do we think he needed to take a few months off before enrolling into a new school to recover from neil's death? or do we think his parents immediately put him in an equally stuck-up boarding school despite his obviously declining mental health? he strikes me as the man who needs constant 24/7 social interaction otherwise he gets majorly depressed. what if he just got so insanely depressed that he couldn't even interact with anyone outside of his immediate family, and the fact that he couldn't have social connections just sunk him further into his despair

i think he picks at his lips until they're raw and sore and blotchy when he's mentally unwell

usually he's playing off his harsh feelings, but when he isn't even trying to make a joke out of it his parents know their son is worse than he's ever been

probably loses some weight during his depression, only goes out to get two packs of smokes, which he blows away within a week and a half in his room, uncaring of the smell and how his parents now most certainly know about his smoking addiction

a totally different person at his new school, he's quiet and only rebellious because he couldn't care for the punishment that follows his disobedience, wears his uniform in a sloppy manner, and he doesnt even have the respite of his honourary badges adorning his blazer. he has to earn them all over again. keeps his eyes down, and tears up in class sometimes because he sees neil out of the corner of his eye, doesnt check to see if its actually him anymore because then the illusion will be gone, and he wont have the most bare minimum comfort his brain is offering him. at times, he can hear the other dead poets, and on the rare occasion, he hears neil's excited voice through his dorm door

Two-bit is completely underrated. Yes, he is silly and goofy and he eats huge amounts of chocolate cake and drinks beer at the same time and yes, he does love Mickey but his character is so much more than that. He is undoubtedly the most loyal out of the greasers, he loves all his friends so much and would do anything for them. Need a ride? He’s got you. Need a friend to talk to? He’s got you. Need someone to babysit your kid brother? He’s got you. He didn’t care the Marcia was a soc he still talked to her. He told off johnnys mother because he loved Johnny and cared for him. He was going to drive all the way to Texas for pony and Johnny!! His character is so overlooked that nobody really sees the bigger picture of two-bit Matthew’s.
