their back, forearms locked together below the elbow.
The chains that held them to the ceiling were hooked around each knee, where their forearms were held behind their back, and both shoulders around the armpits.
Drip.. Drip.. Drip..
The liquid was coming from a large, cruel slice from the person’s throat."
3
I'm pretty sure this last one requires some actual CW for medical/body horror. Danny's still in the process of healing from his vivisection, and this bit mentions his arm currently not having bones.
"And suddenly the kid moved backwards again and Jason picked up on another thing, with a sickening wrongness swooping in his gut at the sight.
The kid’s left arm held more healing incisions, one from their wrist to the elbow, one from the elbow up into the sleeve of their t-shirt, likely to the shoulder, and five more on the back of their hand, each from the wrist to the nailbeds, all angry red.
But it wasn’t just the cuts that drew his attention, no it was the way their arm moved as they did. It- god.
It flopped like a dying fish for a moment, and all at once Jason was certain that the kid’s arm no longer had bones in it."

Danny means that Jason can fix the thing without anyone bothering him (because they can't get a word in edgewise). Plus Danny always knows what to bring.
DPxDC The Guy
AKA "There's a problem, so Jason Todd does the whole 'I know a guy' routine except his guy is Danny Fenton. And Danny literally just stands around and yaps while Jason fixes the problem. The Batfam are like??? Who the hell is this guy??" prompt idea! Lowkey dead on main but can be read as friends! :)
This literally won't leave my brain! I just imagine how hilarious it would be if one of the Batfam had a problem, maybe their bike got messed up while on patrol, and Jason's just like don't worry about it. I know a guy. He calls up some guy named Danny and asks for a favor.
Danny shows up in civvies - just an old NASA hoodie, ripped jeans, and ratty Converse. Dick expects Danny to be a mechanic or something because he's brought a bag of tools, but instead he just deadass starts talking about his day?? And Jason takes the bag, kneels down next to Dick's bike, and works on it while Danny orbits around him yapping nonstop.
Dick's just like?? Why did you even call this guy, he's not even helping???
("Jay, what-," Dick interrupts Danny's rant about his chemistry professor's obsession with Scarecrow, only to be silenced by Jason's murderous glare from beside the motorcycle. Jason nods at Danny to continue and the guy offers a sunny smile before giving a in-depth analysis of why fear toxin is just bad weed. Dick watches from afar as Danny's monologue forces several abrupt, snorting laughs from Jason. It's a sound Dick hasn't heard for years.)
The next time it happens is at the Manor. Jason is helping Alfred cook breakfast in the kitchen; Alfred opens the pantry door and pauses.
"What?" Jason leans around Alfred to peer at the curiously empty glass jar of what was probably flour.
"We seem to have some wayward flour on our hands. How odd, as I restocked it Tuesday." Alfred's tone made it clear he knew exactly who it was (Dick, who's just visited the manor the other day to 'see his siblings', AKA to raid the pantry since he didn't want to go grocery shopping) and there would be consequences.
Jason brushes sugar off his hands and reaches for his phone, almost smiling when he says, "Don't sweat it, Alfie. I know a guy."
Twelve minutes later, Daniel Fenton knocks on the door of Wayne Manor with a bag of flour in hand and coffee from the little cafe near Jason's apartment. Tim and Steph stumble into the kitchen bleary-eyed from late night patrol about two hours later. Only to find Danny sitting at the kitchen island chatting with Alfred and Jason about the English pre-war printing processes. Jason's smile is so wide that his dimples pop against his cheeks. (Tim stares, feeling some sort of... not nostalgia exactly, but something like it. Jason looks younger, grinning wryly at Danny, a streak of flour on his chin. He looks like the old Robin, the one Tim used to take pictures of and quietly idolize. Jason looks... happy.)
It becomes a well-known habit. Sink's broken? Cat stuck in a tree? It gets to a point where the Batfam know that Jason will call Danny for increasingly ridiculous stuff.
Damian: Todd, I require assistance-
Jason: Sure, I know a guy.
Damian: Is it Daniel?
Jason:
Jason: Do you want my help or not, brat?
Except one time it's serious. End-of-the-world, intergalactic crisis, tell-your-kids-you-love-them kind of serious. Jason's hand goes to his phone even as his siblings, his father Batman, and several of the Justice League grimly debate the world's fate. Nightwing notices Jason typing at his phone before the rest do.
"Hood, you can't be serious. You can't involve a civilian in this!"
Jason ignores him and the subsequent outcries of his family, the confusion of Batman and the JL, to press the phone to his ear. This time, however, he doesn't ask for Danny. When the familiar cheeky voice calls out what's cookin', good lookin'? from the phone, Jason's voice is grim when he says, "Phantom, I need a favor."
There's silence. Then, it's almost like an abrupt change in air pressure or the undeniable crush of tectonic plates grinding together. When a green portal pulls apart the fabric of reality, Danny doesn't step out. It's Phantom, High King of Infinite Realms, Space, and Heir to Father Time, clad in regal attire with a crown of white-hot flames nestled into his hair. His steps are sure when he walks past the tense crowd of superheroes.
"You called?" Phantom asks. His unnatural Lazarus-green eyes burn into Jason, but there's a midwestern twang in his voice that's so reminiscent of Danny that Jason can't help a small huffing laugh.
Jason turns back to his family and the JL, gesturing to Danny. His family have already made the connection. Likely because Danny's accent, the subtle similarities between Danny's human appearance and his Realms appearance, and the fact that there's only one person Jason ever calls. Danny turns to the League with a bright smile and introduces himself as, "Danny Phantom, but you can call me Phantom."
(And then they kiss!! Just kidding. But Danny probably saves the world and then they go back to the Manor, much to the confusion of the batfam. The batfam are all like, wtf, Jason?? You didn't tell us the guy you've been hanging out with all the time was the freakin' King of Infinite Realms?? And Jason just shrugs, and is like, well... I guess living with him kinda desensitizes you to all the ghostly shit? That's how the batfam find out Jason and Danny are living together. Are they boyfriends?? Maybe, maybe not. But it seems suspicious that Jason's always calling Danny, seemingly just because he likes being around him, hm? ;))

