“What?” He called out over the music. Ezra paused for a minute. He heard pounding against the door and paused the song. In that moment, so many emotions had come to mind. He could feel himself getting nervous. As much as they needed to have a serious conversation, he didn’t want this to be the time or place. Allura deserved a lot, granted she wasn’t going to be the same way he met her in New York. He opened the door and there she stood. He hadn’t realized how incredibly short she was compared to him until Allura was in front of him. “I forgot how short you were, Princess.” Trying to lighten the mood, he stepped to the side giving her access to the room.

It didn’t even take five minutes for Lura to want to slap him. They were the exact same height. In heels Lu was taller than him. “Didn’t know you regarded someone who was your exact height short. Don’t call me princess. Call me Lura.” She stepped inside noticing that the room was freshly cleaned. Well as clean as two college boys can get. “Did you clean up for me?”

Ezra began to tidy up his room quickly after Allura told him he was coming over. It was a little bit nerve wrecking for him. The last time he’d seen the girl was in high school or impromptu run-ins around campus. Taking a quick glance, he noticed people running in and out, grabbing laundry, etc. He closed the blinds, hoping Dorian wouldn’t mind. Allura reminded him of home. Yes. their history made things complicated but he wanted her back in his life. He had influenced her heavily and not in the best ways. Ezra’s mission was to get her to finally accept him for a decent human being. He looked at the album, feeling his cheeks gain heat. The music had reminded him of her and home. Thumbing through his closet for a shirt, Ezra played some music from his phone as he waited for Allura to arrive. 

Every human being is capable of change. Lura knew that. She had changed dramatically herself. Gone from the standard high school princess who lost her way to the driven college sophomore with her goals lined up, her priorities straight, and no sign of substance abuse for the most part. The reason why Lura can’t find the ability to forgive Ezra is because he is her past. A part of herself that she wishes she could erase from her barely there memory. Most nights she remembered in flashes. It was ugly. No one wants to be reminded of the past. Ezra was a dick back then and is still a dick now. If he ceased to exist Lu wouldn’t give two fucks. So it’s a mystery why she is knocking at his door right now. Maybe it was her morals. Or even the fact that she needs to learn forgiveness in order to help people forgive. “Ez are you there?”

it’d been a long flight, redden eyes said as much. but tiredness wasn’t the only thing troubling the blond, having arrived back on u.s. soil… alone. concealer could only do so much, but hiding in her room under the guise of unpacking was serving her quite well. “come in,” she turns around, a bikini top crumpled in her hand and hidden behind her back. “are you kidding? of course. any time is a good time for my favorite little.” cecilia stuffs the top back into her suitcase, closing it shut to discard any and all evidence. “i can’t give you your gift though– - i haven’t wrapped it yet.” she teases, arms open as she embraces the other in a hug.

lu hugged her big, noticing how disgusting she looked. poor thing probably hasn’t gotten much sleep. the city that never sleeps could do that to a person. “i have a bag full of face masks and polaroid film. we can get fresh and glory before taking the photos. you look like death cece. are you okay?”

“i’m just an asshole, it’s different. and you’re hot i can’t control myself.” he added as an extra, even though it probably made him sound even worse. “we’ll see about that one.” considering she had a habit of falling into them. “okay but you watched the same film i did? he’s given such a bad rap but out of the two options belle had gaston was by far the superior one.” and although his opinions on gaston were very rigid, he felt another debate between the two of them brewing. “lura i actually have nothing that bad to say about disney. disney fans are like dog lovers, they rave about dogs but as soon as a cat lover comes into the conversation y’all start talking about how cats are the pets of satan himself and that they have no souls - but us cat lovers just want to chill with our low maintenance pets in peace. i’ve watched every single film and i’d probably beat you in a disney trivia quiz. i let you sleep in my bed, what else do you want from me allura?”

“at least you own up to it. no wonder my mom likes you.” he sounded like a complete douche but lu prided herself in her ability to look good even when she felt like shit. “your lack of self control is a gift.” it was the famous beast versus gaston debate. neither of them were ideal but in the end someone won. “neither of them are good options considering one is an animal and the other is an idiot. the beast was a complete dickhead both in and out of human form. in the end it boils down to respect. neither gaston or beast are the poster boys for how to treat women but the beast learned. gaston locked belle up after she had an opposing opinion.” lura smiled. she loved these debates. “i don’t do any of that. the occasional comment yes but i would never shun your cat loving self. you wouldn’t beat me in a disney trivia quiz. i’d bet on it.” lu bit her lip at the thought of how much of a privilege that is. there is something else she wants from him but she knew that it would never happen. “breakfast in bed after i whoop your ass at disney trivia.”

