ALSO now that artfight's over that means i can go back to doing what i love most: DOING CHARACTERS REFERENCES/REDESIGNS! this time around with a focus on the main 7 archangels (with michael & raphael already being done thank you past me) ... so far i already managed to bang out uriel (the tall one) and gabriel (the shorter one) soo . 3 more to go .

also uriel was NOT supposed to look like they're giving a thumbs up i was supposed to draw them holding something like a sword but i just really didn't feel like drawing/designing one yet LOL

i absolutely did NOT mean to draw so many lucifers this year btw . i rlly went digging through names and tags and couldn't find a lot of characters that suited my tastes but the ones i found for lucifer ? my god ! so many good ones !!.... did i also mean to draw them all at the 3/4 angle ? nope ! oops ! it WILL happen again !

to keep this from being too long below this is just me rambling about artfight and what it was like for me this year vs last year

less about the art and more about me this year BUT i'm so very Cheesed with myself ... last year i was completely horrified trying to do anything at all on the site and would get so anxious i'd make myself cry LMAO . leaving thank you comments on attacks ? TERRIFYING ! posting attacks ? would take me at least HALF AN HOUR OF HYPING MYSELF UP ! answering any messages ?? DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED !.........this year though? pretty much fine LMAO like of course i still got nervous when uploading attacks and sitting basically glued to the site waiting to see the response and if i did a good job but like HEY i didn't have to make one of my friends log into my account to check my notifications for my because i was filled with so much anxiety over doing it myself !

that and the anxiety of doing artfight couldn't stop me from doing it again this year because the sheer Joy of getting artwork of my characters done by other people completely outweighs any fear . whenever i'd see i got a notification on the site i'd have to get up and pace around my house before i could check because i was just so excited LMAO i need to print them all out and stick them to my wall or something i love them all so much LOL

how the hell do people write without feeling Weird about it . there's something deeply wrong with me i think . i want to sit down and fill out my characters' toyhouse profiles so y'know . there's information about them there to be read .

but .

for some reason i feel So Off trying to sit and write at my desk ? like i am haunted by the feeling of being watched because i have space behind me where someone could realistically stand ... it's gotten to a point sometimes where i just cannot push myself to start working on things unless i go to my bed with my back up against a wall and write on my phone ... which is fine but i'd much rather work at my laptop because typing on a keyboard bothers my wrists/fingers much less than typing on a phone .

this might just be totally coincidental but recently i had a surge of memories come back to me after reading about other people's childhood experiences: my mother would constantly hold this threat over my head that she had cameras and the likes placed everywhere and would see/hear everything i was doing and lowkey . i think that constant paranoid stuck with me . lmao . not to mention a plethora of other things that happened but it's way too much to put in here

tldr i am haunted by a feeling while i try to do anything (not even just writing but also drawing and other things) of being watched and judged to such an overwhelming point where i will just Not do things i want to do to avoid that feeling/do it in a way that's not good long term for me (writing on my phone . i have a big clunky phone and weak little wrists . it kills them to even be holding it for long periods)

i hit my self-made goal for artfight this year (7 attacks . why 7 ? cus that's how many i managed to do last year) but i'm sooooo peeved because i know i could've hit it sooner if i didn't hit such a roadblock at the start of artfight !!!

a lot of the characters i picked out on the off season looked nice but a lot of them were just random demons and . i just Could Not draw them . their designs were nice ! but i Did Not Enjoy drawing them . so i gave up for like the first two weeks after drawing tossing out a couple things for friends .

but then ? as soon as i go back to the kinds of characters that scratch at my brain (named demon characters like lucifer etc) ?? oohhhh my goddddd i've never been able to toss out as many drawings back to back as i have recently within the last like . 10 or so days . which is great for someone like me who is Really Super Bad at finishing things (but also sorta kinda awful on my poor wrist ! i'm getting better at taking breaks though . sort of .)

if i had done this sooner i would've liked to have drawn at least one of each demon associated with the seven deadly sins but i don't think i have enough time to do that/will be able to do that without tearing my wrist apart

there's just too many damn good lucifers . i couldn't help myself . i still have one more i want to draw . when i tell you i exhausted artfight's new search feature that allows you to look up characters that are named a specific name ??? for all characters named lucifer, beelzebub, asmodeus, mammon, belphegor, leviathan, satan, astaroth, etc ??? i did . i was on the hunt . though tbh there were actually a lot less than i thought there'd be that actually Fit My Tastes but hey ! that makes the ones i do find all the more better i guess !

stupid thing i drew last night while working on artfight stuff (which i'm waiting until after it ends to upload everything else i've made for it..) . i really need to draw my characters actually interacting with one another . even if it's done in a silly doodle form like this

context is that archangel michael gets thrown out of heaven and lucy jumps at the idea of having them stay with him and beelzebub (who also just so happens to be michael's little brother) . lucy can forgive micahel (mostly) for what they've done but beelzebub? he's gonna eat that little (ex)angel i'm so sorry