Working on Chapter 2 of Six Stars and I love this line.
Context: John Constantine talking to Batman
“What? I don’t speak bat.” the warlock snapped at him- ignoring that he did, in fact, speak bat and knew exactly what the giant furry wanted.

Chapter 6
“It’s adorable how you think I’m letting you out of my sight,” Bruce said. He rested his hand lightly on the small of Danny’s back and started to guide the other out of the box. “Again, you falling over the edge of the box, down the stairs, dramatically onto some absurdly pointy bit of Gotham architecture—these are all things I am not going to take a risk of happening to you.” “You are such a father.” “I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult,” Bruce said honestly as they took the back stairs down to avoid the crowd.

Castor and Pollux
Are not just twins, they are quadruplets with their sisters Clymenestra and Helen of Troy.
Their mother laid two eggs (after Zeus swanned her >:I)
Pollux and Helen from one egg, sharing between them godly blood.
Castor and Clymenestra from the other, fully mortal.
Danny is Castor
Jazz is Clymenestra
Dan is Pollux
Dani is Helen

You might think, since ghosts normally feed on emotions (ectoplasm is not widely available), specifically fear, that Lady Gotham would be fond of Scarecrow.
No.
His early fascination with fear drew her in, but when he started using fear toxin?
Eugh.
The fear the toxin inflicts is stale and artificial and gross.
Its fear is not toxic (hah) to ghosts and they can survive off it, but it's nasty.

Lady Gotham was fine before her Bat. The city was constantly drenched in low-grade fear with certain high points in muggings or gang wars.
She was.. unsure when her Prince returned and began his crusade. Oh she loved Bruce already, the title alone in the minds of her people gave him connection to her, even if unintentionally.
Names and titles and people's thoughts are powerful things, after all.
But then she watch Batman work and oh! The fear was no longer just a byproduct of misfortune, it was the goal and desire and it was so, so much sweeter than anything she had felt before.
So she embraced it, her Knight- for that too was a title the people gave freely.

I had the idea that early on in Batman's career, Lady Gotham would regularly but subtly point him or his Robins towards clues for their cases.
But then sometime later, Batman taught himself and his brood how to detect "foreign thoughts" and to not listen to them- which meant that the hints that Gotham had been giving them now were rudely ignored until every other possibility was ruled out.
So she had to change tactics. No more "you should go look over here!" and instead its more like, making sure the cctv cameras were pointed in the right direction or causing light to shine on the Important Things.