“i don’t have commitment issues. it’s not approval, more like validation. i can’t control my morning breath so really it’s shameful to use it against me. also i’m glad you didn’t lie like that because i would have been upset.” resting his hand over his mouth, he stared at the girl in slight disbelief as she started speaking and didn’t even interrupt her. “you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you talking about the delicate intricacies of the bee movie. it’s kind of hot. i would dress up as dr facilier but i’d much rather dress up as gaston or hades.” 

“so what’s the whole thing about having a girlfriend yet sleeping with me at the same time? synonyms alfie. synonyms. I'm not that anti dreamworks.” lura couldn’t believe the words that came out of her mouth. “i’m glad you think its hot. can’t believe i fell into that trap. its not happening again.” this time lura was the one surprised. hades was one of her favorite villains. gaston was just a fuck boy with no boundaries. “hades because gaston violates everything i believe in. i can’t believe you would dress up as a disney character for me. what else would you do?” she asked curiously.

“nah i want you to drag me.” listening to her reasons he shook his head and started to argue his case almost immediately. “every single one of those bee movie conspiracy theories is legitimate! why are there so many male bee characters when women do most of the work? when do male bees have stingers? why do all the characters have parents? why do we never see the queen bee? all very important questions allura.” her second example however rang true and even cause him to break out into a loud laugh. “okay for that one… you got me there but… i was very high and i still think you’d look cute.” when she failed to produce a third example, the boy smiled in triumph. “you flopped. proves my point perfectly if you ask me.”

“your commitment issues, need for approval, the way your breath smells in the morning. i would mention your love for dreamworks but i refuse to sin and say that i don’t love it.” she smiled. lu knew that this was a lost cause. she was going back and forth with a future lawyer. “it’s because even in a bee hive it’s still a male dominated society. male bees have stingers because it represents their dicks. at least that’s what i like to think considering the whole stinger in a squirrel thing.all the bees have parents because white suburban moms can’t handle the fact that not everyone will have a mommy or daddy bee. however that also brings up the topic of incest if you think about it. ten times worse. the queen bee is too busy running shit to be on film.” lura couldn’t believe all the shit that just came out of her mouth. it proved to alfie that she was paying attention during the movie. now she would never live it down. “you’ll only catch me dressed up as fiona if you’ll dress up as dr. facilier from princess and the frog.” she glared at him. “give me a minute. i’ll think of a third one.”

for the entire day, sofia had been lay in her room going over some notes from her lectures, trying to find some form of excuse to get away from studying but failing. everything seemed to be calm throughout the sorority house, everyone seemed to be either in their room or out of the house, which just made for an extremely dull day. pushing her hair back out of her face, sofia got up and threw the book on the floor, a loud crash was heard as it hit the wood. the brunette forced herself up from her bed, pulling her shorts up and pacing around the room until she heard the door behind her open and lura appeared. 

‘ thank god ‘ sofia mumbled, under her breath. ‘ not focus? how much not focus? ‘ sofia asked, the question making perfect sense to herself. ‘ let me be more specific, ‘ she added, turning around and getting onto her knees before her dresser, reaching into the bottom drawer and pulling out a small tin, closing the drawer and going to sit on her bed. ‘ do you want an e, some acid or just some weed? ‘ she asked, opening the tin to display the contents she’d just listed. her eyes moved from the tin to luras face. it was obvious that lura was really hurting, she seemed to have lost her energy that she usually carried with her, it was quite strange to see. ‘ or we can just talk? ‘ she suggested, raising an eyebrow. ‘ you look fucking awful. ‘ she finished, being entirely too honest as per usual. 

weed was the least harmful thing sofia had. lu would whip out the tequila but pity drinking is tacky. “weed. e would have me running to a place that’s not here.” it would calm her nerves which is exactly what she needed. “we can talk and get high. multitasking is my strong suit.”

she waved the comment off. of course she looked awful. for the past few days she hasn’t been able to sleep properly. the one good thing about that was getting a lot of her work done ahead of time. “i know i do. anyway my dads coming to town which is fucking me up more than it should. he’s trying to be nice but i know i’m going to get the inevitable speech about how i should be a lawyer instead of a therapist. i could always go into forensic psych but thats not my dream so. i hate him. he needs to leave me the fuck alone.”

“i’m handsome, intelligent, charming and witty. what’s not to love?” running his hands through his hair, he gave lura a wink before turning his soft and flirtatious expression into one of mock sadness. “oh yeah? give me… like three circumstances and i’ll let it go. because i can’t think of a single one.”

lu could think of multiple things that would make alfie problematic. mainly his drug use, commitment issues, cockiness, love of dreamworks, and sometimes shitty memes. add all of that to the fact that he has her wanting to commit to a relationship. it would be so easy to hate him but shes convinced that her inability to do that is written into her dna. “don’t give me an excuse to drag you.” lura shook her head. he was ridiculous at times. it’s cute. “when you spammed me with bee movie conspiracies. when you had the audacity to suggest that i dressed up like a sexy fiona for halloween. when...fuck.” she couldn’t think of the third one.
