yknow i’m still thinking about that krieg anon n like. i just really wanna clearly state i don’t like psyren as canon tries to approach / suggest it because it’s unhealthy. no matter what, krieg’s dependence on maya for healing is unhealthy. not only for krieg as a method of healing, but also for maya and her own mental health. it’s taxing. it causes stress and anxiety. if i wasn’t about to leave for work i’d go find papers with more facts about it but alas i must go

headcanon   dump   1 .

 maya   doesn’t   do   well   in   the   cold .     athenas   has   a   warmer   climate ,   and   she   has   a   hard   time   dealing   with   the   colder   parts   of   pandora .     she’ll   never   say   a   word   about   it ,   though .

 she   has   a   hard   time   socializing .     she   had   limited   exposure   to   anyone   her   age ,   and   interaction   with   the   monks   was   strict   and   structured .     27   years   of   relative   isolation   made   it   hard   to   connect   with   people .     she   improves   over   the   time   spent   with   the   other   vault   hunters ,   but   it’s   slow .     by   time   she's   found   again   on   athenas ,   she’s   still   awkward   and   can   have   a   hard   time   with   talking   to   strangers ,   but   she   lets   a   lot   more   of   her   personality   out .

 she   also   struggles   with   trust .     maya   doesn’t   trust   anyone    more   than   her   generation   of   vault   hunters   and   the   previous .     she   was   manipulated   her   whole   life   and   refuses   to   let   anyone   take   advantage   of   her   in   any   form   ever   again .     though   slow   to   trust ,   once   she   does   trust   someone   there   is   little   she   wouldn’t   do   for   them .

 it   seems   implied   that   she   was   experimented   on   by   sophis   —   she   grew   uncomfortable   with   being   touched   without   permission ,   even   small   touches   like   a   hand   on   her   arm .     by   the   time   they   finally   take   down   jack ,   she’s   much   more   open   to   contact   from   the   other   vault   hunters .

 returning   to   athenas   doubled   as   a   way   for   her   to   try   and   heal   and   reconcile   with   what   she   experienced .     she   also   didn’t   want   to   further   abandon   the   people   that   did   nothing   to   her   but   still   wanted   her   protection   and   leadership .

 she   uses   her   time   on   pandora   to   experience   things   she’d   been   deprived   of   on   athenas .

 she   doesn’t   sleep   much .     she   has   a   hard   time   getting   comfortable   and   sitting   still .     she   just ...   can   function   well   enough   on   a   couple   hours   of   sleep .     there   are   times   where   she   goes   a   couple   days   in   a   row   without   sleeping ,   though .

 maya   has   no   clue   how   to   drive .     none .     however ,   she   absolutely   is   the   first   to   volunteer   to   drive   and   will   rush   to   claim   the   driver’s   seat .     she   loves   driving .     also   scares   herself   with   her   driving .

also it was never that maya couldn’t use eridium. she just didn’t know how. she’d never been exposed to it or held it in her hand. honestly? she was kind of annoyed once she learned how easy it is to use eridium. she rarely will use it but her powers are terrifying with it!