Heartbroken and betrayed that none of you called me on the fact that Catherine is not Jason's bio mom. </3
You've seen Danny is an al Ghul-Wayne, Danny is a Drake relative, and others, but have you seen:
Jason Todd is a Fenton?
(Minor CW for mentioned cheating/adultery via mutual non-con, something happens and Jack gets Catherine Todd pregnant. No details other than the outcome and the fact that it's neither Jack nor Catherine's fault.)
Jack and Maddie are trying to decide where they want to set up Fentonworks, there are two candidates:
Amity Park and Gotham
Initially, they like Gotham more, sure Amity's ambient ectoplasm and title as America's Most Haunted would be good, but its also in the middle of nowhere. In Gotham there are so many resources! Grants (of questionable source, read: money laundering and such) they could get their parts custom-ordered, and really take off as a business!
And then Maddie finds out she's pregnant (with Jazz) and completely shifts. Gotham is no place to raise a family, their child(ren) would be in constant danger from just walking down the street. (This takes place juuust before Batman comes into the scene, where Gotham is at its most wild and corrupt, but also before any rogues come into play).
Jack understands where she's coming from, but Amity has more ghost sightings and those will be just as- if not more- dangerous!
They get in a massive fight, the first time they don't see eye-to-eye nor have a compromise.
Jack storms out of the apartment they've been renting in Gotham and walks to cool his head.
Something happens, I'm not sure the hows or whys other than Catherine Todd ends up pregnant (Jack would never cheat on Maddie, no matter how angry or upset he was, it's some sort of altered mental state and all in all both he and Catherine are the victims of it)
Whatever happened convinces Jack that Maddie was right, Gotham is too dangerous, and so they move to Amity Park.
It's why Jason is built like a tank- he takes after Jack. He is the half-brother to Danny and Jazz.

Y'know I originally didn't like this idea from the sheer unpleasantness alone, but fuck if it doesn't work.
It's been bouncing around in my head.
CW: Sexual Assault (via ghosts) and the mental anguish that inevitably caused. Disregarding/Not believing a victim of SA.
And also I'm gonna be rather blunt under the cut, take care of yourselves and let me know if I need to add more warnings.
That's why Jack hates ghosts so much, they fucking raped him. Every time someone dismissed or disregarded the existence of ghosts, that essentially said to him "That's not what happened to you, you weren't raped."
Ancients, that would be horrible, and until the activation of the portal and the conformation of ghosts, he would absolutely have that worry and fear in the back of his mind what if I did make it up? What if they're right?
It's also why he was able to throw off Vlad's overshadowing. It wasn't his first time being overshadowed.
Catherine blamed him or the drugs or whatever else. They never met after that point.

Danny (a version where he is older and more well-established as both King and Hero) calls Ra's Al Ghul-
wait
This was gonna be about Algol, the demon star also translated from Arabic to "the Demon's Head" but is that literally where DC got it from? I mean, other than literally translating it??
I.. huh
Algol, Al Ghul

Replacement
Timothy Drake-Wayne had been feeling pretty good lately. As Tim, he had gotten to spend an afternoon with Dick this week without interruptions, he’d thrashed Duke, Steph, and Dick in Mario Kart, and his board meeting with the WE execs went not horrible, which is more than he could usually say about the old vultures.
As Red Robin, he had found a lead on a cold case he’d need to follow up on, there were no new breakouts from Arkhan this week- though they were still keeping an eye out for a few rogues that had gotten out the previous weeks, but those were mostly underground-types, not likely to be seen until they had their next plan in motion, and he just helped clear out civilians from a collapsed building that had ended in all being accounted for and no major injuries!
And also, it had been 1 month, 3 days, and 6 hours since Red Hood, aka Jason Todd-Wayne had called him-
“What’s up, Replacement?”
----
Basically, Jason calls Tim "Replacement" as a form of affection, but Tim did not get the memo and still thinks it means Jason is mad at him when he uses that nickname.
Miscommunication hours ensue, with Tim definitely neurospicy coded and coated with a healthy glaze of abandonment issues.
Tim has accepted the "fact" that Jason hates him, but doesn't understand why.
Eventually Jason is taking care of either a VERY sleep-deprived, fever-ridden (curse you, missing spleen), or just vulnerable Tim. Tim (deliriously) asks Jason why he hates him.
Jason is shocked because he knows how much he messed Tim up, but was under the impression that they've mostly repaired the bridges.
Like, Jason has put in WORK to be better. He has altered the voice modulation and design on his Hood helmet because he noticed Tim reacting negatively to both of those things, he makes an effort not to sneak up on Tim. Not even mentioning his wrangling of the pits.
They talk, make up, and Jason promises to stop calling Tim "Replacement" and intends to keep it.
Just some light hurt/comfort plot bunny that I don't have the time or drive to properly finish.
